- Chichester State Forest NSW - Free Camping.
Chichester State Forest is one of my all-time favourite local camp spots. With 4 main campgrounds. Telegherry Campground, Currawong Campground, Coachwood Camping Area and my favourite Frying Pan Campground.
Chichester is always flat, green and grassy. With the crystal clear Telegherry river running alongside all of the camping areas. It is an easy place to fall in love with.
Telegherry Campground - this area is the first you come to. Nice big flat grassy areas right on the river edge and drop toilets.
Currawong Campground - This is accessed at the back of Telegherry Campground by driving through the river. The river base is always solid and normally around 50cm deep. There are nice big flat grass areas 50/50 on the edge of the river. It does get swampy after rain.
Coachwood Campground - This is the dirtiest of the 4 with half the area grass and the rest dirt areas. Drop toilets a short walk up the hill. This area has the most open views of the river.
Frying Pan Campground - This is the largest of the areas with all grassy spots. Drop toilets in the area and relatively clean. Half of the spots are on the river edge. I think it is the nicest of the Chichester State Forest campgrounds.
Whatever camp spot you choose it will be a relaxing and tranquil stay. Best of all its absolutely free!
Awesome video thanks mate!!
Thanks Mr ! For the video very informative visuals are always good for helping to make choices much appreciated keep up the good work 😊
Thanks very much for the information and the web page. Has what I needed without the preamble. Appreciate the hard work!👍
Too easy mate, it’s an awesome spot enjoy ✌️
Thanks for the awesome tour! Very excited to be heading out there this Easter! Never been there so your vid has helped understand the layout of the campsites.
Thanks mate ✌️I hope you have a great time out there
nice .. thank you for sharing!
Good stuff, top to see the you all having a fine time. Best wishes.
Nice mate , we used to go there all the time, haven’t been for a while though. Thanks for the video 👍👍
We were just he same. It had been ages since we had been here. It’s still stunning
Seems like a great area to visit for a couple of days, I see more people using gazebo's for camping next thing I need to pick up, nice video, enjoyed watching, trusting the kids enjoyed the adventure as well.....
Thanks mate ✌️, the girls loved it. It’s an awesome easy to get to spot.
The gazebo is pretty good other than the space they take up. Im waiting for my 4wd awning to arrive.
I've only camped at Frying Pan once but I loved it. We did 3 days back in march 2021. We didn't find may 4wd trails though. Especially trails that weren't very over grown that scratch the crap out of your car. Love to go back with the idea of doing some wheeling.
I’ve poked around a few times out there but much the same I didn’t find anything exciting worth the scratches. Still an awesome place to kick back though
@@HappyGoTravel yes I definitely agree. We did find 1 cool track but we came across 1m deep ruts that went or a long time so we turned around
If ya wanna go wheeling take a beater. If ya dont wanna scratch ya nice 4wd that is.
Mate I have a hilarious story from currawong campground. A mate of mine brought his Mazda 3 camping with us. We decided to go to currawong. Sent the ,Aida through. 3 hours later it was through.
Beautiful place up there.
Hahahaah i could imagine that
Cheers for the tour mate, can’t wait to get out there and explore the grounds🔥🤟
Great spot!! Did you say Chee-Chester? 🤣🤣
Hahahha yeah pronouncing names isn’t my strong suit 🤣
Thanks for sharing this. Do you know if there’s mobile phone service at Frying Pan campground?
Hey mate there’s not. You lose signal pretty much as soon as you enter the forest
Pronounce Chichester like chai Chester. As in chai latte
This spot looks absolutely awesome 👍 is it expensive?
It’s state forest it’s absolutely free
@@HappyGoTravel thanks for the reply. Mate I didn't think you could have fires in a state Forrest?
Hey Caleb which way did you go to get up there?
I was told to go up skimmings gap road then jump onto wagnet and then vear right onto middle ridge rd to get up there coz the roads are blocked off the other ways?
It's on the list to go just gotta make sure i can get there as there isn't much room on those tracks to reverse a trailer if i go the wrong way haha.
I just go up past the dam on to wangat then on to middle ridge the other way is washed out
@@HappyGoTravel thanks mate
Where did you enter to get in there? Just curious as I only have a RAV4 and wanted to make sure I didn't go tackling anything beyond me.
Head out towards the dam, you’ll easily get a rav in there
Legend. Thanks mate
Seems like no one can get the pronunciation right.😅
Chai. Not CHI.
I do get this a lot🤣 I’m still trying to train myself on this one
@@HappyGoTravel
