    Terrific job once again! You should start a citizen of the month award and give yourselves the first one and for every month you have been doing these! Thanks for another great video! Stay safe and stay healthy!

    Thank you so much for this. My great aunt still lives in the city and this gives my heart happiness that you all are doing this.

    Massive reclamation in Detroit is necessary but @Detroit Drain Gang has shown us so many cherry homes. There is an opportunity to redesign Detroit to accommodate pederestiions and bikes. Local commerce and parks. Turn the vacant landscape into an opportunity.

    You should get a wider rake like the kind Post 10 used

      Yes! That way you can scoop. Hard to pick things up with a pitchfork. But I love the videos. Keep up gods work.

    Great job and good video. Like the two angles from the two cameras. Still like the idea of getting the gutters and sidewalks cleared with a shovel. Can you work with someone similar to Al Bladez who lives nearer Detroit?

    Have you thought about getting rid of the pitch fork and going to a simple rake instead? It will be sooo much easier to clean up debris!

    Sad that all those lots are empty, but at the end of the video it's better than the destroyed homes that are seen.

    Looks like you should elect yourself to be mayor because it doesn't appear that the one in office is doing anything. I bet their neighborhood doesn't look like this.

    Throw that worthless useless piece of rake away. you get a better result if you do like post 10 and just move your feet back-and-forth over the drain

    I've always wondered watching your video's why you use a potato rake. A regular garden rake, or even a leaf rake is so much easier to use on street drains.

    Piece of advice...too much back and forth between the 2 drains. Just get a nice whirlpool going, and then stand back and just watch it work naturally. All the back and forth ruins the point of vids like these.

  • @guylundsten4660
    @guylundsten4660 2 роки тому +1

    Try the small yard rake with the thin tines! It will pull more out and push the debris down the grates. It will tear the debris up better and easier with one hand. The potato rake tends to get stuck on crap all the time. Unless you have ice then the potato rake will be needed

    Why aren't the houses in danger of collapsing demolished by the city? Why aren't the broken cars removed? I don't even want to talk about the garbage. So much oil runs into the sewers. But they serve the community well by removing the floods. Thanks for that!

    Wow, open 2 drains on opposite sides of the street with just a few swipes of the fork on the first side. Magic! or an underlying system that just needs a jump start!

  • @hobouk3871

    Its a shame that know one can organise a volunteer group of retired builders and landscapers together to start to regenerate some of these areas back to an acceptable standard for residential living. Open up green spaces like parks and play areas for families to spend time in. Its pretty obvious who ever runs Detroit doesnt take these areas of the city into consideration. Its so sad to see this, i know what its like because Detroit is basicly a reflection of my home city. Its an old industrial city thats been left to rot over the decades because people just wont spend time or money to redevelop them :(
