I have the version from Nerd Knuckle which I believe is the same PCB file but with a mid range control as well. I use it as a preamp into a Quilter’s effects loop and it gets me in the same territory as my actual Musicman stack with 20% of the weight

That prototype is basically the production version. You’d get a better version if you bought a recent production unit because they’ve been updated slightly, and then you can have someone etch it or do a similar distressed finish
