How I made my first Instrument in Decent Sampler - 1987 Drums (free download)

- In this video I'm explaining what I went through to create an usable drum sampler from an old, cheap drum machine, with more features and better sound than the original hardware.
With the tips and information in this video, and the resources linked below, you should be able to make your own Decent Sampler library too. I made a lot of mistakes that made it harder, which you can now avoid.
Decent Sampler is a sampling platform similar to KONTAKT, and ESX24, but free and accessible to everyone to create their own.
The short time between idea and proof of concept with DS was extremely enjoyable and while my final instrument is fairly complicated, each stage of the process was very simple.

Appreciate the info. I’ve had DecentSampler for a while and decided to craft my own sounds. This inspires me to keep trying.
Gr8 job , really like effects simulation, more flavour in ya ear. 👾
My first drum machine. I pretty much hated it but used the midi out to trigger better things. The buttons finally wore out and quit responding.
Nice job massaging those sounds!
Oh wow, that's cool to know
I'm still going to use it for my synth rack and I'm happy enough with it for the price.
nice
Good stuff! Hopefully they update it with a WYSIWYG UI editor eventually
briefly mentioned in the longer stream, there is one in the developer tools menu but I didn't find it useful and was more clumsy than the text editor at this moment.
Pls tell me why my first kick sounds muffled and quiet??
best guess - check preferences for 'tiny fade' and disable.
