- Today we embark on a theory crafting campaign of Eu4 where we stack any and all missionary strength that we can get to try and overcome the -100% missionary strength from recent conversion. As always, no exploits, and I will not use things I consider exploits, like disabling any DLC. As always, Ironman compatible, achievement supported and no custom nations use.

You actually need more than 100.3 missionary strength, since you have 10 year temporary modifiers you'd need 101.1333 strength to convert in the 10 year window. Which you are actually able to achieve.
I mean that's fair, it does also... literally take time to convert them I guess!
you need more, +2% advisor modifier is for 6 years
@@marcinkusmierzak991 yes, but you can hold of on it and pop the advisor modifier literally in the last second as you start the conversion (in theory) as that modifier doesn't depend on anything else apart from having the level 3 advisor up
@@LemonCake101 I know but you have 6 years to complete the conversion, not 10. This would require 1% more than doing it in 10 years. When bonus expires you can't finish it

The fact that those +10% vs heretics boni don't go away when you swap religion is insane.
It took me 5 irl days (not straight by coming back to it over time) to actually get there.

You forgot to form Sardinia-Piedmont to get a triggered mission event called "The Order of Saints Maurice and Lazarus" for another permanent +2% missionary strength.

Austria has a permanent +2 percent missionary strength from a mission, the Netherlands has 1 percent missionary strength vs heretics for 20 years, Poland has 1 percent missionary strength vs heretics permannent, saxony has +2 percent missionary strength for 20 years, prussia has +1 percent missionary strength for 20 years
Ah, thanks. That helps quite a bit to be fair, I remember going through the mission files and being left relatively disappointed. Well, thats at least what 7% more to add to the list. Good to know!

Its really been a while since the last upload! I have had a lot of things going on IRL, including but not limited to my computer breaking on me and taking 9 painfully long days to fix, as well as being bedridden with an illness for another 5 days in a row. A lot of fun! But I should be back now for a much more dense upload schedule, and I don't intend to ignore you for another month, I hope.
Otherwise, no this video has by far been the most painful one to do routing wise. I know I have said it before, but this one really takes the cake!

Did you mention that a muslim province has -2% local missionary strength? Also a tier two tax building gives 3% local missionary strength.
I did not, well spotted. Thankfully, getting +3 stab for 1.5% missionary strength, the spare 1% from the run itself and the ability to take holy orders makes it cancel out somewhat. Well done!

WOW! I wonder how long does it take to make such a video. That amount of random game mechanics and research must be insane. I wish you best luck, because you are probably one of most random creative people out there in EU4 community.
This one was around 5 days. Not full time, but 3 days (plus a week of mental routing, but that also involved several other routes I had in mind) of routing, and around 2 days of recording/editing (again, not doing this full time)
Tbf Orthodox Congo isn't that impossible in our reality. All we need is Russian ships arriving to Congo quicker, than ships from Catholic nations. Their leader would convert to Christianity anyway.

I once managed to, playing as ireland in the extended timeline mod, crawl back and preserve celtic paganism from only a few provinces left, in a situation with aggressive zealot spread. Without any special tricks, too. You can do anything if you pour resources into it.
Oh absolutely. I would say it sounds fun, but extended timeline and fun is a combination of words I rarely find myself putting together. But people have done Zoroastrian one faiths, so anything is possible!
I was thinking about that while i was going for a one faith wc run. Also it is good to have extra power because development also reduces the misionary strength. I believe it is not that high in gaza or jaffa but still you need to be able convert in a matter of years so yeah...

You can also use a Unno reverse card and just go Confucian and have both religion groups already assimilated.
Very Confucian answer - how do I convert a province that's impossible to convert? You don't want to convert it.
You can even dial it to eleven by starting with mughals and then turning Confucian. Move your capital to the new world(or Australia) to avoid colonial nations. Most wholesome world conquest ever.
Random question, have you ever seen a european great power tag loose to a minor native tags badly enough theat the european power has release nations in their mainland provinces?
I have seen it 3 or four times, and in every single one of those cases it was england vs. North American natives. And those was resulted in england havg to release alençon, isle of mann, cornwall, etc. Being released as native tribes with access to native ideas.
Not in 1.35, but from 1.31 to 1.33, natives could hold their own, ranging from doing okay to being shining teepees on a hill.
Honestly, no, but I mainly play MP where thats... not going to happen even with a bad England player, but I am yet to see that in SP...

I believe the league war win requires not being Shia so you lose around 6% from Shia monuments, and parliament requires... well a parliament which I don't think is doable as a theocracy but I may be just wrong there actually.
Did you count the act of uniformity (+1) and the advancement of religion act (+0.5)? And I think there are other national decisions that increase it, but I might be wrong.
I did check the national decisions, but they run into issues with all the religion flipping you have to do.

I certainly don`t think that Uncolonizing Jerusalem is directly an exploit... but that just relies on the Fact that Pdx didn`t patch it out in like 2 Major Patches... but anyways this was definetly one of if not the biggest and most thoughtful modifier stacking video that you`ve ever made and that I`ve ever seen on YT :)
Btw I am really sorry that the Holy War Conversion Modifier is only 3% and not 10% as I thought at first... that probably made your life a little bit more annoying to find the missing seven percent... although half of this comment section is again full of ideas on where to get more modifiers from... This Game is just to Big to handle I guess ;)

No worries about the second part, but thanks for bringing it up! I would have never found out about it myself, and its still 3% that went towards it. And of course, when you make a video on a topic, finally all the Eu4 experts on missionary strength reveal themselves. Just the nature of these things, its the reason I even said at the end: tell me what I missed!

There's prob like 10% more missionary strength that can be squeezed out, which theoretically should let the runner not get some of the great monuments that are annoying to get, while also letting them convert the recently converted province fast enough
I missed stability 1.5% and surprisingly a couple mission trees. I think the monuments are not the parts you want to skip though, skipping the trade good flip and the being enforced religiously thing is my top of the list stuff.

Yes, but I was wrong about their requirements, turns out for holy orders all you need is Primary culture Spanish and your good to use them.

I thought you may get like 30-40 and than some obscure percentage scaling factor that somehow pushes it over 100 %.
But stacking flat 1-10 % bonuses until you have 100 is insane xD
If i may suggest an idea for a future video. As boring as it seams, but stacking idea-cost reduction relative early into the game would be very interesting. Sure it's probably capped at 90 % or something, but you also get Mana-refunds for ditching groups. So it would be interesting to stack it as it would allow for a playstyle were you can switch ideas like your shoes. Imagine fighting a war with 2 mil idea groups, peacing it out with espionage diplo and than core it with admin. In peace time some Admin Groups for scaling!?

@@marishaberle6144 glad you enjoyed, I did set out on the project hoping to get to at least 50% to justify the video since I had a global 24% in a Mughal run a couple patches back, but I was very happy to manage to get it over the edge!

I will need to check with idea cost reduction, but for some cases like AE reduction stacking, you can get to the cap in literally 5 modifiers so it makes a video under a min long, hence I will need to check if the modifier stacking.. also makes an entertaining video in the process too. But I will give idea cost reduction another look, having playing MP a lot I am very aware how strong it can be.

Yes... that's why I have to clarify standard game setup, ironman compatible. Otherwise reaching something like 220% discipline becomes as easy as giving England +120% discipline in their starting ideas.
“Religious Zeal” is the worst fucking modifier in the game I will die on this hill. Half of Italy got converted to Protestantism by centres of religion in my Florence->Italy game and I had to wait forty fucking years to reconvert them. This is what made me despise Protestants. I am a Protestant.
Honestly, yes, I agree. I would understand if it was like 5% to make conversion harder if it has been recently converted, but it can be really crippling.

I recently tried to do a muscovy to hansa to russia campaign in ironman mode for the permanent mil bonuses. I rage quit shortly after forming hansa. For some stupid reason in order to form hansa you need less than 25 core provinces, but in order to see the decision to form hansa you need less than 20 provinces. Like wtf. Why do you need to be under 20 provinces to see the decision. Its so arbitrary and stupid.
Yeah, its a bit of weird one, I think the idea is forming Hansa you should be a small trade league, and not a Major empire kind of deal.
I like the video, would be better if your script was a little less repetitive and used more active language.
I like to think I am still learning, so hopefully we will get there eventually, but in many cases I do agree that you end up saying very similar things. I do my best to break it up with bad jokes, but it can certainly be better!

well, its more of defeating the modifier in theory. I do have to just kind of 'hope' the enemy shows up in the first place, yes.

I have no knowledge of how the fanatic zeal of the weird English government works, but can it coexist with the last government mechanic thingy mentioned? As far as I'm aware both of them use the government tab.
From my testing many a moon ago yes, because it is different section of the government tab.
I have discovered, that if you declare a war with deus vult casus belli, then the wars have different names depending on your religion. For example: "Ottoman Jihad against Poland" or "French Crusade against Tunis". I wonder, what are other unique names for different holy wars for different religions?
That's stored in the localization under 'unique name of holy war' and pretty much any religion that allows holy wars has unique names (when clarified in the localization)

1 the mercenary company is an extra one, known for his dubious record.
2 If the enemy tries to hire them, an event happens, where the Company ask for a bunch of money or they change team.
3 Can't happen if you have mercenary ideas.
Maybe It could work better with the condottieri (malus to diplo reputation for the turncoat)
@@MrSpatafrano probably a better interpretation, but given the state of Viccy 3 on release, if Eu5 does come out tomorrow (which it won't) it would probably need at least 2 years to hit the same features as Eu4 atm, so I won't be too optimistic...

But this isn't some claim of I did this run legit myself, this is a demo of the run, and for the demo, the console was used very heavily.
So it may be theoretically possible, but good luck doing it in a real game.
