This is great,
the one "problem" I could see is the same the Inca campaign of aoe 2 or the tale of the dragon campaign has, which is that you will primarily be fighting very similar enemies.
I get that the narrative doesnt lend itself to include the other AoM cultures, but that also means giving up a huge chunk of AoMs variety, since you will spend the entire campaign with the same or similar units fighting each other. This is by no way meant as a slight against Atztec campagin its great, certainly miles better than whatever tale of the dragon was which is impressive.
Still I hope if they ever do additional cultures for retold (and they probably will) that they take a page out of the AoT campaigns book and have other cultures involved in some way, for atztecs I could see a sunset invasion type scenario, anything to make these rergions feel less isolated, its not like mythology doesnt give us excuses for that to occure unlike histoical campaigns.
Yes, that really was a good highlight of the New Atlantis campaign. I will throw little curveballs, but the Aztec setting is a bit limiting in that sense.

In addition to what another comment said, considering age of mythologie's anachronistic nature of faiths and cultures, having the other factions show up, even occasionally, wouldn't be too insane.
Atlanteans had colonies all over the world, norse reached the new world irl, someone proved irl that the egyptians could (but not that they did) reach the new world on their boatd, and the greeks much like atlanteans were great seamen and colony builders, only irl instead of fiction. Small factions of them showing up for a brief mission or two (refugees from the Titan rampages?) in the new world, as allies or minor obstacles
Hello friend! I'm playing aom with arkantos always on cinematic mode. Do you know how can I speed up his attack rate? or modify his stats, so he can be more powerful?
Suggestion: Poseiden but hes a unit (he was a unit in 2000 btw. I want you to remake him)
