Thank you to every single person who watched an episode this year! The community of people who love the music like we do is incredible. What was your favorite moment of the year? We will have special best of episodes each week of the holidays and will be back Jan. 11 with new episode! Editor’s Note: This was filmed before new information came out in the Jay Z case about inconsistencies in the accuser's story. For the latest: hiphopdx.com/news/jay-z-responds-rape-accuser-admitting-mistakes-lawsuit
Off the top I have in no particular order: 1) DJ Hed and Jeremy interactions in Ep. 11, CCB 2) Elliott breaks down his critieria for evaluating rap Ep. 13 3) Daylyt calls in Ep. 19 And of course you need a montage of Elliott crash outs and DJ Hed lectures. 😆
It feels like Jeremy is the only one who takes his job seriously and actually prepares the topics of the episodes. He's also the one who dictates the flow of the show tbh. Hed only provides "nuance" when the question is too difficult to answer and Elliott be giggling the entire episode and occasionally throwing shade.
I know I be talking ish about Elliott but in all seriousness dude lowkey been involved in so much of the history of hip hop. He be knowing every 👏🏾 thing 👏🏾 😂.
The Third Verse on “Not Like Us” is key to understanding Kendrick’s problem with Drake. That verse encapsulates the entire beef. That verse and the address to Drake on “Meet The Grahams”. Drake lost at “Euphoria”. His fate was sealed on “Meet The Grahams” and “Not Like Us” is the celebration of west coast victory.
At first I didn’t like this podcast but as listened and truly see how much you three love hip hop. Jeremy’s love and dedication to the show and the dynamic Hed and Elliot brings with their experience makes this a fun show. Jeremy always getting emotional is super dope to me because it’s gelatinous, like “why the hell yo voice cracking” but I am jealous of him. He gets to be accepted in his space and do what he loves. I’m proud of all three of yall
Blue 💙 Lips def went platinum in my house this year ... Anything Kdot and Tyler in my home, car, gym gets tons of play from me and my children. Earth gang went hard too.
Elliot Wilson: Kendrick saying f the big 3 it’s just big me and then following it up with the energy of what he did makes it the verse of the year! Couldn’t have said it any better than that❤.
52:09 if we’re talking abt underappreciated albums, there’s this one rapper called nobigdyl who dropped an album called The People We Became that’s an AOTY contender imo. There’s two versions of it, both are fire.
Thanks to everyone involved for creating something special to look forward to every Saturday. It's been a pleasure being a part of and watching the community grow around the show. Hope y'all enjoy some down time. I look forward to being shown The Bigger Picture next year. Until then ✌🏽
Hed starting this pod trying to claim that he doesn't know why he's on the opp list is W I L D Edit: "It lacked seasoning" - I fucking love this podcast :D thank you for adding to this year of top tier entertainment within music
Euphoria ain’t make him even it had him up 1000% lol. The levels to Euphoria was insane and it was just sonically the best track out of the whole beef.
Jeremy quoting euphoria lyrics to why Aubrey went the direction in Taylor Made is rewriting history. First person shooter Like that? Push-Ups Taylor Made Euphoria 616 in La Family matters Meet the Graham's Not like us The Hard part 6

DJ Hed is a menace!😂
I’m actually more interested in the tiramisu snippet than the broccoli snippet because it sounds like Kendrick putting more emphasis on the bars

I so much love this podcast because of the fact that you guys stay away from the bs!!!! That speaks volumes. TBP!!!!! ( in my Elliott voice) 😂😂😂😂

Probably
Maybe it’s Little Wayne’s TV that needs to be turned off…?
Honestly....you prob right
I thought the same lol
Doechii is what us female hip hop junkies desperately NEED.
Thank you Jeremy. Beyond Elvis' wife was a bevy of teenage girls that he transported over state lines, over and over. No one did anything about it.
@@nettricegaskins1871 👀👀
My favorites thanks for bringing joy to us every week 😂😂
Thanks for watching!!!!
"WE like our food cooked on this side" WORD
Elliott giving Jeremy the Scorpion jacket is equivalent to Hov giving Kanye his Rocafella chain. 12/14/24 is officially Jeremy’s chaining day 🏆
@@dijahmedi4882 🥲😂🙏🏻

Lefty Gun Play has a great voice.

Elliott thinking he's the boss and everyone on stage being confused why he thinks so lol

The pod is great but may we quit surrounding it around Hed's opinion as if was law ? Just a note.
57:09 DJ peanut hed
Dj head.pause.Great recall “It lacked seasoning” lmao
Why do platforms make standards based of Akademiks narratives is crazy. He needs to be out of the culture!!!
When DJ Hed said that he DON'T GIVE A F**K he meant that sh!t.
You all are speaking of some very talented artists, but both Kendrick and Doechii have me in a headlock. I can't listen to anyone else right now.
I forgot how involved Hed was early on 😂
