Picked my MY up on Friday from Glasgow, Scotland. Very similar pickup experience to yours, I had to sign one document on a tablet, otherwise no need to speak to a human at all. Coming from a Range Rover, I think the ride is perfectly acceptable, the build quality is absolutely fine on my car and I've been very pleased with it so far.
Shanghai and Berlin made Model Ys are lightyears ahead when it comes to build quality compared to Fremont. Texas seems to do a better job than Fremont as well.
Are you saying the ride comfort is good? It's the only thing putting me off buying one. I do a lot of rural driving in Northern Ireland and UK reviews say that it's a huge issue.
@@c0mbat15 I test drive the model y last year, and it was perfectly sporty ride. I guess it is a bit rougher than what you find in family suvs, but a Mercedes gle 53 amg also has a bit firm ride and road noise like model y because both are sporty cars. You should be fine with a model y. Do take one for a test drive if possible
@@c0mbat15 Tesla continously made many changes to the suspension and the 2022 models are not comparable to the 2021 models anymore. I can't complain about the ride quality on my 2022 Model Y. Sure, it is still on the slightly sportier side but it rides pretty smoothly even on concrete and cobblestone roads and takes speed bumps without breaking your spine.
Ordered my LRMY in March 2022. We were originally scheduled for delivery in October. Then the date was pushed to November/December. Received it last Saturday, September 15th in excellent condition.
I took delivery of an Austin made LRMY on 9-15-22 in Minnesota that was ordered on 3-4-22. We did white with gemeni wheels and did the tow hitch. Only obvious difference is no matrix headlights on my Tesla. Similar estimated delivery fluctuations and accepted delivery in app as well. I overlooked $200 credit email to order mobile connector and didn’t realize until I took delivery. Great car, rides fantastic and love it so far. I catch all your vids Ryan! Thanks for all the info.
It's good to hear, but it's not clear how much they really addressed it, versus how much was due to Ryan getting the right wheels. I've never compared the exact same car with std vs large wheels, but I got a Model X loaner with large wheels while my Model S was in for service. I couldn't wait to get my car back because the ride was so much nicer.
Ryan, I took delivery of a Model Y from Fremont 6 days before you did. Number 536,016. Like yours...Gemini wheels, matrix headlights. I agree, the build quality and ride are great, better than our 2018 Model 3. One difference between your new car and ours, no cargo cover on ours! But then my name isn't Ryan Shaw! Keep the great videos coming.
I took MY delivery yesterday. You actually can ask them to unlock for you to check interior before accepting delivery. But… I mean unless you are willing to wait for next batch, there isn’t much you can do during the delivery process, which they request reporting all defects to “Service” after you accept the delivery. I am not sure if they can address any issue for you onsite. Congrats for the new car!
Ok. I need to say this. Your videos improve constantly. Your attention to detail ( door shutting scene ) if off the scale. This tells me as a subscriber. That you care. You put the work in. You actually do. Damn damn good job. Keep improving. I see it. I appreciate it. And I spread the word to whoever I can about the level of quality in your videos. Very very impressed.
Just took delivery of my 2022 MY performance. Ordered Sept 19, delivered Oct 13. Thrilled with the vehicle. Initial quality was excellent, panel gaps are consistent and tight, the car is free from any squeaks and rattles. I was a bit concerned about what tires the car would come with but I was very happy to see the Michelin All Seasons on the Uberturbines. The car did have ultrasonic sensors installed (good news) but didn’t have a cargo cover (slightly bad news). I was trading in a car and the whole process at the delivery center took maybe 10 minutes! Very happy!
I took delivery of my MY LR on Sept 21. Fremont build. It also has ultrasonic (worrying that Musk will have it turned off as he did with those that had radar) and no cargo cover. Curious, did yours have the carpet going up the sides in the passenger area as shown on Ryan's? Mine didn't have that either, which I am very bummed about. It does have carpet in the door cupholder area. I can't believe how quickly you got yours - less than a month. I ordered mine Oct. 2021, so it took almost a year! I only made a change from black to white seats but only a couple of months before delivery and it didn't change my date, or at lease not right away.
9:35 - The refresh rate of the screen is still the same as your previous Model Y at 60Hz, but the old Atom chip just couldn't run many things at that framerate which is why your previous Model Y's screen felt slower. The Ryzen chip on the new models is epic and things actually run at 60FPS now.
Enjoyed this review, especially since I took delivery of the exact same configuration 2 days after you. Took delivery of my first MY Sept 2020. Totally agree with you on the improved ride - good to hear it wasn’t just my experience! SO GLAD you and some others mention having received cargo covers - I did not so just sent Tesla a text with the link to this video - fingers crossed! Oh BTW, when I’m at my 96 year old dad’s house, he really enjoys your videos - he calls you the “drummer guy”😊
I took delivery of my Model 3 in June of 2021. Right in the thick of Covid. I picked my car up in Vaughan, ON which is right outside of Toronto. My experience was much different. I had a salesperson meet me at the car, he allowed me to inspect it both inside and outside for about 20 minutes before I signed anything. Thankfully they had it all detailed and perfect. I did a full 360 inspection, the car was actually perfect and had no issues whatsoever. The salesperson then came out, he asked me if I was happy with the product. I signed and then he offered to answer any questions I had. Great experience overall!
Most locations will let you inspect the interior of the car if you go inside to sign the paperwork, they will let you inside so you can inspect before you accept delivery in the app.
When we picked up our M3LR 3 months ago at PDX, the sales lady was very nice, and without us asking came out with us, opened up the car, allowed us to go all the way through it and do our inspection (we had brought checklists), and then just told us to let us know when done and if there were any issues before accepting delivery. So maybe each location is different, but our experience was very good and allowed to take as much time as we wanted without even asking!
Man I've been waiting since December 2021. Original delivery window was in July 3rd-11. I've had the Vin now for a month and the delivery window continues to be pushed out further. The car has been paid for by the finance company. Hopefully we take delivery soon
EVERY car can use a little extra sound dampening. Pull back your carpets and have a friend drive you around while you listen in the back to find the biggest source of road noise. Buy sound deadening mats, a roll or two of butyl and matching roll(s) of foam. That will kill the rumble in the back. Cover each wheel well and put the rest over the rear pan. I've always added them to my cars, it's one afternoon of work and maybe $100. It'll last the life of the car with a night/day improvement.
I just took delivery of my second Y this week. Nov, 2, 2022. I refused to accept delivery until they unlocked it and let me see inside of the car. They completely understood, unlocked it and I was able to go through interior before accepting. My first delivery was June 2020 and it had over 18 issues including a massive break in the roof. This one only has a loose piece of plastic by hazard light on roof. Feels WAAAAY better than the 2020
My 2020 MY was perfect and still is..I went into the Tesla shop to order, they found one the same day at the Tesla outlet 200 miles away. Picked it up the next day...no gaps, no paint issues..no whining here..
It’s super interesting. I got my Model Y in November 2020, with the 19 inches Gemini wheels. Since then, I’ve had 0 issue and the car came with no cosmetic issue either. The walk on cloud ride quality was from day one, it’s vastly better than any other car than I’ve been in since then.
I rented a 2022 Model Y long range build in China with 10K miles on it delivered early April 2022 and had no rattles and no quality build issues at all. Convinced me over actually buying one.
just saw you live in Monrovia - just did a standup show there. im so excited to buy a tesla and have a fun car to take to gigs, i truly think this will be a great career upgrade! have you made any videos about writing the car off as a business expense?
Wise choice on smaller rims - looks like they come with ‘tall’ sidewalls on the tires that improves cushioning of the ride. I think the super-wide oval tires w/ hardly any sidewalls are a style fad that will end when owners catch on & prefer tires for ordinary driving - NOT NASCAR !!
Great video Ryan!! Me and the family picked up our model Y LR with a third row option this past Saturday at the Tesla Burbank location. I’m blown away by the superior build quality over our 2020 model 3 LR, it’s more refined, quiet, spacious, and just feels much more solid. After 10 months of waiting after my initial order, it was worth the wait!!!
I received my model Y LR in June '22. I didn't get the cargo cover but was wondering if this Fremont produced car has the front giga casting? What do you suppose?
I was surprised you received the cargo cover. We picked up our model Y with the exact same configuration you have 1 month ago, built in Fremont without the cargo cover. Also, the lead time is drastically reduced. We ordered ours in Nov 2021 and picked up mid- august
FYI, I took delivery of my MYLR Aug 30. My EDD jumped around a lot also; then it went from over a month away to sitting in my garage in the space of four days! Mine is an Austin build, no options. Everything was almost perfect, but I did not check the frunk. Labor Day weekend, you guessed it, the frunk would not latch which limited me to 15mph. Fortunately, after about 30 tries, it latched. Mobile service came out two days later and repaired, only to have it fail again, the next time I tried it…this time in my garage. Again, mobile service cam and hopefully now it is really fixed. BASED ON YOU VIDEOS, I had low expectations for ride, noise and build quality. Needless to say, I was blown away what now truly is a premium car. There are things I wish it had such as cooled seats, 360 view, rear cross traffic alert and I wish Blind Spot gave an audible warning when you signaled. Things really important to a 75-year old me. However, I really appreciate that almost everything I want to change while driving can simplify be done by voice.
I actually picked mine up same dealer couple months ago. I actually just asked to speak to manager and then manager unlocked the car so i can check before accepting delivery
Thanks Ryan, may still drop my Ionic 5 for one of these, just wished the matrix headlights were standard on the Long Range Model Y. This would be the exact configuration I would order, but I would add the tow hitch. And there is the rumour of the high resolution radar coming soon to a Tesla model Y!
@@Berretotube I am still waiting for my car, was to be here in May then July, now looks like October. Cannot wait for it but may sell if Model Y prices come down by a few $K.
I’ve seen a few videos where people mention they wish the matrix headlights were standard. But Ryan just said Tesla doesn’t do much with them aside from a bit of adjustment (which you may not want to do yourself as it was under the service tab?) So would you actually get anything out if? I get they could potentially do things but that may be a few years down the line right?
I had a 3XXXX 2020 Model Y and there were a lot of little issues but overall I was pleased with the car. I had a hydroplaning accident earlier this year and the 2020 was totaled. while I was waiting for the insurance to deal with the final payment I ordered another exact dupl (same color, same gemini wheels). I was expecting getting it in Jan-April 2023 and then suddenly I got a text at the beginning of august saying my car was ready. Fremont version. did notice the passenger lumbar missing. However, I also noticed the change in the ride as well as the road noise reduction (without me adding the insulation strips from amazon like I did for the first model). I attribute part of the noise reduction was the windows which were the dual layer this time. Overall, things have improved a lot. The thing I didn't get was the cargo cover, but not really a loss. Totally a better car than the 2020...
Congrats on the new Y! I just picked mine up on Sept 10. I got MSM/White Int/20”. I also got the new interior trim and matrix lights. I had a similar delivery experience as you, but I had the kind delivery staff open the car so I could inspect the interior before accepting the car. My car rides a bit harder than I was hoping for, but I imagine it’s due to the induction wheels…still better compared to my friends 2021 MYP!
Did you check the tyre pressures? They’re notorious for delivering them pumped to 50 psi here in the UK. No idea why, it ruins the ride. I took a pressure gauge to my collection day and dropped them to 45. Much better!
@@greymiller8231 yeah it’s Freemont MYLRs manufactured since August 15, 2022. So, VINs from approximately NF518___ to sometime allegedly in October. It’s a temporary supply chain shortage in the usual MYLR headlights that will allegedly be resolved next month but IDK. Note: no Austin built cars were affected by this headlight supply shortage.
Model Y rocks!! I LOVE MY TESLA!!!! Best car I have ever owned by far (Tesla is my 13th car). Hand down, no question....amazing. And it keeps getting better and better!!!! (2022 Mid silver metallic, 20" Induction wheels, Long Range All-Wheel, five seat, FSD).
Great video, it is quite unique to hear about a thorough comparison between an ownership experience btwn an early built Y and a new 22 model. Thanks man! 🙌
Got my MYLR last Weds, came from Shanghai, am based in UK. Can attest that it’s miles ahead of what I test drive in terms of ride comfort, the matrix headlights are great (although no matrix functionality as of yet), and it is an absolute joy to ride. So smooth and quiet. The rear boot cover came included too and really helps eliminate cabin noise.
Thank you for helping me make my decision on which model to go with. I'm particularly glad to see the 2022 version of the Y improve on your concerns with the 2020's ride quality.
It's really the thicker tires on a 19" wheel that are making the difference, not the wheels. More sidewall= better ride. Great looking ride though and congratulations on your new whip!
I’m glad you didn’t bring any camera mounts, that shot at 7:35 is gorgeous! I feel like the Tesla community doesn’t focus on the glass roof anymore but the glass roof on the model Y is sooo nice.
We've noticed a good quality build in our MYLR taken delivery in June of this year. We don't have the new door cards, matrix headlights, or the rear cargo cover, but the ride is a lot better than when we test drove one in the summer of 2021.
You don’t need to accept delivery to get inside. You have to go inside and speak with an employee who can unlock it for you to check it out prior to accepting delivery. Took delivery on a Model 3 LR in Late June.
Picked up my MYL Dec 2020 and never spoke to anyone. App got me in the car keys and paperwork were inside in Fed Ex envelope. Drove the car home filled out the paperwork for the loan, tags, title and just mailed back to Tesla via Fed Ex. Received my permanent tags about 3 weeks later and that was it. 35K miles later zero issues with the car.
I concur with the build quality. I was very skeptical at first from hearing everything online but my 2022 Model Y Performance's build quality is honestly perfect. The only thing I kind of wished it had was adjustable suspension which is definitely on the stiff side. I know a lot of new performance vehicles in the same price range have adjustable suspension so I hope Tesla can implement this.
I took the delivery of my Model Y on Sep 17th and the Tesla guy unlocked the car before accepting the delivery in the App. I would definitely not accepted it before looking at the interior.
From day one there was clear evidence (Sandy Monroe channel) that model Y may have future options for air suspension. I have never been a fan of it, but on Tesla's it seems essential to achieve the refinement other OEM's seem to achieve through other means. On Land Rovers it's an expensive nightmare to keep functioning properly.
Yes! Had the exact same delivery experience in Fremont, CA. Only after you click accept, you could get in the car. However, you do have 24 hours to report problems for after fix. If you found problems, be sure to report them before driving 100 miles.
Jealous of the cover! I just got my MYP a month ago, VIN is 520,000+ but on the other hand I still got the mobile charger even though I was well past the cut off. Win some, lose some.
My Y ride is very stiff, our road is a rotten mess, so we really get bounced around every time we drive down my road. But, it’s by far the most amazing car I’ve ever ridden.
Congratulations Ryan. I took delivery of my model y two weeks ago didn’t have a cargo cover. I asked Tesla they say they don’t know what I am talking about. I even sent them the video link. 🎉
I had family members take delivery of their performance model y within the same exact timeframe as you taking yours. They did not get the cargo cover like yours did but they got all the other stuff. They had a small misalignment issue with the hatch but it was fixed right then and there by the technicians. No other build quality issues found. Btw to anyone accepting a tesla soon themselves: The family members were able to ask the Tesla guys to unlock that model y for them so they could analyze the interior before accepting delivery. So you can probably do that as well if you want to check everything inside and out before accepting delivery of yours!
I took delivery of my Model Y on 9/19/22. Only drove it across town before leaving it for a full PPF wrap. My car was a Fremont build with no parcel shelf. I forgot to check the headlights. I assume, as a Californian, yours was a Fremont build too?? Curious to know. Thanks for the review! (BTW: traded in my 2018 red/white LR Model 3 for the Model Y. This was the first time in my life when I've driven a brand new car off the lot with a small feeling of remorse....loved that car! But I'm 6'4" and 68 so entry/egress is becoming more important to me!) Again, thanks!
I took delivery of my Model Y last September. I got the white exterior, white interior, and Gemini wheels BECAUSE of your UA-cam channel and your experience with the red paint job and bigger wheels. I’ve never driven a early model Y with bigger wheels to compare, but my Model Y drives fantastically. Build quality was perfect too.
I can attest to what Ryan said. Took delivery last week and the qualy blew me away. I have a 2020 M3 and the Y build Quality is so much better. Also the ride is awesome.
Got same car coming! Went from Dec '22-Feb'23. Then it went briefly to Jan-Mar '23 (gulp!) and now it's dropped down to Oct 31-Dec 5 2022. It's been a rollercoaster! Ryan, you're one of the main reasons I went for Y LR and standard wheels.
Congratulations, my Y is 23 months old and last week I took my car in looking to find the noise coming from the front. After 5 hours waiting, it's done, I hope. They ended up replacing the upper front control arms ,then decide later on the sound must have been back so they replaced both lower lateral links assembly. Car is riding tighter we noticed. Quality control in Tesla is definitely not within J D Power's listing
Congrats I picked mine up exactly a day earlier (on 14th Sept) here in New Zealand. We do not get the long range but RWD and Performance so i have the RWD. Excellent so far, no quality issues but we do not get the boot shelf. The ride is definitely on the stiffer side but nothing deal-breaking. First ever EV I have owned so i'm over the moon!
I'm getting ready to buy my/our first ev. Trying to decide bw the Ioniq5 and the Y. I know there's a big price diff, but cabin noise, ride quality, and the layout of controls, etc are important. Range is somewhat important but not a deal maker/killer since I use it 99% of the time for daily commute to the office and various local courthouses, and I can charge it nightly at our house. Helpful comments welcome... 👍
Still waiting on my MYP, after switching from blue to black (since blue is not even being made yet, original delivery date in April this year). I'm just hoping the Germans show up with their A-game later this year.
7:10 You can see the passenger door rise up when it gets closed and fall a little when you open the door. It is a misaligned door! Either the door hinges need realigned to keep the door up or the door latch in the door jam needs realigned to not make the door rise. You can see it happening when you operate the door.
I'm one of the opposites. my early 2021 Y LR was pretty much flawless. It was missing some features like heated steering wheel and the new console. Fast forward to July 2022. We received our new Y-P and it's been the opposite experience of our first Y. 1) Missing paint 2) Ding in the door 3) Rattles Rattles Rattles (Can't really determine these at delivery since you have to drive it) 4) minor scratches in the glass 3 out of 4 of those issues have been resolved. Rattles will be tackled soon. Pleasant surprises were the bioweapon defense mode. I already knew I was getting the updated chip which was a must for us. Lithium battery is welcomed and the ride quality of the P vs our old Y was very surprising. While there is more road feel and noise, absorption of bumps is much better and greatly reduces the kick in the back feeling when hitting bumps in our old Y. We're starting to develop a black screen on startup. It's happened 4 times but a simple reboot fixes the issue. I'm hoping this doesn't become a bigger issue.
That's odd, cause when I took delivery of my 2022 Model Y on June 30Th, I was allowed to inspect the car in and out before confirming delivery.... perhaps is a new policy
Hey Ryan, congrats on the car. I have a couple of questions for you: when you are picking up the car, what are some of the things that would make you reject the car? Also, for the car interior, you have to accept delivery in order to enter a car? What if you find some thing that you don’t like inside? Like something is not working
Hey Ryan we are car siblings! I took delivery of my white Y on 9/7 in Fremont, vin F542***. It has the wrap around wood trim and matrix headlights. But no cargo cover.
Congrats Ryan and a good review. We picked up Model Y last Tuesday and we are loving it. Have you noticed there is a grinding noise from the front when you make sharp left or right turns?
I bought the Y p over 2 years ago. I immediatly bought 18" wheels to get the ride softened up. Frunk open alarms was the only big issue. still driving it. Love the car...
Great video Ryan! Love the comparison to your older MY. I recently took delivery of my Fremont Model Y and it did not come with the cargo cover. I had no issues with the overall quality, but 150 miles driving a rattle sound from center console appears. Still having trouble finding what exactly is rattling ..
Congrats Ryan. Nice to seen the improvements. We’re getting one like this in Toronto this December. The rear cargo cover is great to see. Ooo… matrix headlights? Cool. Did you get the Li-ion 12V battery?
Awesome video Ryan - the Model Y is a superbly built, high performance, EV mega car now. Fast. Safe. Spacious. Phenomenal. I love that you have seen and documented the hyperdrive evolution of Tesla. What a car, what a company.
Thanks for the video - the car looks great. Congratulations! I picked my 2022 Model 3 in March, here in Christchurch NZ, and found no issues at all. A friend of mine who also recently picked up a Model 3 also found no issues. These cars came from the Shanghai plant in China. I have done over 8000km in the last 6 months and so far no rattles with normal roads, although on a very rough road (which there are some to found in NZ) there are some slight rattles - will be interesting to see if they start showing up on normal roads. That all said I have a friend who got a Model 3 performance late last year and he has had a window washer pump replaced and now a battery pack (taking a month to get replaced)!
I live in Dubai and find your channel quite informative. I recently took delivery of my MYLR here in Dubai (giga Shanghai) and it has LUMBAR support that works. Maybe this feature is only missing from USA cars? Just wanted to let you know.
I got my Fremont made 2022 Model Y on the 16th of Sep here in Jacksonville, Fl. after a wait of over a year. Same configuration as Ryan with the addition of the tow hitch. Very nice. Lots of compliments on the white interior. I did not receive a cargo cover though and a cargo cover is not listed on the Tesla website. Tesla service will be here tomorrow to see about a blemish in the rear trunk removeable floor. Other than that, I found no issues with the exterior or interior of the car. I have experienced phantom braking occasionally but not too bad. Mechically, the passenger side window rolled itself down about half way on two or three occasions. I recalibrated the window (see owners manual) and it seems to be alright for now. It can rain any time in Florida so having your windows up keeps things dry. The ride is not too bad considering the weight of the car. I suspect the tires will have a short life span though. I'm 5'10" tall. Getting in and out of the car is easier than my wife's Camry so that is a plus for me especially at my age (69). I'm rather bulky (under-tall) as a wannabe weight lifter and semi pro-eater. Thanks Ryan for the review. It's always good to see something I bought being reiviewed in a timely manner. Update: Tesla service arrived 40 minutes early and replaced the rear floor panel. He said the damage was probably caused by the Gemini tire covers that are shipped inside the vehicle. He also said that recalibrating the window was what I needed to do so all appears well. Great service BFO (blinding flash of the obvious). Did I mention he was early???
Curious, I recieved my MY LR 5 seater on 9/21/22 Fremont build, no cargo cover. Does yours have the carpet going up toward the cargo area in the passenger area as Ryan indicated in his video? Mine doesn't have that either. It is still plastic.Bummed. Mine does have the matrix headlights.

Thanks for the review Ryan. We're getting our MYLR delivered today after waiting 11 months. Same build config as yours!
The Computer built into this car is more powerful than the one in my 2 year old laptop
Did you end up getting the cargo cover? I also took delivery the same day and did not receive them.
@@vincentchan9988 I just commented and then notice I am not alone. I am around Fremont, and it was delivered to my home. No cargo cover.
@@vincentchan9988 No - Tesla confirmed they’re not included, at least in Massachusetts.
Cargo covers aren’t included in all model Y and tesla will not give you one post delivery
@@flavioa6351 I have cargo coverwith my MY in
I took delivery of my Model 3 in June of 2021.
Honestly that new camera angle is awesome, the sky view is so nice :)
I got mine but in black last year in June. I always wait at least a year. I also got it in Buena Park.
I got my Y performance today. Only took two weeks to get
It’s super interesting.
I picked up my Fremont built MY on 9/9/22. No cargo cover. How does one determine which headlights are installed?
@@sleggo do the headlights really even make a difference? I don’t mean with potential features, more like right now?
Same. Took delivery of my Y with same configuration Sept. 3rd. No cargo cover. Weird.
@@Samuel-nf3pm I’d just like to know.
@@sleggo Wow, we got the delivery on the same day. Mine is delivered to home.
Just got a service notification that my 2014 model s will be retro fitted with the new CCS adapter so there are some big changes coming for all
I've been waiting for this video! Finally!! :)
How have you found the Ionic 5, Bert?
@@Berretotube I am still waiting for my car, was to be here in May then July, now looks like October. Cannot wait for it but may sell if Model Y prices come down by a few $K.
@@berthogendoorn2133 good luck and enjoy, whatever you end up getting!
Don’t buy the model y now because prices have gone up 11k in one year.
I’ve seen a few videos where people mention they wish the matrix headlights were standard.
But Ryan just said Tesla doesn’t do much with them aside from a bit of adjustment (which you may not want to do yourself as it was under the service tab?)
So would you actually get anything out if?
Can you tell by the VIN if your car has the matrix headlights?
Congrats Ryan, I appreciate your honest comments and feedbacks! Thanks.
Great video, it is quite unique to hear about a thorough comparison between an ownership experience btwn an early built Y and a new 22 model. Thanks man! 🙌
Great to hear how much you like it, and the great improvements they have made.
How can I tell if I’m getting a 2022 or 2023 Tesla model 3? I’m picking it up next week.
You don’t need to accept delivery to get inside. You have to go inside and speak with an employee who can unlock it for you to check it out prior to accepting delivery. Took delivery on a Model 3 LR in Late June.
It also depends on how your delivery is. Mine was home delivery and was given no choice to go to a tesla site.
Same here. Rep gave me the key cards and said just don’t move it
Exactly .. not sure why he had too
Congrats on the new Y!
7:45 is such a cool perspective!
Yes! Had the exact same delivery experience in Fremont, CA. Only after you click accept, you could get in the car. However, you do have 24 hours to report problems for after fix. If you found problems, be sure to report them before driving 100 miles.
You can get 18 inch wheels if you want to improve ride quality more and add range too.
Model Y pick up twinsies! I picked up my 7 seater last weekend and drove it straight to a PPF shop. Still waiting to actually bring it home :D
I appreciate your patience with Y and Teslas service.
The trim on the doors is a nice upgrade. I just wish you could get black seats but with the white dash trim….
I can attest to what Ryan said. Took delivery last week and the qualy blew me away. I have a 2020 M3 and the Y build Quality is so much better. Also the ride is awesome.
Got my performance august 1st… best car I ever owned by miles away … love it
Got same car coming!
Hey when did you place the order? Mine has weird times too but now is stuck in December 2022
@@swiftMyDay I placed the order April 13
Cooled seats would be my number one requested addition to the Model Y
Happy to hear about the drive quality. This was something I know has made many people to not like Tesla as much as they wanted to like it.
I have an early 2021 Y and it doesn't have a harsh ride. This was acutely one of the things I was looking for back when I test drove one.
I think the perfect EV would be a mach-e gtpe with the tesla model y performance drivetrain, battery, and software.
1) Missing paint
2) Ding in the door
3) Rattles Rattles Rattles (Can't really determine these at delivery since you have to drive it)
4) minor scratches in the glass
3 out of 4 of those issues have been resolved.
It’s beautiful! Love the white on white ❤
Interesting about the suspension, glad to see they're improving what I found to be the worst aspect of the Y
Hey Ryan we are car siblings! I took delivery of my white Y on 9/7 in Fremont, vin F542***. It has the wrap around wood trim and matrix headlights. But no cargo cover.
How exciting I’ve had my model 3 months so great
I changed my blue sept 2020 on 19´´ for white on 20 ´´ 2022. I received new today and conform is good, i think is better 2020.🎉🎉
Congrats Ryan and a good review.
We picked up Model Y last Tuesday and we are loving it.
Have you noticed there is a grinding noise from the front when you make sharp left or right turns?
You rented out your Y and then it got rear ended, needed suspension work, and a new battery. Did I get that right? Was renting it worth it?
The window definitely hit the black panel the first time you closed it. You can see it hit and then pop back in the door frame
I noticed the same thing, hopefully the window does not break
Yes please keep us informed about any issue... I'm just about a month to make my final decision about buying a Y model, already tried and love it.
