As mentioned in another leather jacket video, Fonzie wore a leather A-2 WWII style aviator jacket in Happy Days similar to this very nice Schott example
Love the jacket. Those were popular in Italy. I got mine in 83. A very nice friend and excellent collector here in Los Angeles helped me out with a 1950s mouton for the collar and the lining. He also had the same jacket and used his collar and lining to create one for me. He did it in his garage while as we were working on our bikes. For cleaning, he brushed the jacket thoroughly with a horsehair big brush followed by warm water cleaning, then saddle soap cleaning and finishing it with a top-of-the-line conditioner that has bee products in it. After the conditioning, he used a very well-padded wood hanger and place the jacket inside a bag, and carefully sealed the bag using a zip tie. The jacket hung on the attack for two days. When it came out, the jacket was like butter.
I have a Schott G-1, given to me by a Navy vet who bought it during his service in the 1970/1980s. It’s in great shape. The quality is on a different level than the new ones. The zipper is stout & made of brass, there is a removable fur liner, really strong snaps secure the pockets (unlike the buttons). It would be a $2,000+ jacket given what Schott charges for the decontented new version.
I have an original jacket just like the fonze wore in the movie. My actually needs lining and new cuffs. The jacket I think was made a big retailer and was commonly used in the late 50's and early 60's. The original zipp tells me it's late 50's. I actually purchased that very same model in a shop in Melrose called War babies? in the mid 80's. It got stolen in Europe but purchased another one in ebay.
I found this exact jacket shown on this video at Angel view thrift store for $19.00. Wow I feel like I won the lottery. This is great same color brown.
I've got a Vintage Pack-In brand A-2 flight jacket from the 60's or 70's, it's a size 40, I think it's the first jacket I've had that fit me perfectly in my adult life
Magnificent Vintage SCHOTT fly jacket - horse leather (with gussets) But the fonzie jacket does not have gussets (straight cut), and no front patch pockets.
Hey bought one in a second hand store in Baja California Sur in Mexico . The same exact one as yours I’m so happy .. Amy recommendation to renovate my old jacket ? Saludos
Not sure what you mean by "renovate" but anything can be repaired, cleaned or upgraded - Linings can be repaired/replaced as well as the fabric along the waist and cuffs - You can clean the leather with saddle soap and re-oil it with mink oil
Thanks for the jacket!!! I contacted Schott NYC today. The last time they produced this model was 1990. No liner or fur collar available from them. This is in great condition. Used saddle soap and mink oil with silicone and lanolin and it's AWESOME! THANKS, MIKE.

Mine if I ask how it fits? I’m about to get size 38 and not sure whether it’ll fit (172cm / 67 kg). Usually wear small or medium jacket
