This vid is a great insight to how this song came about. Funny how the urban legend about it originally being a song about a serial killer... IS COMPLETELY TRUE! LOL And these guys seem like they are genuinely really good friends - there's a great chemistry there.

This made my year- this song has been a favorite of mine since first grade and I just recently started learning a lot more about the origin and to hear not only the way it actually came about but to hear them do it live on a piano that sounds straight out of hell was just incredible!

Knew this guy from California when he lived in San Fernando over 35 years ago. Watched Michael jump off his trampoline when he was filming video for Cocoon. RIP Danny, he was so cool when we visited his Venice apartment.

I love that the true story is how the song was not FOR the movie "Maniac", but it was basically FROM the movie "Maniac." And then it ends up becoming a #1 smash hit for a different movie. The through-line is that it's a banger from a great singer and a hugely talented composer.
