You should use Tonatiuh as your starting point, it's WAY higher than anything else. Still not as high as Celestia but I think it's not far. When I went from there towards the volcano with just Chasca and Ororon, I even found that the phlogiston mechanic only works up to certain height over Natlan if you get far enough from Toniatuh. But at worst you can fly around the phlogiston height limit, it's still higher than highest points in Ochkanatlan. Also, Amber in the party reduces your gliding stamina consumption and that effect stacks with the food effect as far as I know. Edit: okay, you used Kazuha and Anemo resonance later on, that counts. And finally there's a Wind Generator gadget, it's a Fontaine reputation reward and if you use it while gliding it does hold you up in the air for a few seconds and you even restore some stamina during that.
Sameeeee! Now it makes sense why the description specifies areas with phlogiston within natlan OwO I thought all areas had phlogiston but if you get too high above ground (and far enough from the tonatiuh) there’s a gap without :3 but as you said it’s still no big deal ❤
Btw If you hold Citlali's charge attack in the air you can gain a lite bit more time but If you have Ororon and you run out of stamina and phlogiston you can just spam his charge attacks for basically now height loss edit: You actually gain height!!! and you can do it outside of natlan!
I think the ideal team for this would be Venti (anemo, gliding stamina recuction), Xianyun (anemo, gliding speed increase), Mavuika, Citlali. Unless we include Chasca as an option ofc, especially her C1. Getting that constellation is my second best choice in this game, after getting my beloved Kinich.
the fact that if u put xilonen in the team and use aim on citlali/ororon to wait for mavuikas transmission to off cooldown while in natlan allowes you to get infinite air time while also gaining elevation

I have tried playing around in the skies there, and if you glide far enough out from it the beautiful layer of clouds just vanish, then you can't see anything for a while, and then you're out VERY high above. But I noticed in some areas at that altitude it doesn't count as "natlan" anymore so you lose the movement abilities so I fell down. If you just jump off the edge you'll fall out of it too with no loading zones If you look towards the mountain the very wobbly oddly oval shaped cloud above is where they hide the area when you're not in it
Should’ve pick Amber in your party, with Amber your stamina lasts longer when flying. Also you could’ve climb on that wall in the floating island and use Chiori’s E, Geo MC E or Zhongli’s stick to climb even higher…

i decided to try this with a team that has kazuha, ororon, anemo character, dehya/chiori and fontaine gadget i started from the island really high up above ochkanatlan and made it all the way to the sumeru rainforest
Kinich, Ororon, and Chasca could have helped.. Kinich especially because he can recover stamina in air… It’s fine if you don’t have them, and rip… Also I believe some characters have a passive talent that help with gliding, though not sure if they will help.
use xianyun amber maybe or ororon for gliding 15% last longer also use those devices from inazuma or Fontaine that speed your gliding and for sure would have been easier to do it.
It looks very pathetic, considering that I am with a Chaska and an Ororon and a special fountain device for reputation, I was able to fly to the upper boundary of the phlogiston band of Natlan energy, I was able to fly to the border of Natlan from above and in front in the desert of Sumeru, literally almost the angular boundary.

Instead of just gliding with Citlali, you can hold aim to hover. You can then actually gain altitude, and not spend any stamina
that consumes stamina outside of natlan and within natlan it uses phlogiston which is limited and doesnt recharge

You forgot an item that increases gliding speed
Fun fact: even if you go below ground there's still phlogiston, all the way down to the teleport barrier.
So it's only missing high up above Natlan

Kinich plus mavuika is infinite. Kinich hold E and you can grab onto ajaw to restore stamina and also let nightsoul transmission recharge.
You can even go higher

that area arent connected to openworld map, its a dungeon on its own, falling down from that place will only teleport you back up
