Remember fans, it's a preseason "on paper" WAY to early top 25. As a Purdue fan I understand the question of "Who are they w/o Edey". I think we're a top 15 team and they're going to have to go out and prove it! Looking forward to the season!!!
Yep. Always thought a top 10 projection was a bit too high, even before all the transfers and de-commits from other programs (including Purdue). In the 15 - 20 range, with tons of unknowns and upside, seems about right.

We are entering the season with a lot of unknowns for uconn again. It’s all going to come down to how the sophomores step up. We didn’t get to see much from them, so it’s hard to judge the team

A bit early for Conference predictions, so how about coach rankings for various conferences.
IU in top 10. Mgbako, Reneau, Myles Rice, Ballo are all ready to kick butt. With the depth of Cannan, Galloway, Goode and Bryson Tucker that is a mighty good top 9, Then Newton and Hatton could have great moments on the floor. Cupps has a lot of potential, watch out Big 18. Go IU No way Arizona is ahead of IU, you have devalued the Big 18 a ton...even UCLA is mighty tough

Anyone digging you for way-way-way too early placement of teams can't be serious and for SURE can't name Baylor's projected roster off the top of their head. They wish they could do what you do. The Woodson hate is ridiculous! He is a hell of a coach who has players loving to play with him. He not the best at constructing rosters especially with guards last year but the problem was solved this coming year!
Indiana is loaded. Experience, Depth, Talent. Imo they will surprise. Woodson proves he is a good coach. Prediction: IU finishes a 2 seed in NCAA TOURNEY. Book it ppl

Baylor is too small. I think they will be a let down this year. More like 15ish then top 5.
baylor isnt small, they just dont have a notable center, they have Josh Ojianwuna who likely starts and just picked up a 6'10 center from Croatia 5 days ago.. but baylor's title teams didnt have a notable center either, they are not a team that relies on the center to score
Baylor relies heavily on offense. New players added will improve D. Look for them to be a title contender this year. Good mix of veteran play, transfers, and young talent.
I like Rutgers talent on the offensive side of the ball however it’s the defense that I’m downvoting on. If Cliff stays then I could see them as a top 25ish team. The leadership presence will be sorely missed amongst the freshman. Prediction: they make the tourney by the hair of their of their chinney chin chin.
Rutgers will always play great defense just because of Pike being the HC but I agree that it’s hard to lose Cliff’s presence in the paint and not feel it. But leadership wise this team is much better off this season. Pike has basically come out and said Cliff was not a very vocal leader and with all that went on with Mag he was just toxic to the locker room. Just from the early practices it’s pretty evident that Jeremiah Williams and Martini have stepped up in the leadership roles this team sorely missed last season.

2 could be lottery picks and Catchings is not one!! Igor might be better than everyone on Kentucky but Jaxson is clearly better than everyone else on BYU Amari and Garrison are both better than there Rutgers backup Kerr and Lamont are easily both better than Hall I like Saunders but I’m taking Koby Brea over him , Kentucky is a top 15 team they will be top 20 in defense and offense on Ken Pom. You guys going by players ceiling but you weren’t high on Kentucky last year until the Miami game. You guys act like a players rankings is who they are going to be in College it’s crazy how overrated Catchings is

Smith may end up the 5th or 6th best pg in his conference statistically this year. Big Ten is loaded with shot creating pg. Is Smith considered a Swiss Army creator? Edey is gone.

With that being said it is a lot easier to make reads and assists at the basket when Edey was there.
Still needs to get over the hurdle of being pressured against longer guards. Saw glimpses but being able to hit 3s off the dribble too because catch and shoot will probably go down next year
You guys are sleeping on Gonzaga they have a better roster than Baylor and UConn the only reason UConn is better than them is because they are coming a back to back chip Gonzaga deserves to be a top 5 team no doubt

I get that these early top 25 polls are silly and I know Greg and Cart know better than to only base it on roster but being the pedantic asshole I am I had to point it out anyway

Rosters matter. I know UConn enthusiasts think Hurley could lead a YMCA team over an NBA team. If Hurley could switch rosters with Scheyer, he’d do it in a heartbeat.
@@timothybullock5418 listen Duke has had at least top 3 recruiting class each year the last 10 yrs with what to show for it. Game are won on the court not on paper.
@@prettyridesmedia It’s not the typical top recruiting class that sets this Duke team apart. It’s the atypical proven, experienced players that are added to this roster. They are physical and they are two way players. James and Gillis are in their 5th season, Brown and Proctor 3rd, and Foster 2nd. The overall height is also impressive, no player under 6’5”. My point is this isn’t a normal Duke roster construction just because of a super frosh class.

Houston was top 2 the majority of the season last year (despite losing 3 players to injury) .. returns essentially EVERYONE but shead, but you guys every podcast slowly push them down your rankings, have them 6th, but greg wanted them 7th. i get shead was a great player but he did only do 13pts per. i understand they didnt look great vs duke but there's a difference between adjusting minutes after losing a player and 9 months. Houston on average losses 4 starters every season, Sampson has noted he has never had this many returning players before and thinks this will be his best ever team for that reason. the shead counter point is a yearly point people make "cant replace sasser", "cant replace grimes", "can't replace rob gray" (And those guys left with 3 other starters). 4th is the lowest you can justifiable rank Houston. and that is with giving uconn its roses (champs until they arent) because on paper they arent above Houston. Kansas and bama are the only 2 with justifiable debate points solely based on "on the court"
