I think apple should remove the port, and replace it with something similar to the Macbook MagSafe charging, but not an actual port with spring connections, a micro wireless MagSafe at the edge of the phone
imagine having a phone that can be sent a code that slowly kills the phone😭changing the notch to make the older phones feel old. changing ports so you can buy new headphones and chargers and adapters. you guys got bamboozled
The port would be needed for the headphones and/or MIDI controllers, otherwise, they could only be used with Bluetooth speakers. So the idea of portless is an epic fail.
A portless phone is incredibly stupid. 💀 Removing the headphone jack wasn't revolutionary, what makes them think removing the single port left would be any different?
Getting rid of the port completely will be the most stupid thing Apple could do! In a world that is 100% Apple, it would be ok...however, if you are recording 4K, 6K or even 8K video on this portless phone, the exports speeds of wireless exporting in today's world will not match a thunderbolt 4 wired export at a fast speed. And how would you record to an external SSD like you now can with the iPhone 15 pro with USB C ports?

Thunderbolt 4 is outdated. USB4 Gen2 is 120 Gbps compared to 40 Gbps.

well i 100 percent agree unless they get wireless charging to be faster they would fk up real badly. altho they might create some overprices ssds with wireless exporting if they wanna make more money but that tech dont really exist just yet from what i see on the market

I don’t really like the idea of having a portless phone I want to be able to get a new phone like the ultra because I’m still on the se. and I like the idea of having no notch but I also want to use the dynamic island too. I love the idea of having a back screen that could be really cool. I’m BEGGING for it to have a quad camera set up cus we’ve had the triple camera set up for a while we need something different. I really like the idea of having a large screen and phone too so I’d love the 6.9 inch display. I’d be down to try a flipping iPhone but I don’t want a folding left to right phone. I’m excited to see how this like plays out
Wired headphones are needed for music recording. Bluetooth airpods have too much lag. We need a port

Software wise there are few important things that they still haven't covered. One thing which is really important and frankly I'm really supervised why they haven't done it yet is that to be able to make the screen on all apps larger or smaller by pinching as you do in Safari or mail. Unfortunately the only thing available is adjusting the Zoom in the Accessibility which is not really practical.
Another thing is when you do video calls you have to look at the front camera for the other person to think that you are looking at them which is really not practical because you want to see the person you videoed on the screen.
It would be revolutionary if they put special cameras behind the screen so by looking at any part of the screen make the other person feel you are looking straight at them.
The other thing is the different prices for different regions. An iPhone which costs $1000 in the US , will cost £1000 in the Uk which is a day light robbery. Prices should be the same and equivalent to US Dollars in any part of the world.
Back side display in eink. Lower power needs & quick access to time temp etc.
How about cameras set up symmetrically around the iPhone’s vertical axis so it doesn’t wobble as I tap the screen while it’s lying on its back.
What about slidloading out app store?
How about a phone that works as a phone. No dropped calls, no interference, no butt dials, no unintended calls.
I hear all the talk about pictures but 2k picture is great for me. My problem is any noise like in a store makes almost impossible for me to hear. Plus I always hitting the wrong button,icon, switch. I just want a really really good phone and Apple seems content to make a mediocre phone with fantastic everything else.
Totally agree, I got a 15 Pro Max and the phone quality sound is very tinny. My old Nokia back in the day was much better for calls. I like the camera upgrades etc but don't enjoy constantly forgetting which menu of a sub menu of another sub menu a feature is buried 😡. I long for the more simpler days, why does everything have to be getting more difficult in the name of 'progress'

Obviously, I don't know what Apple will do. But for me to even consider a new phone (coming from a 12 pro), it would need to be groundbreaking. But if its groundbreaking, a price tag follows. So probably not. Either way, interested to learn what they have to offer.
Yeah, i’m tired of trying to keep out coming out with new phones every single year. People are holding onto their phones, much longer.

Simple things I'd like to see e.g. an app similar to Androids Shush back in the day where you pressed the volume down button to the end. A pop up would come up that you could specify how long the phone would be muted anything from 1 minute to 12 hours or more if needed. I have many times muted the phone and the damn thing is still muted the following day and annoyed people asking me why I'm not answering my phone. Surely Apple could do that ???
If the camera is under the display, blocking the camera with a sticker means hiding a part of the display.
I've tried using sketching apps such as Autodesk Sketchbook on both my iPad and iPhone. It's simply easier to deal with using an Apple Pencil, hence why I save sketching for when I have my iPad with me. Adding Apple Pencil support to an iPhone might be convenient, but I doubt it would be as fluid as it is on an iPad.
My main issue with removing ports altogether is that I have a few smartphone-compatible controllers, such as a DJI Smart Controller, that require a wired connection. I'm not too enthusiastic about having to buy a different controller model, while leaving the other to collect dust.
Can you imagine how much a replacement screen with Touch ID and Face ID built in would cost???? 😱😱😱😱
My main two that I’d like to see is :
The first thing I would like to see if the fingerprint scanner on the iPhone as you said in the video would be nice to have different ways to unlock the phone and then pass it down to all new coming iPhone afterwards.
Second would be the new flip or fold I think that would also be a nice touch since it would just be something that new and exciting instead of the standard or how the iPhones are now if that makes sense.
Idk if they go port less or not. Ever since I changed up to the 14 pro. I’ve gone totally magsafe. The only thing now that I have to charge via a port Is the iPad 7th gen The only reason that has lightning. Is because I got that as a gift from a family member. The other reason I’ve gone total magsafe is because the last iPhone I had, the charge port on my iPhone 7 case broke off. So I had to buy a new case 2 months before I upgraded to the 14 pro

A magnetic charger would be the way to go for a lint magnet free experience and a better waterproof product. It will also possibly allow MacBook and iPhone to share the experience. But there is also the question of how to transfer data?(scratching my head) but yes there is a cloud above my head😉 touch ID has its short comings.
I would expect ThunderBolt/USB4 rather than being portless.
I do believe it is time to go completely Wireless. Now that MagSafe is here they could drop the port completely and make wireless transferring only. This is how I transfer photos is over Wi-Fi or cellular. Also, it is time for folding iPhones.

I’ve wanted pencil support on iPhone since I got my iPad Pro in 2020 …
I believe that buying an iPhone 15 pro max is wise choice right now. Next iPhone is gonna be extremely costly. You might get a non-pro version in current price of pro/pro max and with not so revolutionary features. USB-C, 5x, ergonomic design, best stabilization sensors were some of the major upgrades in 15 pro max over previous generations and it'll be more than enough for a lot of perople in the long run. My advice would be, buy now.
This year bought an 15 Pro Max, I upgraded from my 7 Plus which went to one of my Grandchildren. I looked after the battery which is at 95% battery health. Going on past experience I won't be upgrading until iPhone 21 or 22. The Pro Max cost me €1,500 so I'm not willing to shell out that every year for the 'best ever iPhone' no matter what the spec is.

@@nadergt1I charged my 15 Pro Max today and there were no any heat on the phone. So you can upgrade to 15 Pro Max with no worries. But I recommend you to go with iPhone 16 or even 17 Pro Max if your iPhone 7 Plus is still working fine actually. Or just go with iPhone SE 2022 that phone is amazing for old iPhone owners while waiting for new iPhones to come out, iPhone SE 2022 has A15 Bionic chip way better chip and battery than your iPhone 8 Plus
I wand to see one big camera
The smartphone industry hit a peak a few years ago in terms of innovation. The one area for significant improvement is the camera system. Otherwise, everything else has been irrelevant gimmicks. For example, techies got excited when the iPhone's dynamic island came out. But it's actually more intrusive than the notch was. And people think that Apple is somehow behind when many Android phones are foldable and have under-the-screen fingerprint sensors. But from various angles, you can easily see an opaque circle where the fingerprint sensor is on Androids. And the crease at the folding-point is hilariously visible from all angles and makes a phone look like crap. Apple will not implement this technology until it can be done right, and even when it is, these are not game-changers. With FaceID working so well, I think most people would rather have more space for a battery than for a fingerprint sensor. And foldability ruins the aesthetic and seamless experience you want with a smartphone.
They can literally make battery 50% better easily by fitting a 5,500mah battery AND massively improving the chipset
Camera can still go up to 200mp for 8x lossless zoom like A REAL CAMERA
Speakers should honestly go away for UDS (under display speakers) for unrivaled durability that won’t degrade over many years and stay brand new
And gaming (performance) can go up to match many PC’s
They’re just holding off for the next 5 years to get all of us to upgrade each year😂
I think the Touch ID power button on the iPad Air doesn’t cost many space and I think Dynamic Island pop up can be a neat feature if they put it in the notch than the hole punch

Foldable phone having a rear mini screen makes sense so you can see who is calling while folded.
Foldables are dumb. They should go all in on 3D lightfield displays. I’m perfectly happy with my 12 mini until they do something groundbreakingly innovative like that.
They need to stop being so secretive like hype up your stuff and quit letting people speculate and then get there hopes crushed . Also you can get feed back for your items and don’t have to come out with something that will not be be bought that much

M3 series Mac are already out, and none of them have millimeter wave module or other new wireless transmission technologies, so a port-less iPhone is just not gonna happen next year… The most expensive iPhone cannot even beat less expensive pro models because it cannot transfer or record massive log video, does that sound outrageous?
4:07 This is not going to be happening at all. The EU have required all devices to have a USB-C charging port. If Apple were to do this, well it doesn't have a charging port and thus does not comply with this rule.

Touch ID is tons more reliable than Face ID will ever be. Fingerprints are unique, faces are not.

Other than the possibility of a camera upgrade none of the other features will come to iPhone next year and as far as a portless phone never going to happen as long as magsafe is so slow.

Right! Apple needs to bring excitement back. I used to purchase a new phone every year, but now it’s gotten boring and I upgrade on even numbers now. There isn’t enough wow in the newer models.
For real though Apple, in their are prime about 2016 pulled everyone into the iPhone and now it’s hard to leave
8K doesn’t make sense because there are not widespread 8K consumption devices. Why film it if you can’t play it back in that resolution? You’ve got 5+ years before your see an iPhone that can film in 8K

Been with apple since the iphone 3g . Had them all . Swapped from the 14 to the 15 and instantly sold my 15 and went back the the 14 pro max. Played with Samsung and long story short im all with Samsung now. Got tired of apple bs . Coming from a apple fan boy i dont regret my swap at all

Adding another phone that really don’t change anything is just unnecessary, just update the pro model. If you want to brand a new phone under ultra, I think it should be folding, otherwise there is no difference between pro and ultra.

Apple have definitely been in design/concept development for a while for the folding/flip device. They’ve also alluded to the fact that they deliberately hold back on releasing too much new tech for their sustainability I.e. Dynamic Island, wireless, Touch ID could all well be with us already

They need to concentrate on improving it security and start educating users more about all its full purpose the is a massive knowledge gap nap between generations what needs to be improved
I think the touch ID will be fantastic with the already existing face ID, just make a wide enough senor to eliminate misplacement of the finger. A wider scanning area for touch ID is super useful. The notchless or micro cutout hole is beneficial for more screen real estate while retaining an optional software dynamic island. A rear display is not necessary but it can definitely add some fantastic optional features that can be useful while enhancing the phone aesthetics. Well it is all up to Apple to release a folding phone but I know it wouldn't be cheap especially if Apple totally eliminate the crease in the middle of the internal display. A portless iPhone do truly sound confusing but what is not confusing is a 6.9 inch display. A 6.9 inch display will put emphasis on the ultra name it will cause it to stand out among the iPhone series. 😎💯💯👏🏿👏🏿👍🏾

So lets look at the crap about folding phones-- that does NOT reduce the total volume of the phone. Rounded edges etc are ALL form - what we want is substance. All the noise in the public is about appearance and feel (funny how many people have cases for their phones...?) Time for some critical thinking
It’s a Phone, all I want to do is have a reliable device to make phone calls, and emergency calls.
For anything more serious my iPad, or my M2 Mac Mini can handle, why would I want to use a stupidly small screen for anything but phone calls? Like I said it’s a phone nothing more. A pretty expensive device for making phones calls and texting, and taking a few notes. It’s not a Swiss Army knife.
I sear Apple sheep would spend their last dollar on a new iPhone lol. This is why Tim Cook is so rich not because of great ideas and innovation . They can't even get their last two iOS versions where they should be and people are already excited for a higher priced version of the iPhone . Unbelievable

Exactly, First of all we need a phone that can work any where and not just whether you have signals or not , and also have a good battery life , quality camera & speakers and so on, but unfortunately instead of improving the basics they rather work on accessories which most of don't really need.
Apple is not going to be getting rid of the port any time soon if they wanted to do it already they would have I mean I remember it being rumoured a few years ago that the next iPhone is going to be portless and it wasn’t we r in a world where I don’t think that is quite possible to do just yet I am not saying that it can’t happen in the future but right now we r not there yet I mean apple just switch to usb c and there is too many things to factor in about going completely portless I think apple would lose too many people if they do that I think it would cause this entire uproar and it wouldn’t be good for them plus with the eu regulations all phones have to have a port and be type c I mean it was rumoured again that apple would be making usb c only phones for the eu but they didn’t I mean, if Apple really wanted to they could waited an extra year for usb c if they were going strictly by the eu standards but they didn’t so I guess my point is going completely portless it’s not going to be happening anytime soon with them just making the switch to USB-C and then with the EU having the regulations and laws about the type C port on all phones by the end of 2024 it would be a silly move for Apple to make specific phones for just the eu I have a feeling that it would cost them more money to ship and make certain phones for one continent I mean it doesn’t sound like Apple to have the USB-C port for one year then ditch it altogether so I don’t think anybody has to worry about going completely portless any time soon we r just not there yet

Apple is not innovating enough for the iPhones to justify upgrading in years. Doesn’t make sense to upgrade and spend $1000 + for newer cameras. Way too expensive when most families are deciding over food or electricity!!

If Apple did that , there would be no more iPhones in this little black ducks shopping lists , the whole point of having a port is to enhance versatility and allow options for charging , transferring data, and use various accessories that can only be used through a port.
