They can make 20 different spin-offs and none of them will ever come close to inducing the amount of anxiety that season 1 gave. Darabont is a one of a kind director who knows how to cast versatile actors and make them act in a realistic way that reflects the situation of the characters that they’re playing.
People say it was Glenn that got everyone together if it wasn’t for Shane closing the door and putting the bed in front of it then Rick wouldn’t of been able to of met Glenn
I agree I feel like Shane doesn’t get much credit for barricading Rick’s door if he didn’t do that Rick would have died and wouldn’t have met Glenn and everyone else especially if Morgan didn’t save him either.
Shane did everything he could. He truly believed his best friend and partner was dead. He coped with it along with Rick's wife the best he could. He got his wife and son to safety . He got a raw deal from the start. Not sure why anyone would ever demonize him. It was a mistake to kill him off.
He is demonized because he couldn't cope with reality that Rick actually did come back, and Lori was no longer his. I don't think it would have been any better if Shane said he was to lead the group, but would have told Rick 2 just leave well enough alone and enjoy his time with Lori and Carl. Shane felt like King Sh!t about everyone, and he didn't want to give that up.
@@ajdominguez1002 It's extremely difficult to get over someone you love and care about. It's not something that you can just shut off. People do crazy things for love. Lori treated him like a pariah after Rick came back. She basically threw him away like he was a bag of garbage once he was no longer useful to her. That kind of action has detrimental negative effect on men and their mental health. You forget that Shane had intentions of leaving the group. Lori was the one who convinced him to stay. I believe he truly believed that eliminating Rick was the only way to keep Lori and Carl safe.
@sorrymomimfloppy7117 No, you don't need or want someone who's ready to kill you as soon as he alone decides you need to die. That was Shanes main character flaw.
2:09 I like how the military were shooting the wrong people while the real threat was across the hall. This basically implies that at the time walker and a normal person were hard to differentiate which further fuels the paranoia of the military
They weren't shooting them because they thought they were walkers they were shooting them because they had orders to nuatralise medical staff that had been exposed to infected patients in an attempt to stop the spread of infection. They just didn't realise that everyone was already infected.
The first few seasons were great. They should have kept it to around 5 seasons and not killed off Jon Bernthal’s character, he’s a great actor. The show got so utterly ridiculous. I finally forced myself to watch the final seasons and they were just pointless. There should have been a clear direction for the series and way less moving parts. Breaking Bad is the blueprint for perfect pacing and how to wrap up a series in a satisfying way that doesn’t wear out it’s welcome.
There’s no reason to keep watching after the first handful of seasons. Season 1 was great. They should have committed to a shorter timeline and fewer characters. The series just got ridiculous. I just finished it and most of it is pointless.
@@mplslawnguy3389 Yeah I dont even understand any of it at all. After the first season I literally had no idea what was going on so I did not watch it. @@johngate4715 It was the same formula over and over again. Group overcomes adversity, finds food and shelter, new mysterious group is introduced, seems good or manageable at first only to find out they're evil, drag the season on for an unnecessarily long time, final show down, wash rinse and repeat. Too many side plots, too many groups, too many characters. It just got tedious. Then they just abruptly write Rick off the show. Seems like they just quickly came up with something to get him off the show in one episode. They tease that he's still alive, then do nothing with it and focus on several stupid plotlines and characters you don't even like or care about. Too much to keep track of, and none of it made that much sense anyways.
Given Shane's toxic things life is codependency addiction to Lori he actually had some pretty good thoughts and kept s*** in check you need somebody like that but not in a toxic way but to make decisions
I think they should had kept Shane alive and possibly have Negan who had kill him instead. That would had made Rick even more mad over the fact that not only did Negan kill Glenn and Abraham, but also his best friend Shane. Another character I think they killed off to early was Carl. Actually Carl should had never been killed off. I think he should had been kept alive to take care of his sister and brother after Rick supposedly died.
Even if shane was able to get him to the stretcher how would he be able to get him down the stairs when the elevators don't work with the power cut off
And he gets killed for the dumbest plot reasons. Rick was mostly cringe throughout the seasons, except for that episode when he bit that guy's neck. Shane would've been a great ingredient to the whole show.
Clearly, Shane thought Rick was dead, was crushed by that belief, and his final act of blocking the door to presumably keep walkers from eating Rick's body ultimately saved Rick's life. Then he rescued Rick's wife and son and kept them alive until Rick returned. Only for 90% of Walking Dead fans to be like, "Shane sucks! He slept with Lori!". 🤦♂🤦♂🤦♂
Garbage nothing but garbage the walking dead is a disappointment to zombies fans it's cheesy and more gore crap then a good series of anything kingdom is better and makes more sense and has a better and more believable realistic story and the zombies are more terrifying thare is nothing good and the walking dead I used to be a fan but is a got older and more mature I started to notice how terrible and cheesy the walking dead was and stopped watching it waiting for a good zombie series then I found kingdom and it's great
you are mean to the serie, for a serie of the zombies genre, they are the first, for the time the series is incredible, the zombies too, the series is more than 10 years old, when it came out it was incredible, yes you you have grown old, but so have I, and I have good memories during this period
Considering the fact that they shot patients on sight Rick, is VERY lucky to be alive. It was so close to being shanes story.
Phew, thank god Shane put that bed over the door to avoid walkers and or the army.
Yes 👍
Probably because he was in a coma and the soldiers knew the zombies would eventually get it to him.
Did they shoot ▄︻̷̿┻̿═━一 em caus thought of infection or such or prevent tbh?
Rick is a scrawny punk 🅱️itch lol it should've been Shane's show
He did the best he could while surrounded by enemies.

Agreed the show runners after him did a terrible job at casting
shane is really a good friend
Was till he tried to kill Rick to steal his family
Correction "WAS" a good friend
yea up until he got his wife who he probably always loved and then tried to rape her but yea a really good friend

Shane and Rick were like brothers it wasn't until that two-timing Lori Rick's wife started messing with Shane's head

I agree. The show became goofy as the seasons went on.
Breaking Bad was also straight to TV. It wasn't based on a comic book series.
I only watched the first season of this show, and this scene always stuck with me.
