Araucaria araucana (commonly called the monkey puzzle tree, monkey tail tree, piñonero, pewen or Chilean pine) is an evergreen tree growing to 1-1.5 m (3-5 ft) in diameter and 30-40 m (100-130 ft) in height. It is native to central and southern Chile and western Argentina.

Sorry you couldn't get into the Castle. I have stayed in the University College there, and it's very impressive, not least when your en-suite bathroom is accessed through a Norman arch. The Prince Bishops of Durham were immensely rich and powerful; in its day the city was the de facto capital of the North.

Oh I can only imagine how lovely the castle is! I’ll have to come back at some point.

There are a lot of nice places from that area and going North for 50 miles and more. Will you reach the other Harry Potter castle (Alnwick) at 50 miles North? It was just the outside scenes though. Scenes were shot all over England and Scotland for the movies.
Anyway, it's been a pleasure to see one of your movies again, as always! Enjoy the rest of your 'vacation' or holiday time! Take care! ❤️

No I never went to that castle unfortunately! It sounds lovely, though. That area is so beautiful with so much to see! Thank you!! I’m glad you enjoyed it :)

Very interesting as I knew little about the City. Shame about the Cathedral but the Botanic Gardens look fun. I have no idea why Durham is one of the few places I have never visited.

Places in England, however big or small they are, with cathedrals are automatically cities (not towns). That's the rule. I can honestly say I've never been to Durham, but it looks really nice. Thanks for showing us around!!! A future trip will have to be up to Northumberland just a bit further north, as some other people have suggested in the comments. There are some amazing castles, scenery, and Hadrian's Wall, but I understand you can only do so much in one trip. Looking forward to seeing where you go in the Dales and York.

oh that's interesting to note! Thanks! You're welcome! I'm glad you enjoyed it. :) Yes, theres' so much to see with so little time! I'll put Northumberland on my list, though!

@@MeganRuth yeah I think I'd be knackered after that as well haha
It's weird that seeing the cathedral and comparing it to the local one in Lincoln and its differences, both being equally impressive. Being so local I don't always appreciate how blessed you can be having such buildings close to home, Lincoln can be seen for miles and it's a familiarity and homlieness you can't explain. Plus being overly biased in thinking ours is the best looking too haha

You missed show a clip of Thor and Frigga in endgame shot in the cathedral. Bell's does the best fish and chips.

ahh I forgot about Endgame! I've only seen it once so it's not stuck in my brain like Harry Potter is.
