What would be a good way to record a Live Jam on the Launchpad (controlling external Gear) directly into Ableton? The problem is, I have certain Midi tracks that control certain gear with External Instrument Racks. But when I hit Ableton's record button, it's of course only going to record the Midi tracks and everything that's armed for record. For that, I'd normally set up audiotracks that listen into the External instrument Midi tracks. But for these to record an entire set (so that I can jam out and everything that I hear in the moment will be heard in the recording), I'd need to have them constantly armed. This makes the launchpad functionality much worse, though, bc if I have the recording tracks continually armed, I always need to unarm every individual track after recording so I don't accidently record anything into the wrong track. Is there a fix for this? I thought of assigning different MIDI channels on the Launchpad to each track so I can just leave all tracks in Ableton armed without anything bleeding into other tracks. But it seems like the Launchpad only allows for assinging Midi channels to different tracks in Sequencer mode, not Clip View.
It all looks very easy when this guy works it but I just downloaded the Addictive keys piano and I have no idea how to get this to even sound a note, it's nowhere to be found in Abletons libraries/plugins folders. Not straight forward at all and the manuals are all but useless when trying to link between the launchpad and Ableton.
When you say you record-arm the keys channel, how do you know it's the keys channel? Is it from looking at the screen, or is there something special about the pads being red? (Apologies - total noob with LPP - trying to work out whether I want an LPP or a Push 2)
@@LyroLife I got the Push 2. I have a LaunchPad 1 already but it was a decision between upgrading to the Pro, or spending a little extra to get the Push 2.
Roger Starchild We’re still in lockdown here so haven’t got a unit to hand, but would think it might be the settings in Ableton aren’t configured correctly, here’s a vid for the earlier version, but the setup should be the same. ua-cam.com/video/RIHv9-MSaus/v-deo.html

My units session and Print to Clip button aren’t lit up and they are not responding to touch, what’s going on. I just got my device today.
