The prison era was some of the best walking dead ever
Nahhh
Exactly!
I personally think that after prison and pre Alexandria was the best. The group wandering in the woods splitting and again regroup sanctuary arc and also the Grady memorial hospital arc were best.
Oh hell yea man that governor

I love the smile on Rick's face in the tower. He was so proud of his group clearing the prison yard. I love the prison episodes.
And if it happened today as it happened back then, he Would yell “WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT!”
Yes!!!!!!!

Rick The Winner :)
i love it too the prison was their first home god i miss these episodes
“That small group we had back in the beginning, we could do anything. That was right. That’s what I know.” ~ Daryl
But they almost die so many times . I mean do you remember that time in "those who arive, survive' place . Where they olmost got eaten . Alexandria, hill top and the kingdom is way sever for both the fighters and the families

What episode?

@@mihailandreev185 my reply or the original comment?
Rick risking his life to close the gate himself even after Glen volunteered to do it. That is a great leader move right there.
1:57 this is why Rick is a savage leader and my favorite character.. he just came out with a plan in a matter of seconds, he reconize everyones habilities and where they would be better positioned
Not to mention that he volunteered to take the most dangerous job even after Glenn offered to do it.
This was TWD on its prime. Good times.
Well its still on demand😒
@@preethinair4418 Yeah, but the new episodes aren't this good anymore.
True but it is still the series that we all love since 10 years.
Don't know why you pepole don't like the new seasons, all are amazing
@@sfogel Seasons 7-10 are way worse than 1-6. Anyway, 10B has been good, not this good, but it's watchable.
This season was perfect. The group still had some of their innocence from the old world but were ready to get their hands dirty and were more aware of the danger of other survivors
yep and by season 5 they all turned into proffessional killers haha and after all the saviors war they were all decorated veterans , and any other threat that came after the saviors , was just another day
@@lonewolf_0073 s9 was a differently beast. They were used to fighting humans/walkers head on. The Whisperers were based through guerrilla warfare/sabotage. Alex/Hill/King lost quite a few veterans bc of complacency after beating the Saviors.

Wasn’t really waste they were clearing out the area so they could camp out
@@crazykid18841 Or they could have just kill them all through the fence since they were walking toward them. Like they were already doing in fact, before they decide to have some fun and waste ammo

I always wondered why they never tried to find another prison after this one fell. If there’s one type of structure that’s abundant in our country is correctional facilities.
they had to follow the Screenplay
Agreed. If they cleared out this whole prison, and didn’t have War with the Governor, they could literally live there for years maybe even their whole lives.
@@fakeaccount5272 it kinda makes me sad when this prison fell after the war with the governor, like they had to abandon so many supplies and weapons, i always think about the weapons that we're left behind
@@cptnhelldrvr182 True true
Because after finding Alexandria, it’s just an overall more comfortable place to live. Safer as well
The fact this now counts as nostalgia makes me sad. I remember watching the episodes every single day when there was nothing else to do

Totally agree Michael Silundika
Just re-watched season 3 , it’s my favourite ever , the prison is iconic and the governor is badasss , Merle retuning and daryl’s inner conflict between the loyalty to the group or the loyalty to his blood. Such a good season
I remember this episode like yesterday. I really thought that they can finally start over, create a settlement, improve the prison, and have a happy ending.
The smile on ricks face seeing his group clearing the prison, I love it
Still one of the best scenes from the whole show, back in the glory days. I don't agree with people who say "TWD isn't about walkers anymore", because if they show was literally just about killing zombies, don't you think it would've gotten old fast? But this is classic TWD and I love it! I was actually going to watch this episode today 😂
I mean, they are correct. Back in 1-6 it was focused on walkers but still had people. Then in 7-8 it was just people with a bit of walkers. 9-10 is back to mainly walkers.
I love 1-6 season, then it became a nightmare and I stop watching when Carl and Rick disappeared and die
@@spooditt6968 The show is not about walkers
no, TWD is about surviving in a zombie apocalypse, this includes surviving people, animals, the weather, diseases and obviously zombies

Best squad the walking dead had so far.
Carol causally shooting the Rifle and almost hitting Rick with Rick giving Carol the “Really” look will always be funny as hell
Damn I miss Rick Grimes.
Lets hope he returns in season 11.

damn I miss when the walking dead was rick and the group trying to get by, walkers were the biggest threat, no huge groups or anything, just a plain out zombie show.
Daryl: “That’s a shame.” Rick: “It’s perfect.” So glad you did this throwback video, especially since the Talk Dead To Me podcast skipped to S3E8.
It's weird watching this seeing how they actually seem to be afraid of the walkers. Now the walkers are just an inconvenience, characters can have a philosophical discussion with walkers approaching and only break the flow of conversation when the walkers get so close they have to deal with them.
yea they walked through a horde like it's nothing
This was such a big win for the group and easily most heart warming moment in TWD for me
The only thing that bugs me about this scene is the complete lack of recoil every time someone shoots a gun, it’s literally just a mini flash at the end of the gun to signify a shot lmao
exactly it shouldn't be such an issue but it makes it unwatchable for me. Surprised that this is the only comment pointing it out
This was one of my favorites of the prison! Rick always tried to protect his group, even putting himself in danger.
seasons 1-6 were my favourite. I loved them working as a group, finding a place to live and clearing it out and making it a home and a community.
Alright listen, I love T-Dog, but can we take a moment to appreciate the fact that he is one of the few people in this group that is able-bodied and knows how to use weapons but was so useless to the writers of the show that Rick didn't even say his name when he was giving out orders? Like I get him not saying Lori cause she's pregnant but like come on man
This kind of ties in to what the original plan for his and Carol's characters were. Allegedly, Carol was going to get killed off in "Killer Within", seemingly with either T-Dog surviving or both getting killed. T-Dog's actor kept showing up late to set, which led the producers to change it so that he was essentially pushed out of the narrative from the beginning of the third season and Carol's fate changed so that she survived.
That whole debacle, and what they did to Andrea later in the season, is part of the reason why Glen Mazzara was sacked as showrunner by the end of Season 3.
Amazing season
Season 3 was one of if not the best season
This scene in my opinion is one of the best scenes in the walking dead
Literally every one is dead except for Daryl rick and carol also Maggie
Hi Not Rick. I think u mean Michonne

Never thought a character like Carol would survive the entire series and end up becoming one of the best, smart, cold, courageous, intelligent, warm and strong character. She nailed it and became awesome.
later on (can't remember which season) Daryl says to rick 'back at the beginning when we were on the road, we could do anything'. They really could and that's when the show was at its best. I liked it when it was more concentrated. It's too big IMO
The Walking Dead has had its fair share of ups and downs but the first 5 seasons are just so damn good. Basically everyone watched it.
A show can't remain as good if it loses its essence and that is the characters that we saw grow and evolve over the years... i.e. Carl, he wasn't the best actor but seeing him grow up in the show and watching Chandler portrait so many amazing scenes was more than enough to keep him around to see his comic arc with Lydia
2:15 I love how he says “I’ll run for the gate” like he knows doesn’t want too but he is the group leader and wants to keep his people out of danger
I love how later the governor is like genuinely aweshocked that they managed to take the prison when he fully believed it Could NOT be done. It goes to show you the pure determination and sheer fucking will Rick's group had at that time.
It also told him, with his psychopathic tendencies, that Rick was a threat to his operation because he was tactically capable. Also, Rick knew his group's limits. They didn't try to take it all at once - they broke it up in sections and explored little by little.
3:27 securing a safe zone in dying light be like
This is the first episode I remember watching when it first aired. Most nostalgic episode for me.
I binged watched TWD season 1-4 a few summers ago, then casually watched seasons 5-8, currently on season 9

One of my favourite scenes!
I love how the two sisters smile while shooting walkers. Both of them used to be so afraid of them
This show used to be so great. The cinematography following Rick and Daryl leading the group through the gate alley. Wish the show stayed as good as it once was.
The good old days
Twd best show
True, agreed
I never saw Carol laugh like that again
In season 10 when daryl and carol are in the wilderness and she catches the fish and laughs in daryls face
I never understood why they didn’t kill the walkers through the fence instead of wasting all those bullets.
I just rewatched season 1-5 in 5 days, miss those days.
May there be some good episodes ahead!
I love thé smile on rick's face un the tower .he was si proud of his group clearing prison yard😮
I always thought it would be Carl who would have to put down rick by putting a knife in his head and he would be the main man of the show taking care of Judith but it seems like it went completely opposite.
TV show and comic are different Daryl didn't even exist in the comics. If they do same as what is in the comics it would be predictable and boring
We can see the face of Daryl !
"It's perfect!" - classic
THE OG TEAM WAS REALLY A FAMILY 🥲😤🙏🏿☝🏿

Liked the prison and farm era ))
One of the best season premieres ever
First 4 seasons were awesome back in that days.
this were to old days when we prefer to stay up late at night just to watch our favorite film
There's a device for killing cattle that sends a bolt through their brain. That would be great to use on zombies.
Gotta love all those recoilless weapons.
To see rick leading the OGs again is amazing, we dont get to see that anymore...
The good old days when things were simple and not confusing
Dude this is one of my biggest gripes with the walking dead I could easily get over the fact that maggots would have killed all walkers in the walking dead within a week but these people behaved so dumb like this is life or death every day and they make such dumb choices stab every walker you can through the fence when u first get in then when your about to run to the gate you know stab as many as you can through the gate run around drag more to the fence stab more through the fence and repeat why waste ammo attracting more from all around
I miss how things were, but I like where they’re at, I miss Michonne and Rick though.
I remember how happy I was that episode and the episodes following it.
idk looking back on this I think this show could've used some nuance if they just showed them missing every once in a while. A bullet hit a walker in the shoulder, it staggers, an arrow just barely whizzes by and takes out an ear. Just seems impossible that untrained civilians have better aim than most soldiers on a small moving target.
My boy Rick had a giant light bulb in his head Ding Ding!!!
merle: that prison cannot be taken ... 10 people with few weapons took it and had an 9 months pregnant, a child, a teenager and an old man
So suddenly everyone goes from never shooting a gun in their life to becoming long distance headshot marksmen
I miss those days 😭❤

@@agentumbra2374 not really
Gotta be honest season 9 was crap but season 10 is bringing a ginormous comeback and nobody even knows
This is a whole different kind of TWD compared to today.
I never understood this scene. Why not just draw them all to the fence little by little and stab them through the fence? They wouldn't have wasted all that ammo and Rick wouldn't have had to take risks running through the yard.
If people in this show were smart, it would be boring for the viewers.
