Wow..thanks for jumping on this tag..love your take on the different digipaks..a Hanson Christmas album..interesting..thanks so much for the great response👍❤glen
You’re welcome. I geek out too much on that packaging definition. Think I got bored at work one day and went down the rabbit hole of Wikipedia and CD packaging. And yes, not one but two Hanson Christmas albums and they’re both fantastic! This was a very fun tag. Thanks for including CD’s.
Hi Dustino, Great video. Got my first cd player in 1985. The first CD purchase was Wings Greatest and Pink Floyd Dark Side of the Moon. The latest CD purchase was exactly the same as yours. I own about 600 CDs, not close to as many as you have. We all started out with a boom box 😅 Happy New Year 🎉
First CD was The Hollies greatest hits $13.99 in 1986....same year I purchased a CD player for my rack of stereo stuff ...$150 thereabouts.....best live CD to me is Get Your Yayas Out by Rolling Stones in 1970. ...all the other stuff ..I dunno ..lol..a fun video my friend... keep them coming ...
I got my first CD player in 1987 once I knew the Beatles were coming out, it was a Yamaha brushed titanium ..not cheap those days. I too like the mini LP CD style CDs the best ...never much of a jewel case fan. good response video. glad you and your parents get along so well. take care
Very nice. I should try to find an actual CD player to connect to my dad’s old stereo. We had one for awhile actually that friend of the family that gave me the AR speakers gave us also. I don’t remember what happened to it. I think it was a Sony from the 80’s. He said it was a very early version.
My 1st cd player was a Yamaha" Natural Sound ".for £299🇬🇧 Saved up after Dire Straits Brothers in Arms was released on CD. Owned player for over 7 years but laser not cost effective to replace.
My first two cds were A Hard Day’s Night and Revolver. Bought them before the cd player. Wish I saved the long boxes for all those 1987/88 Beatles cds. Since I grew up in the 70s with vinyl and a cheap record player, listening to cds without the pops and scratches was a revelation. Especially during the quiet moments where I was so used to crackle like the beginning of Dear Prudence and Martha My Dear. A few years ago I upgraded to a good record player and bought some foreign Beatles albums (mostly recommended by Andrew from parlogram) and got back into vinyl. However I still love the cds and would never trade them in. And I’m happy my car has a cd player in it. Also, love Flight Of The Conchords. Got to see them a couple of times. Would love if they revived the show
Very nice. Thanks for sharing that. I didn’t have a lot of long boxes, but I wished I held onto all of them too. I do believe I have all my shorty-long boxes my Anthologies came in. Just have to find the box I packed them in.
Another great video, When I started collecting, I was buying vinyl, that is all there was except for cassettes, and I hated 8-track. My budget was very small, saving up change and whatever I got from doing chores, until I started working. I still have all my albums; I never had many 45s. I made the leap to CD in late 1985, early 1986. I bought my first player made by Sharp, kind of no frills but it worked great and was made like a tank. The store (no longer in business) that I got it from had to order it because they only stocked like one of two at a time. I still have it; it works like new but it's so old it won't read CDr, I keep it for personal nostalgia. I didn't make note of the whole list but it's funny the first CD I bought was Band on the Run and somehow the one I got had the UK track list, the store really wasn't stocking a big selection at that time, kind of like DVD in the beginning but I was lucky they had it, this was even before I had the player. What makes that funny is because the most recent CD purchase was ALSO Band on the Run, the 50th anniversary this time. I have lost track of all the different versions of Band on the Run that I have now, but I have always loved that album!
Thanks for sharing this. BOTR is fantastic. You really can’t have too many copies. I count at least eleven copies in my collection with CD and vinyl combined!

Very nice. Too bad the laser went out.
You can find out how many CD’s you have in Discogs by clicking on the Format tab and selecting CD
U.S. that on the app too? I couldn’t find it there. Thanks for letting me know though.
@ yeah. And USD amount of the overall collection is on there as well. Mine is currently at $10.8 Million.
I’ve seen that one. My high is only $37.5k.

Excellent answers, although I have no idea who Glen Kellaway is. 😃
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it. You have to hop on over to his channel, or basement.

Holy crap you babble a lot
I was interested in watching this but when he spent 10 minutes on his first CD player I had to give up.
@@williamcalvert4106seriously no wonder the video is 45 minutes long
It’s a curse.
That cheap little stereo from Walmart never guessed it would get talked about that much.
It happens. Glad you enjoyed it.
