- Kyrie from Mass in C sung in 2010 by the Maine All-states Choir. This was such a moving performance. The song is about crying to Christ, and begging for help in time of need. Our conductor, Dr. Jonathan Talberg, tried everyday to convey to us that we needed to truly feel as if we were calling out to Christ while singing. And we truly did. :)
MMEA all-state 2010 was one of the best experiences of my musical career
We are too. ;-)
@singplaylaughlove9 Lol, Im pretty sure I'll meet people who are in my grade. BUT! It is always good to meet people no matter what age! :D and Woot! Yay for college xD~ :D
@singplaylaughlove9 Maybe that's how my choir teacher was brought up, and I didn't kno - well I guess I did know students who are home schooled got into states, Idk, Im just gonna say my director is crazy :P I was in all-state of 2011 as well and had a blast! Though Im gonna miss my section though :( First and second graduated this year, :((
btw, congrats on graduating!! :D hope everything goes smoothly!! :D
@singplaylaughlove9 I was told by my choir teacher that any student auditioning for the choir had to be at least in the concert choir O.o. Oh well, still went to go see the concert! :D and I heard he was extremely funny xD then again, almost all choir directors are rather goofy and hysterical xD then again, This year's all-state band director was rather funny to watch as well xD Where you in all-state this year too? or did you graduate? O:!
I can say this is so amazing I almost cried .. We sang this in my middle school, choir this year and I wish we sounded this amazing but we did a different rendition but I admire this one so much
@singplaylaughlove9 I wished!! I wasn't in my schools choir at the time, so I settled down with the Symphonic band on euphonium :D :) Im guessing you were in the choir, seeing that you have this from last year :D
@JJBRMusic Glad you enjoyed it! I think that was the musical opportunity of a lifetime for some people. Were you in the choir?
@singplaylaughlove9 Like always, Music is my freaking life xD and plus i'm gonna be a dork and double major in English, :P
@JJBRMusic Nah, I don't think so... >_> I mean, there are kids who are home-schooled that still get to audition. But a lot of times, the directors have fantastic personalities. They have to! I mean, this guy normally lived in the suburbs, with 100 degree weather, and beautiful scenery. Then he came to Maine, and it was -10 degrees, storming outside, and everything was white and frozen. I'm surprised he didn't go insane! And I wasn't in All-state this past year. You? (And I graduate this year)
@JJBRMusic You're kidding! I'm an English dork too! Haha I took three English's last year. XD And I'm gonna take a second APE this year. I LOVE English. :P But music is big too. What're you gonna do with music though? Like, do you wanna be a teacher, or director or something? Or a performer?
@JJBRMusic Hmm, well still, next time he tells you that, go audition for it anyways. :-) But hey, even if the other sections graduated, it'll give you a chance to meet new people! (Though they be younger than you) And thanks! Last year of high school- woot! :D
@JJBRMusic Cool! You guys sounded great. But wait. You don't have to be in your schools' choir to audition for this choir. O.o But yeah, thankfully I got to be in this choir. :D Our conductor was so awesome. He's probably THE funniest guy I've ever met. And he was from Longbeach! :O
@JJBRMusic Definitely! Meeting new people is always fun. But yeah, I'm psyched for college. What're you gonna do after high school? Are you gonna pursue something in music, or are you gonna take a different route in life?
@MichellexHeroux Haha I know! Especially the soloists. I don't remember any of their names, but they all did amazing. You doing it this year? :D
Im In Love with this choir!!!!!! O.O!!
No problem! I'm glad you found it.
@singplaylaughlove9 Music education/Performance :P
