- The 2017 Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS has been the talk of the town ever since it was first showcased at the Auto Expo 2016! It has been finally launched in India at a price tag of Rs. Rs 8.69 lakh (Ex-showroom, Delhi). It comes with a 998cc, 3-cylinder BoosterJet turbocharged petrol engine which makes 100bhp and 150 Nm of torque. Does it make for an engaging drive and will it stand a chance against the Polo GT TSI? Let's find out!

Its because of you guys that I bought my Elite I20 Asta opt in December 16 , though I would still recommend that you may include more detailed info on features and their functioning as 1st time buyers find it difficult to get the whole practicality as compared to other cars.Though your reviews are sufficient for regular viewers more details will cover more viewers base.

Proud owner. A Sub 10 second car. 205 tyres, a better exhaust system and an air filter are recommended upgrades for the car. The VGT Turbo is sweet. Great ride quality. Lovely brakes. An ECU remap ensures the car makes around 127HP/200NM. Cheers. For the extra money 4 airbags, better pedals, nicer seats and 17 inch alloys should've been there. Overall a really punchy and super smart car in darker colours. 🔥😎❤️

I seriously need a comparison video from you guys ASAP with respect to all specifications comparison, every day comparison, Off road comparison and lastly but not the least RACING enthusiast comparison.

P.S I enjoy Manual transmission but Dual clutch in POLO GT has changed the definition of driving and m getting inclined towards it. (buying within a month time, kindly help)
Thanks for the compliment Abhishek. If you want to buy an automatic car, the Polo GT TSI would be a good choice, but for the manual, the Baleno RS.
I have a budget of 9-10 n im confused between jazz baleno n baleno rs.. As its my first car n im much worried about service n maintenance.. Plz suggest me the best possible car in terms of overall.. Thank you..

I think RS comes only with manual transmission, no automatic.
We said that the GT comes only with DSG :)

PD how different is the RS in terms of drivability, power, peppiness of the engine when compared to the diesel baleno?. If there was a race between them which one would you think would reach the finish line first.
pramod prabhu We will have to drive them back to back for an accurate answer but the RS is a quick revving petrol engine that makes for the sporty experience. The diesel, though its is a 1.5 litre, its not a sporty one.

The NVH levels are pretty low in Baleno RS, as in the standard Baleno.
the guy should review more exquisite cars. I do know that the RS is a fine car, but the way Albal could finely tell what is right and what isn't is pretty nice

I driven baleno rs on indian roads.Its good a really good car《not as much as polo gt tsi》but manages to fair with it.I have driven all sorts of cars on many terrains.

Hi Team, Are Baleno and Baleno RS stable on the high speeds as they are lighter and are under 1 ton. Compared to polo, I20-elite and Punto which one would be great in terms of control and features.
We are waiting on for the review of Ciaz 2018 hope to see it sooner

If you are looking for a manual, Baleno would be good choice, but for automatic, you have the GT TSI.
Does it make sense to buy RS now with discounts, however, considering that it’s being discontinued? Should one buy a car that’s being discontinued, considering maintenance, service parts etc.?

Why Maruti opt for 3 cylinder instead of 4 cylinder engine, 4 cylinder engine will more refined and they could gave a option of Auto gear with paddle shifters which includes more joy...

nice review. how was the driving feel I.e. did it feel taught like a European car. Somehow my favorite is still the Fiat Abarth Punto. MS have also taken a wrong step by not offering an automatic option

An Idea for a Video for Baleno RS !
A guy comes at his friend's place in his normal 1.2 L Baleno.. Not knowing that his friend has bought a RS rather than a normal baleno.. He Dont even know the BoosterJet is out now
and they go out in a ride , and he rides the new Baleno of his friend and he is Amazed :D like whats wrong with his car :D why is the car running around so Swiftly and Peppy etc etc and so ON.. and than you show , because my friend its a BoosterJet underneath :D
