Watching this several years down the line, I still can't understand how these guys did not end up there with the winning three. They were spot on both vocally and visually. I'd pay to go see them any time.
these guys are just so sharp. and they are all so cool. they deserv to win. i first heard them at out here in utah when i was 10. ever since iv'e been a fan
Gahhh, I love Vocal Point, ever since I discovered them last year. AND I WENT TO A VOCAL POINT CONCERT TODAY. FREE. SECOND ROW. (: My fifth VP concert.
They are all so freaking attractive, and honestly- all of their voices are stunning. I was so disappointed when they left- if I had to choose, they'd definitely be in the top 3.
Amazing performance they always do fantastic but this was by far their best one yet!! Courtney Kenton and Rachel! I just saw Courtney and Rachel on Friday!
I have never had much BYU pride as a student and now as an alumni, but wow I sure do now! This is what I call talent. I definitely think they will be in the top 3.
Another connection, though somewhat tangential (from wikipedia): Julianne Alexandra Hough is an American professional ballroom dancer, country music singer and actress. She is most widely known for being a two-time champion of ABC's Dancing with the Stars. She starred in the 2011 film remake of Footloose. Hough was born and raised in Sandy, Utah, a suburb of Salt Lake City, the last of five children in a Latter-day Saint (Mormon) family.[
Not my fav performance by them, but still extremely good. Vocal Point is my fav group for a few reasons: amazing, complicated arrangements, diversity with the lead singers, high-energy, and awesome choreography. I've seen a lot of college groups that sacrifice quality for the high energy. Vocal Point manages both! Of the lead singers, I've absolutely loved Jake, Keith, and McKay (in that order). Their beatboxer is great and I'm so happy that Ben's back - he really fills out their sound. VP FTW!!
My appreciation for this show went down a ton too. They definitely struggled with their second song last night, but the were by far not the worst group to be left performing in the competition. The funny thing is they will probably sell more CDs than half of the groups left. :)
i really really hope they win!!! (: they are SO good! and they are LDS (mormon) which just makes it better, gotta love a bunch of hot singing mormon guys(:
Just finished our musical, Back to the 80s, and we sang footloose, however, this song happening without either Kevin Bacon dancing in the backround, or the amazing cast we had, it just ain't right.
@hawaiianryan15 Two of their songs were in their repertoire before (Jump Jive and Footloose), but Never Say Never and Way You Look Tonight were both new for them. And as for the former two, they still made lots of arrangement changes for the show that were different from their original forms. The groups have just 7 days to get any song (old or new) ready for primetime, so each week is a challenge for every group.
@lyndes33 They are. Keith Evans, who sang the lead in Never Say Never and Every Little Step, would often check the comments on the Sing Off page on facebook. They really follow what their fans are saying and respond to them.
Payin homage to Lehi, Utah huh? (That's where Footloose was filmed for those of you who don't know. It's a town just a few miles north of Provo.) Get em Cougars!
Holy sh*t Ross' range is NUTS! I knew the note at 2:58 was high but I didn't realize it was the G# ABOVE HIGH C?! (checked on my piano lol). Most GIRLS can't even hit that note, yet alone belt it like Ross did. Simply amazing, I hope Ross get's more solos in the future!
Most Mormons are like this, love to sing (though may not be quite as good as these guys) good dancers, and just plain CRAAZZZZY! Q:(Did you guys dance like that at your stake dances when you were younger)
I found it funny that they would critized for the very thing they would praise Dartmouth Aires for, theatrics. It is so obvious that NBC's politics played into the decision of Vocal Point getting the boat. Keep your heads up boys and capitalize on you popularity, America loved ya!
@MisterClockTower The judges also said they loved Ruby's voice when the Collective did Rolling In The Deep when it was clearly horrifying. I'm not going to take everything they say as true when what I heard clearly doesn't match up to what they're saying
Watching this several years down the line, I still can't understand how these guys did not end up there with the winning three. They were spot on both vocally and visually. I'd pay to go see them any time.
Yeah, they got screwed, liked more Vocal Point than Darmouth Aires to be honest, but PTX was another league
They are so much fun to listen to, their energy and power are astounding. It's what makes them them!
these guys are just so sharp. and they are all so cool. they deserv to win. i first heard them at out here in utah when i was 10. ever since iv'e been a fan
Vocal Point deserved to at least have a spot in the finale :(
I've seen these guys live and you cannot capture in a recording how amazing they are.
While I think Pentatonix deserved to win, Vocal Point should have been a close second. They got kicked off too early.
TheAndrewj96 or at least 3rd for sure. What a shame
The fact that urban method beat them....
My home state performer's, Vocal Point big props to them and to the ones I saw the other day you got to love your performance.
Gahhh, I love Vocal Point, ever since I discovered them last year. AND I WENT TO A VOCAL POINT CONCERT TODAY. FREE. SECOND ROW. (: My fifth VP concert.
Awesome a capella group! ! We have their new cd. They are fantastic! !
WONDERFUL PERFORMANCE!! LOVE THESE GUYS!!
Great performance! They left way early, I was surprised other groups weren't kicked off before them.
im so proud of vocal point
Another stellar performance.
They are all so freaking attractive, and honestly- all of their voices are stunning. I was so disappointed when they left- if I had to choose, they'd definitely be in the top 3.
Amazing performance they always do fantastic but this was by far their best one yet!!
Courtney Kenton and Rachel! I just saw Courtney and Rachel on Friday!
this was definitely my favorite performance last night! vocal point is my favorite group, next to the yellowjackets and afro blue
I have never had much BYU pride as a student and now as an alumni, but wow I sure do now! This is what I call talent. I definitely think they will be in the top 3.
They're all such charming and cute lads. I'm such a huge fan of Keith but Ross always blows me out of the water with this performance. x
Met them today...they're AMAZING!!!!

If they win the recording contract it needs to be video, not audio, they are just so fun to watch!
they made me get off my couch and dance! no other group has come close to making me do this :D they are amazing!!!!!
Wow, this was a great performance!!
These guys are very good looking!!!!!
My appreciation for this show went down a ton too. They definitely struggled with their second song last night, but the were by far not the worst group to be left performing in the competition. The funny thing is they will probably sell more CDs than half of the groups left. :)
YES!!!!!! That was amazing!!!! I am a tough critic, but there was NOTHING at ALL wrong with them performance. I loved it.
i really really hope they win!!! (: they are SO good! and they are LDS (mormon) which just makes it better, gotta love a bunch of hot singing mormon guys(:
absolutely increible. these guys are really amazing
I met Tyler! He is SUCH a good guy :) came to my school to talk to us about choir. Was a really good experience
These guys are such fun to watch everytime... I hope they make it to the finals. =D
BTW, they sang this, The Way You Look Tonight (JAKE!
Just finished our musical, Back to the 80s, and we sang footloose, however, this song happening without either Kevin Bacon dancing in the backround, or the amazing cast we had, it just ain't right.
Is it just me, or do they all just seem like SUCH great guys? Especially McKay and Tanner...
@Platinum400 Footloose was filmed in Utah. Mormon Central.
the 3 guys jumping out in front at 3:02 captured the moment. Loved it.
So in love w/these boyssss😊🙌🏾❤️

Best performance ever!!!!!!
Vocal Point Rocks! See, mormons can have fun! :)
Them and Pentatonix are to me the two top groups right now and should both make the final.
i wish you people would stop bashing other groups. they are ALL good. id like to see the haters try what the groups do. just enjoy the music.
Oh my god. How on Earth did they get sent home after this? They're the reason I even went to go see footloose.
These guys always bring something fun to the table! Either them or Urban Method should win! :D
@lyndes33 They are. Keith Evans, who sang the lead in Never Say Never and Every Little Step, would often check the comments on the Sing Off page on facebook. They really follow what their fans are saying and respond to them.
love their voices, and those shoes :)
if anybody watches how i met your mother, you can defently say that jake looks like ted and ben looks like barney
Love you my cousin Ben you're awesome xxoo
hello guys...can anybody tell me which website i can go to to watch sing off aside from youtube. i love vocal point!.thank you so much :)
Payin homage to Lehi, Utah huh? (That's where Footloose was filmed for those of you who don't know. It's a town just a few miles north of Provo.)
Get em Cougars!
their communal nod at 4:22 gives me life
Definitely the best of the three male collegiate groups. And OMG COURTNEY JENSEN!!
*giggles* Aaahh! They rock so hard! Wow! They definitely succeeded in making me grin my face off! C=
KENNY LOGGINSSS!
O_O How did he know i'm wearing hello kitty pajamas?! **hats off to vocalpoint!**
they deserve to win!!! >
BYU BYU BYU!!!
Yes
This is AWESOME!!! Best group there by FAR!!! Next is Urban Method, then Pennatonix!
Loved VP and AB. I am a Pentaholic so I was glad that they won but do not understand why VP was not in finals except maybe the Ben thing.
Ben thing
I
AND the aires were nothing but hams; at least VP showed dimensions as performers. It should've been them and Afro-Blue in the finals with PTX.
The only correlation I see is over the fact that Footloose was filmed in Lehi, which was an early mormon settlement.
Im diggin the shoes
That was Courtney Jensen from the Backbeats...
DAAAAAMMMM!!! THAT WAS GREAT!!!!!
@GERE0027 hulu is not working here in england...what a shame,do u know any other website which would work here? thanks
so i always wonder this but where they get all there matching outfits.... do they buy them? or is it provided...?
This was AWESOME!!!
@kdkrandel Rofl, did you watch their rock song? THAT is edge!
These gays are good. They were certainly enthusiastic and well orchestrated.
do you mean guys cause their not gay
That was an extremely bad typo. My apologies.
I read they typo and just about died
I wish I could take it back, but it was an innocent mistake.
ApollonianKing Yeah, very innocent. It's highly unlikely that it was a typo. Pathetic.
Most Mormons are like this, love to sing (though may not be quite as good as these guys) good dancers, and just plain CRAAZZZZY! Q:(Did you guys dance like that at your stake dances when you were younger)
EPIC IS ALL I CAN SAY. EEEEEEPPPPPPPIIIIIIIICCCCC!
thanks for the upload!
@Gameorama91 Ha, I don't think I ever noticed that! Pretty sure you're right! (Makes sense since they gave her a special close-up)
Vocal Point was on Point!!!!!!
Hey, at 3:30, was that Courtney from the Backbeats from Season 2?
@AWorldWithoutTenors check the comment date. This was posted before then. They answered my prayers :)
I heard an echo in Ross's voice at 2:58. Insane.
It wasn't Hello Kitty pajamas, it was Tinkerbell, get it right Sean!
They should guest star in Glee.
Guilty pleasure? Psh, I will proudly proclaim any day of the week that this song is awesome.
Someone correct me -- was that a real brass section behind Vocal Point????
i wish they just did a lil more dance stuff. cus it IS FOOTLOOSE!! but otherwise i love it. thumbs up if you agrreeeeee!!!
From the remake..Kenny as Ren and Julianne as Ariel.
McKay's kick at 3:20 awesome.
@Gameorama91 Not only her, Kenton and the other ex-Socal lady that I just can't remember her name. :)
@BABYBOOYAH22 QUAATT??
I don't care what the judges chose, I AM BUYING VOCAL POINT'S AND PENTATONIX'S CD.... no one elses. hmph. :(
wow at first only 100 views all of a sudden views!!
yah it is I was raised baptist and and now am just me but yah they didnt just do it they crushed it :)
Wow, maybe I should marry a mormon. They can sing, they're good looking, they can dance, and you'll never have to worry about them coming home drunk.
I found it funny that they would critized for the very thing they would praise Dartmouth Aires for, theatrics. It is so obvious that NBC's politics played into the decision of Vocal Point getting the boat. Keep your heads up boys and capitalize on you popularity, America loved ya!
3:00 !!!!!!!!!!
FFFFFFFF. SO DAMN AMAZING.
I see nothing ironic with a bunch of Latter Day Saint boys singing footloose.
I thought they rocked it... they are so differnet from the average colege groups they are infectious
@westmambo yea i know, i was just pissed that time. i didn't mean it haha they did do great and well everyone loves them so yea your right aha
How did that judge know about my Hello Kitty pajamas?
ROSS + JAKE = 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
@MisterClockTower The judges also said they loved Ruby's voice when the Collective did Rolling In The Deep when it was clearly horrifying. I'm not going to take everything they say as true when what I heard clearly doesn't match up to what they're saying
