I always cry at this scene.. This song has a deep meaning.
For me.. It tells you that there is always a light in the darkness and that when you find it you must fight to keep it alive.
I hated Chancellor Roderick but he died helping the people escape so i shed tears for him too...
He wasn't a bad man after all.
I think this scene is epic as well as when you discover Skyhold and when you become Inquisitor.
These are the scenes that made me think i did a good thing buying the game.
I honestly can't blame the Counselor even before his death. I would probably act the same if I was him. If you think about it, his reaction and attitude towards the inquisition is reasonable. The conclave has just been destroyed along with everyone inside including the Most Holy herself, a portal is opened in the sky with demons pouring out that are killing everybody, and to add even more fuel to the already blazing inferno, the war between Magi and Templars has been intensified with innocence helpless in the middle. With everything going down, it's no wonder people were skeptical that not only did a person stepped out of the obviously planned explosion unscathed, but bares a mark that can close mystic portals and even claims to be a harold from the equivalent of Jesus in that world.
Kokoro Sora If this scene made you cry, Idk why but this made ma laugh as hell. I had a chuckle when Leliana started singing, her voice was not bad but it seemed out of place at the moment 'til it blended in, and then, Cullen's face when he joined singing made me laugh hard. I don't know why, I'm mean I think, but the facial expressions of the people there were hilarious.

As of Patch 7, they have corrected Cullen's 'funny face'. Now he just bows his head, closes his eyes and sings. Awesome, never before have I heard of the developers actually improving a cutscene.

They picked some very good singers for this song. The voice actors they picked. Cullen, Leliana, and the Mother. All perfect. And it honestly inspires the player. Even though they had just lost, Hope is still there.

The last thing I expected of this game was to be moved to tears. And boom.
This was the point in the game where I really felt a connection with the world within it. Plus, when I actually realize it's where everything really starts and how the last two game was build up to this very tale. I just love how Bioware handles the story within Dragon Age.

Kevin Darby I agree, as much as a judgmental pain in the ass he was, he truly believed he was doing what was right. He wasn't out to be a hero, he just wants to make sense of what was happening. He just didn't believe the inquisition was doing it as he thought they should, I definitely regretted everything mean thing I thought/said about him now.
Same here. I thought he was a dick at first, the obstructive bureaucrat. But when he was injured and essentially saved the entire inquisition thanks to remember the back path... hope the Maker smiled on him.
That regret we felt, one of many perfect things in the game.
Being critically wounded trying to save lives? At that moment, I forgave him every action he took against the Inquisition.

Personally I find W3 boring as hell. An RPG should allow u to create and play a character however u want. In the Witcher franchise you can only play as Geralt. Not much room for choice. Plus the fact he sounds bored 24/7 every time he opens his mouth doesn't help either.
Its why I will always consider Bioware and Bethesda RPG's superior, your background is mostly a blank slate and the devs go "here, play however you want to" and u cant do that with Geralt.
I really liked Geralt personally. I much prefer a defined main character than a bland "insert name and personality here" type of character. However, it's possible to make a good in-between, where I think Hawke from DAII is the best example. He has a clear personality, but YOU can decide what that personality is.
Here's hoping Bioware doesn't give us another Inquisitor/Ryder main character, as giving voice to a character who is incapable of having a personality is the worst thing you can do. At least the Warden was silent, so you could imagine a personality for them.

He's my favorite romance in Inquisition because he reminds me so much of the Alistair romance with his awkward sweetness. Truly a great character to see him go from Templar asshole to sensitive commander. :)

I love moments like this, it reminds me of the song in How to Train Your Dragon 2 just for the fact that they were able to present it like it was part of the world. For HTTYD it was a wedding song and for Dragon Age a hymn of hope. One everyone sang in their Chantry services I'm sure. When a story is able to present something like that and make it carry enough weight that you truly believe it's been around and meant something for ages well...that's when a world truly comes to life for me. At this moment Thedas became real to me, it felt like real people lived there and were fighting for what was right.

This scene was so powerful and well built, so emotional.
I had so many feels. That was so unexpected and yet so beautiful. No matter the universe, no matter the realm, Music & song always bring back people together.
I admit this whole sequence made me tear up. For some reason I think of the King in the North scene from GoT where everyone basically pledges their allegiance to Robb

Whilst this game does have it's problems, I think this is one of my favourite cutscenes (as well as the long walk to Skyhold directly after) in any game.
I know you like uploading funny and interesting things from in game. Have you ever listened to the two clerics outside the chantry in haven? Their conversations about iron bull get funnier each time you go by them.

The temple of sacred ashes exploded and killed everyone there except for your character, the war between mages and templars has been renewed and is even worse now than before, and to add piss on the shit pile there's a tear in the sky between the world and avoid with demons spilling out there like a prostitute making babies in Chicago. If all that happened in one day, I would be more than a little skeptical of someone not only surviving a mini-nuke in the face where everyone else died, but also claims to be the harold of the equivalent of Jesus in that world and also hold a mark that's connected to the hole in the sky.

I thought the exact same thing when I heard the menu screen music... my friends and I listening actually thought it was a bit of a ripoff. Both songs are very short, so it's noticeable when one has 50% of the exact same melody and pace as the other... I'm thinking either it was an attempt at a subtle homage or it was more of an accidental thing where the creator heard the tune and made the song, but they didn't remember it that it existed and they had heard it before.

This has to be the most powerful scene of DAI, for some reason it felt a little more real, as if my decisions had a little more weight.
just played this last night and...just thank you Bioware. I did not have forewarning this scene was coming and I was blown away by just how much I was invested in this. A detail I noticed that really got to me was Roderick's face as he died. He was crying when he died as they sang. There is something beautiful about that.

DEAR GOD EVEN WHEN I'M NOT ROMANCING SOLAS, I STILL GET GIGGLY WHEN HE LOOKS AT THE INQUISITOR LIKE THAT. Ugh. My head canon is when he sees the female elf inquisitor invoke such praise from a group of people who worship a god not of eleven culture...that's when he starts to really see her as different and fall in love a little bit. She's mortal, yes, but powerful in her own right and capable of bringing out the light in everyone around her.
When I played this the first time, this scene had me in tears... So moving

First I played DAO. Absolutely loved it. Then I moved to DA2. Loved it too, joker Hawke is one of my favourites main characters ever and the combat is super fast and fun.
Anyway, tried DAI later. Didn't liked it at first. Thought "meh, this game is not a Dragon Age, is something else". And then I got to this part, the actual moment when I started loving this game too.

It’s so beautiful, I started getting goosebumps
when I did my first play through of Inquisition I was ridiculously unsure of decisions I was making while at the same time excited at familiar faces and hello new game but during havens attack I was actually kinda just thinking 'well crap'. but this scene had me squealing in delight to the incredulous looks of my sis and I had goosebumps. and finishing this off with the discovery of skyhold just blended it together perfectly and it was an awe inspiring scene. bioware did GREAT!! and I just finished my first play through a couple days ago. my beautiful lavellan has finished her journey, time for asala(tribute to Sten) adaar to begin hers
I thought the mission is just gonna be sealing the breach!!! i was definitely no ready for those assault. i was literally in shock when i was trying to defend the catapult. gosh i forgot that bioware like to make that inspiring goosebump "chilled" (get it? status effect xD) session that gonna make me all teary and shit.
Have you ever feel moved by events that originally aren´t part of you? thats how this scene made me feel. I felt like i was there, living the changes in the world and praying from heart for a better future.
