i ve been trying to understand the difference between knit and woven for a long time and this video has finally made it very clear for me, thank you !! 🌺
Dude thank you I was tryna find a specific pair of pants. Found a pair that looked very similar from design and brand but realized the fabric wasn’t the same ! Now I know what fabric I Need
I've this same explanation many times, but not until this very video had I understood. Thanks and congratulations! Excellent content, by the way, I've binge watching your channel for some time now.
Thank you so much for the kind words Thiago! Glad you enjoyed the episode and you’ve been binging the videos on our channel. If there’s anything you’d like to see in particular please let me know
wickability does not mean liquid "wicks away from fabric" it means it absorbs into the fabric. When we test wickability and the water beads up on top and does not absorb we say that has no wickability. (Textile lab tech)
From Google, Wickability: The ability of a fiber or a fabric to disperse moisture and allow it to pass through to the surface of the fabric, so that evaporation can take place. High wickability = less absorbtion
I have a question. I was looking to buy a pair of shorts to lounge in around the house and I bought one that was woven and one that was knit online. The woven one was so stiff, almost no movement, kept pulling down from my waist but then the knit one kept bunching up and gathering around the top of my thigh if I lifted my knee up, would you recommend that for loungewear to size down for a knit shorts and size up for a woven shorts?
The difference between kinitten and woven fabric. Knitted fabric. > Yarn loop together > lot more stretchy, porosity and permeability. > less stability then woven(lose 5-1% of their size). > Have less durability. > Absorp lot more moisture > slacking over time, they lose shape. > not good at blocking air > Creates a lass. > low production cost. > more yarn usage. woven fabric. > Yarn that laced together at 90 degrees - Right to left is weft, up & down is warp. > Little bit of stretch in weft direction & no stretch in warp direction. > Retain their dimensional structure. > Have more Durability. > less moisture absorption. > Retain their integrity over time > air blocker > creates a lot more > high production cost. > less yarn usage.
Are Woven T Shirts a thing for mens? No right? Im looking for fabric that feels like a Heron Preston T, any ideas on what type of cotton i need? Its a rough and rather non strecthy cotton knit
Hey bro, lovely video but the machine you've showed at 5:38 (while talking about Woven fabric) actually looks like a knitting machine. I might be wrong but just wanted to highlight this.
