Indeed. That's why I posted this. You'd be surprised the number of people who click 'Don't Like' on this actually, with quite some vehemence, YT have removed several of them. I think they must be expecting the camera to fall on her on something, but this isn't one of those videos. I just wanted to show a lady being the epitome of calm situation-handling. I do have another video up, of the camera shooting off into the ether, and Victoria Valentine scooting back to the desk to find another one, which IS kind of funny, mainly because the lady just looks at it going awry and goes, "Oh, hello."
@@paulmurphy4267 Yeah, Victoria is another great presenter. I normally watch this slot for my daily news since they are both great presenters who I find easy to follow & understand.
Why do people think robots and automation is a new thing? Automation in radio goes back to the 1970s and robotic studio pedestals goes as far back to the start of the 1990s. Here in the U.S. when automation is done right, it's pretty reliable. The problem is when you have some shows manned and some shows automated vs. one or the other...then you run into problems.

They have been able to run programmed moves for many years. These days it would be almost trivial to tell it “point in this direction and keep the person’s face centered here”

I love how quiet the newsreader Sally is... not speaking, realises what's going on without any shocks, goes back to the main desk before speaking.
Would have been a song and dance routine if Victoria Valentine had been there
@@jacksugden8190 It happened to VV yesterday actually, I have uploaded the video of it.
Can we have one of these TV presenters in New Zealand. However, state controlled media is on its way out. Maybe a freelancer Sally.
Professionalism is handling unexpected occurrences without effort and carrying on regardless.

I should think so when theyre on 40/50k a year! Unless youre Laura Doomsberg of course, then you own the world!
This is why plombs are so useful. Always keep one handy -- you never know when you may need it.
Her response simply oozed with aplombness!👍🏼
Her aplombosity is of the highest order!
I always remember the guy who came for a job interview at the BBC. And was mistakenly put on live camera as an expert...

Very well done. You don't get this level of no-nonsense professionalism these days.
This seems to happen on a fairly regular basis.
This is what happens when you 'cheap out' and automate everything instead of hiring human beings to do these jobs.

It's more to do with 'affirmative action' employment policy
Never would have happened if they still employed cameramen.
True british dignity and professionalism.
misread this as sandra bullock i was like why is she there on her own in the studio?
The robot cameras are becoming sentient.
A true professional.
Hello paul in the building that the news is taking place what other rooms are they in that building.
I thought that said Sandra Bullock 🤦♀️
Wow I did exactly the same thing.

Yeah, rock and roll. Very good Madame.
