It's really weird to see "modern" Damon do his serious Gorillaz-stalking up and down the stage after watching young Damon lean super hard into how goofy this song is.
I think at the time he hated it because it felt like a shallow sell out but over time he grew to love it because it’s clearly endured, as evidenced by how into it the crowd is.
Blur have so much more variety than oasis a slow song being tender one of the greatest ever written heavy song being song 2 one of the best grunge songs ever and many examples of rock and roll. Blur to the end 🎸
Uncle Mike oasis stuck with the same bland formula throughout their career, Noel wrote excellent melodies but Blur had good melodies yet they progressed in every aspect while oasis stayed with the same shit for another 9 years after blue broke up...
