I listen to some of my old albums now, and I shudder when I realise how limited my playing capacity is now, but I always, always had the advantage of believing in my songs, and that will carry you over many a hurdle. By the way, I forgot to say, my wonderful daughter is a big Mr Magoo fan, or was when I last saw her. They used to show 8 episodes a day on the children's channel here! I used to watch the original series, with Jim Backus, but when I did the voice, I would get a quizzical 'Daddy's speaking in tongues' expression from her... Warm regards, Paul M

@@emilysantoyo918 I did get to speak to her briefly tonight for one last time and I mentioned you, and how you like Mr Magoo and Bob's Burgers. She doesn't like to talk about - 'the good old days' - as it upsets her, but she now knows she has a mirror-image!

Emily, your comments are a pleasure to receive, read, and reply to. I mean, you've kind've entered a time of diminishing returns - it's very difficult for me to play anymore, due to physical impairment - but hopefully even if the delivery is poor, the product will still touch someone in some way. Even if it annoys them! By the way, on a sidebar, and I hope it's OK, when my daughter called last week I mentioned that I had made the acquaintance of someone also called Emily, who also liked Bob's Burgers, and who also was an extremely talented artist. Emily, would that one could bottle your kindness. I wished I'd made a video of me making this video actually - trying to quickly shuffle the pages across during a harmonica break and then get my hand back without missing the next chord beat... I must invest in an autocue! There was a lot going on with this song under the water; I played it so the song slowly increases in pace as it progresses, and I'm muting the melody line in places at the same time - the lyric, the story, being what it is, I wanted a kind of whirlpool effect, so as the situation the heroine is in deteriorates, so the pace picks up and the words are tighter together, more claustrophobic. Nothing like making a 37-minute-long song even harder to sing... One thing I thought was fate - for some unknown reason, on the spot I decided to bring the closing harmonica solo to an end - it was due to run on for a couple of minutes - and when I went to upload it, I discovered that the camera file ended at the exact moment the last notes of the harmonica did. Thank you for your kind words Emily. I should have used a microphone maybe - for someone who tends to scream his songs out, my speaking voice is somewhat low. It's a - it's quite grim, this song. Not subject matter that many people touch, although my stuff has always been gritty.

Hi, I'm sorry to say I truly can't. I have end-stage F-MND and my legs and much of my body is now paralysed. The videos you see going up are vault material, pre-recorded and uploaded when I am able.
