I have always fertilized all year. I learned that even if your plants are not growing leaves, the roots are growing and getting stronger. So, fertilizing helps with this. It’s similar to what happens in the natural world. When trees lose leaves in the winter, the roots continue to grow. That’s how the trees are able to start growing leaves in the spring.
Yep, I fertilize weakly weekly all year long, although it's unlikely that I make it weekly, I actually water every 2-3 weeks heavier than it seems you do, bc I have so many. I do a few every day because I take mine to a work table to bottom water. Most of mine are still growing and some blooming, but I'm in a warmer climate.
So glad to hear many of you also fertilize year round! Right now I do it about twice a month and it seems to be keeping the plants happy and growing nicely during the colder seasons.
Thanks so much!! I try to find them from different places, both online and locally. I believe I have a couple of older videos where I highlight my terracotta pots. I can talk about my terracotta pots in a future video if that's something that interested in :)
Thank you so much! It's from Atrium Studio :) You can find them on etsy and on instagram. *EDIT i just realized the ruffled pot you were referring to was actually from Etsy! Its from the seller lilpotpot.
Hi friend! Thank you for another lovely and soothing video :) I have a new video request for you--could you show us your dischidia and cissus collection as well as tips and tricks on caring for them? You have the most interesting and curated plant collection. I hope you have a beautiful week!
Your Dischidia Million Hearts is GORGEOUS! I have a VERY small one and it has barely given me any new growth and I've had it a year. It's surviving not thriving. Any care tips?
Hi, not Stacey obviously, but mine wasn't doing well at all until I started growing it completely soil-less. I grow it in a mix of fine orchid bark, perlite, and charcoal and it's been thriving now for the last two years. I water it every 9 days or so with light fertilizer every watering (same for all my plants). Hope that helps :)
Hi! Thank you so much! okay so...the secret is...I actually have not repotted this plant and it's still in it's nursery pot that I got it in 😂😆 Because it's doing so well I have always been hesitant to repot it so I left it in there and just make sure to fertilize. The mix that it came in looks like a well draining succulent mix with perlite. I do give it plenty of afternoon west facing sun and water only when it's very dry. Hope that helps!
I actually water them the same as all my other plants. The containers I use for my plants in fluval do not have drainage so when I water it, it acts as a water reservoir in a sense. I also always use clear cups/containers so I can see the water level. Hope this helps! 😊
Do you have a specific fertilizer you like most for Hoyas? Mine have been dormant for months now bc I don’t fertilize at all bc I don’t know which one to get
Hi! I prefer to use terracotta pots because it's a breathable material so the water can wick out easily and gives me ease of mind when watering my plants. I also like them because I find them aesthetically pleasing. But to your point, terracotta pots are definitely great for succulents. 😊❤️
Do you have the hoya Burtoniae? Can you do a propagation vidio update? I have one and when i bought it the leaves are very dehydrated. Im trying to save it😢
I actually no longer have a Hoya Burtoniae but I have propogated it and I use the same method as with all my other hoyas. I have always propagated in water or if you have Fluval Stratum, I find that they do very well in that as well. Let me know if you have any other questions!

Gosh your son is such a carbon copy of dad! 😂😂
Haha right?!?!
Your son is growing so fast.
He is 😭Part of me is so happy to see him growing up and part of me is already preparing myself to when he doesn't think I'm cool anymore. 😆
Question...have you ever used the african violet soil in your potting mix? Im doing an experiment with it for my philodendron Brasil.

Do you water the fluval plants more often? I am trying it but it seems to dry out quickly. I’ve even kept some water at the bottom

I have always used the Schultz All Purpose Fertilizer and my plants love it. I have it linked in my amazon storefront as well :)
Hi, I notice you pot are mostly clay pots, it’s that bc they are succulents plants ?
