Hey Erica! Great first reaction. If you want more awesomeness from Edgar Wright, Simon Pegg, and Nick Frost, you should definitely watch their two season Channel 4 comedy that jump started their careers... "Spaced." It has very similar humor and aesthetic to The Cornetto Trilogy (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, and The World's End). The girl that Shaun kept bumping into and the grumpy guy who was Shaun's flatmate were two other actors on "Spaced."
Spaced was Channel 4 not the BBC.

@@Cinesituation I'm just going to sprout a few that you can check out categorized. If you're interested in doing shows/anime at some point then here's some suggestions too that I feel are good starters. Just note some of them at times get vulgar (cursing) or have gore but nothing that is too much.
80's: Lost Boys (1987), Breakfast Club (1985), Princess Bride (1987), Labyrinth (1986), The Goonies (1985), Red Dawn (1984), Back to the Future Trilogy (1985-1990), and Beetlejuice (1988).
Shows: The Good Place (2016), Breaking Bad (2008), and Stranger Things (2016).
Anime Show/Movies: Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood (2009), Blood+ (2005), Clannad + After Story (2007), Belle (2021), Wolf Children (2012), Your Name (2016).
More Advanced Anime for Immediate watchers: Castlevania (2017), Overlord (2015), The Rising of the Shield Hero (2019).
I think that's a good start. I obsess over films and shows so if you want a more specific genre then I can do that too. And as a good bonus two films, check out "The Green Mile (1999)" and "Fried Green Tomatoes (1991)".

Great reaction, definitely need to go on to the second movie in the 'Cornetto Trilogy', 'Hot Fuzz' because as much as I love this zombedy 'Hot Fuzz is even funnier.
Then it's on to the finale... "The World's End."
Hot Fuzz is definitely the funniest of the three, imo.

I use the term "records" for everything because it's short for "recording." Most folk think I sound old, though. For those things, I use vinyl or LP. But I suppose it doesn't matter much anymore due to the phasing out of physical media, right? Call 'em whatever you want, I guess. 😅
Pretty sure they were vinyls but this innocent baby wouldn't know that.

Always fun to find a cool new reactor. Hopefully you find a supportive community on here, as well as some new favorite movies. Based on your 3 vids, I assume you are interested in horror/horror adjacent stuff. In my opinion, The Return of the Living Dead is best zombie horror movie. There are some scaryish parts but people mainly love it because of how fun it is. Very atmospheric and very 80s, with a punk rock feel to it. It might be on Tubi right now, even if you don’t react to it, still a supremely fun watch.

please leave quietly is because most pubs are in residential neighbourhoods and if a pub gets enough complaints from its neighbours it van lose its licence

This movie, as well as the other Edgar Wright films, have always been some of my favorite movies. Though I've watched this film numerous times, its never gets old.
Part of the cornetto trilogy. No story connection, but the same actors.
They eat a cornetto in every movie in the trilogy. 😉

David is played by Dylan Moran who is a hilarious comedian and had a sitcom, Black Books.
I'd recommend Father Ted and The IT Crowd before Black Books. IMHO of course.
These are the classic/original "slow" zombies. It might seem like they're not a big deal, and they're not if you know what you're doing, but I've seen simulators/math done on it and the problem is when there's a lot of them. Great reaction, thanks!
Simon Pegg (Shaun) is probably best known in the States for the Mission Impossible films and being Scotty in the Star Trek movies.
The JJ Abrams Trek movies do not exist. ;)

Most pubs in the UK, Australia, NZ etc will have a sign to the effect of "Please leave quietly to respect the neighbors". Mixed results.
I love the fact that you don't do really long intros.
When they go to the pub, the 'opposite' team of people they bump into were the cream of British comedy talent back in the day. Its referred to as The Cornetto Trilogy as they are seen eating Cornetto ice cream at some point. You need to do their cop-action one next, Hot Fuzz. Its the best of the trilogy, the writing a slick, full of gags and the cast list is unbelievable. A running joke in all three movies is the 'collapsing fence' gag.
Was there also a tiny trampoline gag in World's End? I didn't like that one, so I've only seen it once and can't recall.

My family loved this movie. A few years after this came out I was with my family in Australia and stayed at a pub called the “Winchester”. Any time we discussed plans it’d end with someone going “and then we’ll go back to the Winchester, have a pint, and wait for it all to blow over”.
If you haven’t seen it, YOU MUST do a reaction to Scott Pilgrim Vs The World, ASAP.
It has the same director as Shaun, Hot Fuzz and World’s End. (Edgar Wright) BIG Cast, So much fun!

If you think about it, the plot is absolutely ridiculous. There's a zombie apocalypse happening and these guys will spend the entire movie trying to get to the pub - Just so they can hang out while it blows over. 😆
I guess in a real zombie apocalypse there are a million stories of people surviving and some of them could be just this weird.

Congratulations and good luck. Just remember to take criticism with a grain of salt and remember that the majority of mean comments come from people under the drinking age. Not making excuses for them, just saying not to take too much of their crap to heart. Also, prepare for lots of unsolicited advice, mine included. 😁

But consider, otherwise, the resemblance between them is _incredible._ I once watched the DVD for this movie and those always have an option to begin at particular scenes throughout the film instead of right at the beginning. This particular scene is labeled "The doppel gang."
The two groups meeting briefly is a hilarious cameo. It's a whos-who of British comedy talent...

I do love how they in this movie tell us that our society is kinda zombified. Most of us do the same boring things each day. In the morning we have to get up and go to work, then in the evening we come back from the work we usually hate. with few meaningless things in between then the supper maybe a movie and good nite. and next morning everything is on repeat.
That's why Shaun didn't notice the end of the world at first. Also on the example of Shaun, it's interesting that some of us needs an apocalyptic event to shown our full potential and become fully ourselves. ;p If you liked this one maybe also you will give a try to another movie. Cockney vs zombies from 2012 was made in a similar fashion with a similar attitude. :)
Also if you've lived in a major UK city, that was looking quite tidy compared to how trashed the place can look in the morning after a weekend, you get used to just tuning it out.
If you watch the 1978 movie Dawn of the Dead, you will understand a lot of the jokes in Shaun of the Dead. They even borrowed some of the music from it.

I dont know why but nobody ever seems to think it's funny when zombie Philip turns off the music in the car.
I laughed uncontrollably when I saw it, and I agree that it gets missed by many reactors, which is so strange to me. I think it’s one of the best jokes in the movie.

So much is happening so i know rewatching people will catch it. I know there are jokes i miss or scenes from movies once i give it a rewatch.
@@BigPat6521 this movie in particular is worth a re-watch because the first half of the movie basically repeats itself after the zombies emerge. Like the Winchester scene with them shooting the zombies the dialogue is a repeat from the beginning when Ed is playing the game. And that’s just one example of it.

As a Canadian, I want to recommend you check out Scott Pilgrim vs The World, same director, so it feels like a similar style. Plus it's kind of like a musical but with video games. And it takes place in Toronto.

My all-time favorite zombie movie (Dawn of the dead 2004 being second), and as a first reaction, perfek. Hopefully you will watch Starship Troopers from 1997 some day if u havent seen it, banger of a movie.

Definitely do the other 3 (yes 3) movies in the Cornetto trilogy... Hot Fuzz, Worlds End... the 4th one 'Paul', which isnt part of the trilogy but fits in nicely at the end given its got the same two guys in it and alot of people consider it an unofficial part of it.

Hot fuzz is their next one and probably the best
British comedy will always be so cool to me. A strange mix between incredibly tight and highly sophisticated dialogue, and absurd toilet humor. It pulls all the right strings. Hot Fuzz is another movie this cast and crew made together, a comedy about police.

Sure, Fulci’s isn’t the only restaurant around, but it’s The Place That Does All The Fish (even the phone directory listing says so). Not just some of the fish, all the fish. I mean, how many places can honestly lay claim to that?
It’s named after Lucio Fulci, who directed _Zombi 2._ Why name a fish restaurant after him? Because that movie has a scene in which a zombie and a shark attack each other. 😄
Believe it or not, according to the DVD extras, Diane survived by climbing into a tree.
