    Do you think non-woven material is deemed as food grade? e.g. to use as tea or coffee bags or as filter?

    Could we make nonwoven fabrics made by algae?

    • @textilewithalberto998
      @textilewithalberto998  Рік тому

      You can make nonwovens starting from human hair, so I guess algae shouldn't be a problem! If they have the right mechanical features to pass through a calender.

    Thank you for the video. Can you describe the adhesion method known as electrospinning?
    Thank you!

    • @textilewithalberto998
      @textilewithalberto998  2 роки тому +1

      Ehi Nathanael, I thank you for your inquiry. Electrospinning is performed to obtain mainly nanofibers, very interesting, I will surely talk about it in a video in the future.

    Could we make non-wovens from brewer's spent grains (a by-product of making beer, essentially just grains)?

    • @textilewithalberto998
      @textilewithalberto998  Рік тому +1

      Thanks for the inquiry. Surely this is a great question and I would have a go. You have to consider that with the felting technology (since it's a mechanical bonding) you can felt also hair and agricolture waste

    Hi, Alberto, do you know what is the composition of SMS nonwoven fabric. I did the TGA experiment and found there are two decomposition process, one is because of PP, do you know the other decompostion process start from 650 degree and end at 800 degree? Many thanks!

      Good evening sir, I am sorry but this is actually too specific, I cannot help you out. You should contact someone in the Nonwovens field (especially SMS technology).

    You were saying a word like "veil" around 2:48, I'm not sure if "fibre" or "layer" or what would be a better word here but that didn't seem quite right.
    Nonwoven clothing: You forgot about felt! felt is a nonwoven that is widely used for hats and is not at all a low quality material in that context.
