Just a little flight rule, when you spin the plane around you should always turn towards the captain's side :) and that little thing on the ground you where wondering what was, that is for ferry's to "park" so cars can get on. I know they are a little over sized in fsx... Great video though. Fun to see a flight over my home country :D
John Dennis hm, yes maybie. my instructer at least says so. But offcourse, if you are taxing on a taxiway you turn with the taxiway, But every time i spin the aircraft around on the runway (or any other place for that matter i shuld always turn to the captain side. And at 10:14 in the video you can see that there is a little outwourds point at the FO side of the runway. you can also find them at TNCM (st. martin) there you turn the aircraft in, and then spin the aircraft around to the captain. Just saying :D
Bollocks! Who tought you that? That isn't a flight rule. Maybe a tradition for whatever reason where you come from (though not even there, when it's Norway, as it can be easily seen in the video below). You turn it always the way you can make certain that the turn will be a safe one. That's the only rule, if at all. Safety. Not captain's seat wise or any nonsens like this. When I'm CM2 and piloting and can't see shit at the CM1's side I turn it to the right as well. Period. That's the turn rule. The pilot in command decides. Watch how a real pilot turns a plane at Sandane... and then compare it with Matt's turn. Any similarities? Exactly. ua-cam.com/video/9NAAZHdNz-c/v-deo.html
Nice video! :) What you saw is a ferry crossing. There so many of them because of all the fjords. Some places in Norway the lights go out into the water, but that looked a bit too far.
Amazing video Matt! Looks really challenging :-).. You seriously got to share your fsx settings and so on, because the performance you show off in this video is beyond phenomenal! :-).. Hope to see some sort of new tweaking video from you this year.
Matt for your next hardest approach I would recommend KSAN San Diego cause they only use one runway for landing and taking off which is 27 and the approaches goes through the city
you should try SBSP(Sao Paulo) to SBRJ (Rio de Janeiro) in Brazil, SBRJ has a really short rwy for 737 or A319 (A320 can't land there because the rwy is too short) and the normal procedure is a visual approach pattern or a RNAV.
Actually didn't think you were going to stop in time lol. You should try the RNAV 02R Y approach into SBRJ (Santos Dumont) in Rio. Fun approach that requires some precision.
Hi!, just a question do you use ezdok camera for the shaky head, but how can you move your head around like that.. when i try to move the head with the joystick stick (using a yoke system saitek) it try to move, but ezdok force it to stay blocked... sorry for bad english... hope you or the others can help me! btw good video!
Matt, do you ever consider flying a lager aircraft in future videos? I know its unrealistic to just jump into lager aircraft. I'm thinking about aircraft such as boeing 747/ airbus a380 and the 787 and things similar to that.
FSX takes some of the challenge away as it does not have contoured runways. In real life this runway is quite a severe hump-back, so much so that you cannot see one end of the runway from the other.
Hey can anyone help me out? I have the majestic dash 8 q400 and i'm running it on a i7-4770k and a nvidia 635m, normally I get around 40fps with near to maxed out graphics, I was planning on buying the PMDG 737-800 Will it run well on my system?
why no reverse ? awesome i tried this soo many times and i realised after watching ur video that i was too high all the time ! there seems to be no charts for ENSD , great video as always :) hello from india
It's more about your airspeed, then the decent angle. You can have a steep decent angle with a low airspeed and be fine. If you have a steep decent angle with a very high airspeed, then things on the airplane will start breaking.
In norway the only planes that land on the short fields are the KIng Air(ambulanceplane) and the Widerøes dash 8-100 and dash 8 q200. The 300 and 400 needs to much runway to be able to safely land and take off. So the landing here was not legit.
I've got an idea for #10 worlds hardest approaches, land at Paro Airport in Bhutan, use the Q400 or PMDG 737NGX the airport is surrounded by mountains, it will be hard to land there, I wanna see you land there.
"What game is it on"? What's that even supposed to mean? And what do you mean by "he said what game is it on, noob" when he answered PC, and you answered PS2? Can't honestly understand what you're trying to say.
Matt: there's no time for greasers or anything.
Ryanair: exactly
:D that callouts :D ... One hundred ... Ten ... :D
I was clearly not ready for this :D
Every time you fly the dash whenever you look at the throttle section I always think of "props to 900 please" :0
Haha xD That video was INSANE! xDD
HAHAHA Thats exactly what I was thinking of!
Props 900 please.
OK!
*Props set to idle.*
WHOOOP
which video is that??
That video actually made me cry with laughter :)
Bill Supplee ua-cam.com/video/uE3cuiXrMmA/v-deo.htmlm15s
The thing you saw was a ferryterminal. The ferry goes across the fjord. Great video :)
Beautiful approach again, Matt!
Keep up your BEAUTIFUL work and make us ALL happy!!! ^^
Cheers :D

Aircraft always seem to turn towards the FO side where I'm from, maybe that rule only applies where you are locally?
John Dennis hm, yes maybie. my instructer at least says so. Thanks for you hard work and great videos Matt. Im going to try this myself in the q400. Keep up the great work your doing mate.
Great video Matt. Love the scenery and settings.
I just started with the PMDG 737. Now I feel like I need a Dash 8! Good realistic sound on reverse thrust.
Excellent video Matt, are you using track IR? Im thinking about getting it for VFR and IFR flying, would you recommend it?
I love your videos!awesome graphic and performance! you are a fantastic fsx instructor!
That's a crazy approach, but very well done!!
Great video man. I really enjoyed it. Keep them coming.
Hi Matt,
Great video as always, I was wondering, if you don't mind telling, which pack are you using from REX Soft Clouds, I love yours:)?
I don't want imagine this landing in bad weather...on board O_O .Nice work, kudos.
Hey Matt nice video as always;-) Nice to see you're using TrackIR again, I've just got it and I wonder what settings you use? Or profile even?
tou sem o meu simulador ja a algum tempo. foi uma boa aproximaçao tas de parabens matt.
Nice video! :) What you saw is a ferry crossing. There so many of them because of all the fjords. Some places in Norway the lights go out into the water, but that looked a bit too far.
nice approach matt looked high on final, looked a bit of a nose dive lol keep up the good content!
lovely flying Matt, Will have to try that one as also just got FTX Norway
Amazing video Matt! Looks really challenging :-)..
You seriously got to share your fsx settings and so on, because the performance you show off in this video is beyond phenomenal! :-).. Hope to see some sort of new tweaking video from you this year.
What you saw down there is a ferry platform! :) Nice video!
love this landing man!!.......would love to see more dash 8 videos from you
Hey Matt, great video! One question though, that weather- was that ActiveSky Next alone or with REX Soft Clouds?
Really great video and some great flying! I liked it a lot.. :D
I hope your new job is working out as supposed to and that sort of thing.
BR :D
Great vid Matt! Fantastic landing, was the airport included in the Airports of Norway package?
Matt could you upload your trackIR profile for fsx ? (Fantastic vid btw)
Great vid! can i request for a tutorial on this aircraft?
Can you do a flight between Brisbane YBBN to Rockhamton YBRK in the Qantas link Dash 8 Q400? Best route for the Q400!
There is a strange animosity with you and this plane me thinks!
Cool video! Would you like to do circling approach rwy 24 at Conakry airport GUCY? That would be very nice :)
Actually didn't think you were going to stop in time lol. You should try the RNAV 02R Y approach into SBRJ (Santos Dumont) in Rio. Fun approach that requires some precision.
yep,but he has to do it with a 737 or a319,otherwise it will be very easy.
Hey matt fyi that thing at 8:11 I believe was a ferry dock dont know if anyone else told you already but yeah im sure it is Cheers-James
Try Isafjordur in Iceland! That will be sick!
Another Nice video Matt. Try on ur next "Worlds hardest Approach" Isafjordur in Iceland. You Can get the scenery in Iceland X
Amazing aproach!!! All VFR, amazing
You need to hold down the mouse wheel and move the mouse to move the camera like this.
wooow! Thank you very much! Fixed it! How can I set zoom in with the wheel? with fsx commands
***** he's using 'trackir' as well check it out
Great video Matt !
Matt, do you ever consider flying a lager aircraft in future videos? I know its unrealistic to just jump into lager aircraft. I'm thinking about aircraft such as boeing 747/ airbus a380 and the 787 and things similar to that.
Great video Matt!
You should try the Isafjordur 08 landing on the dash 8, it's pretty insane! Loved that, great video.
That's in Iceland, the whole island is a free ftx region
Can you make flight LKPR-EGLL?? British Airways are flying this one
FSX takes some of the challenge away as it does not have contoured runways. In real life this runway is quite a severe hump-back, so much so that you cannot see one end of the runway from the other.
Really Hmm well I might give it a go in XPX then (:
What air craft is that and can I have the link to the download page of it is free and if not can I have to page where o can get it ...thanks
the q400 is a bit big to operate in sandane as the runway is 970 meters long ...
how do you get your fsx so incredibly beautiful!? seriously tell me! Nice landing btw. have a nice day :D
What do you think: what is the best payware plane?
Definitely the Abacus one ;)
Jackson2207 nah mate the wilco one is the bomb *100linelineemoji*
Nah abacus, their 787 is WAAAAAY better than the Qualitywings one and I also have the Wilco 737, just looks so much better than pmdgs so called 737.
Jackson2207 I know right, 10/10
Haha yeah
Hey can anyone help me out? I have the majestic dash 8 q400 and i'm running it on a i7-4770k and a nvidia 635m, normally I get around 40fps with near to maxed out graphics, I was planning on buying the PMDG 737-800 Will it run well on my system?
If I win the euromillions can we do this whole list in real life?
Dom Brooks
that thing on the shore was a ferry dock
I thought it was an unfinished bridge! :) lol
"It is a... 1000" 😂
loved this vid, despite the plane being a bit large since WIF only opreates the 100 there :)
matt could you flight a an225 with the buran? that would make my day(srry for shit english but im from brazil)
Are you still using the same sky textures and sun mod?
I actually live there xD They don't use the Q400. They only use 100's and maybe 200's if i remember right. Nice Vid! Keep up the good work!
+TheNoohas | Augustin & Ferdinand Du ser på Belynz du og ja? :)
+Flexy jeg også :-) ;-)
+TheNoohas q100, yuckkkk
Hi Augustin de bruker bare 100 på Rutene til Sandane :)
You could try EKVG - Vagar in the Faroe Islands. It's a challenging approach.
it isn't rly that challenging approach as it is mostly straight in from both sides
It has though weather conditions... And a few mountains and cliffs..
why no reverse ? awesome i tried this soo many times and i realised after watching ur video that i was too high all the time ! there seems to be no charts for ENSD , great video as always :) hello from india
Cool! But wouldn't you break the aircraft with that touchdown? It seemed very steep :o
It's more about your airspeed, then the decent angle. You can have a steep decent angle with a low airspeed and be fine. If you have a steep decent angle with a very high airspeed, then things on the airplane will start breaking.
At 400 FPM? No... if it were 800-1000 FPM, I could see where you'd say that...
I believe that was a dock of some sort
Hey Matt how about a worlds hardest approaches to Paro ICAO: VQPR
Can you do a flight sometimes to schiphol? It will be very nice i think...
In norway the only planes that land on the short fields are the KIng Air(ambulanceplane) and the Widerøes dash 8-100 and dash 8 q200. The 300 and 400 needs to much runway to be able to safely land and take off. So the landing here was not legit.
I landed at Sandane in a 737-600 SAS livery in stall speed. i almost overran :3
Awesome! But I got that and when I try to install it it didn't show up in the free flight menu of fsx! Please help!
+grahamboaviation uh, try formatting your hard drive, worked 4 meh
+iFlight lol
shh
Can you do a welcome on board in India, maybe from Delhi to Mumbai?
Not a river, it's a fjord ;)
i don't think the British People have as many Fjords as us Norwegian people :P
That thing is a ferry Port
:)
Take a 777 into there
I'm guessing he's already done the Kai tak approach
flew there IRL :)
What is the soundtrack of the intro?
Matt, can I call you a proffesional flight simmer? :)
Could you reply to this with your ezdok settings please?
What camera mode do you use?
Tivat Airport (LYTV) Localizer DME Runway 32 Approach please.
Its not a river, its a fjord! :P
I've got an idea for #10 worlds hardest approaches, land at Paro Airport in Bhutan, use the Q400 or PMDG 737NGX
the airport is surrounded by mountains, it will be hard to land there, I wanna see you land there.
He already has in the a319
Good video!
9:50 tires pop???
Fantastic!
You should do the Kathmandu approach!
8:15 is a Ferry Station I guess
It is a ferry port
Try to land at Lukla airport
great job, monkeybreath x
love your vids, enjoy your hard work, looking forward to the A380 XX gorbless
You should do approach into biis Ísafjörður
And im talking about the circling approach for 08
Try Lukla airport
What is decision altitude?
The altitude where you decide if you continue or abort landing. If you don't have the runway in sight, you have to abort.
Thx
WHAT A LANDING !! :)
what game is P3D on and do you play with a saitek yoke
+Justin Murray its on ps2
nope it's on PC
he said what game is it on, noob
"What game is it on"? What's that even supposed to mean? And what do you mean by "he said what game is it on, noob" when he answered PC, and you answered PS2? Can't honestly understand what you're trying to say.
For me the majestic dash 8 has a slight problem the dash 8 always turns slightly to the left anybody know why
Arthur Ritz Tried to calibrate the joystick?
Flexy we'll, IT happens for me too, i have calibrated and other stuff
i think its on purpose
It may have to do with the direction that the engines rotate. Try to trim it out or just use autopilot
That's because you never landed in CYTZ before...
8:20 its a ferry ramp
Can you fly a A380 or 747
+Dylan Katz no, he'd crash
There's no decent A380 addon, and matt is waiting for the PMDG 747 V2 to be released before a 747 video I think :P
I somehow managed to land there with a 737 once xD
What plane is that
Aerosoft dash8
Thanks
1ST +looks quite hard
Worlds hardest approach 10: Wellington, New Zealand NZWN
+Josh Davies is it really hard? im from aus
Its not really hard, u can easily go over Evans bay or Fitzory Bay.
+iFlight I find it piss easy as long as you get down quickly or have a decent auto brake setting
yea, well he made a vid on it
+iFlight who did?
please please vilnius - antalya a320 small planet airlines :))) please
