Not sure if you've been keeping up with other content creators or on the discord but archers have been absolutely nerfed into the ground. I wouldn't bother training more than one unit as you're capped at six recruitable slots currently

You should be using three year crop rotation, i.e. two different crops in the first and second years and then fallow in the third year.
