As a Sheffield Utd fan I just want to say you’ve got an absolutely amazing man in hecky he will do his absolute best not just to get you boys back on the right track winning games but potentially getting Preston further up the table, we had some great times under hecky and sheff Utd fans couldn’t imagine we would actually get back to the premier league but as an opposition fan I hope you get the good times back at Deepdale cause Preston deserve it good luck hecky and Preston 👏👏🤝

That doesn’t make sense. We had the 2nd highest budget in the league, the best player and all neutrals had us down as finished between 1st and 3rd. All Blades expected promotion but it doesn’t always work like that. We had financial issues so Hecky was under massive pressure to return to the PL but you never saw that pressure.

Supported PNE since 1963, this has to be an outstanding appointment. We are fortunate to have a quality manager in Paul Heckingbottom which we haven't had for a very long time. He'll be given a fantastic Deepdale welcome on Saturday against Luton Town, in front of the Deepdale faithful. His appointment could be the turning point the Club have been looking for, a change in the style of football from what the fans had to endure with the last manager. Preston has a decent squad of players he can work with, and hope the players respond accordingly. Welcome to Preston North End Paul, you've joined a Club with a great history.
@@michaelfeast9869 - 🤡🤡🤡 So winning 2 promotions, to the Premier League, and Championship, with 2 clubs, is to you an unproven manager for an unproven club? Next time you post a comment do some research, before making a 🤡 of yourself.
As a blade that lived in Preston for 4 years whilst studying there, I know how much football means to PNE and the wider community. It’s a one club city, and Hecky, Stuart etc will understand that and work their magic. Be patient, he was a brilliant servant and representative for our club and we had many a memorable night with them. Good luck for the remaining 44 games.
As a blade. I'm so happy hekky is back in football! I still wish he was our manager quite honestly. So all I can say is good luck and can't wait welcome him back to the lane !
Good luck Hecky really good manager who got us promoted and took us to fa Cup semi final. Wasn't backed when he won promotion as owner wanted to sell club wasn't his fault. Good luck from a grateful Blade.
Blade here, I always liked Hecky and he will get your team going and as you can see he speaks well with the press. I thought getting rid of him was a mistake, it wasn’t his fault that he was under a lot of constraints at the time, but I think he will do well with you. Get behind him, trust him and if the board backs him you will progress. Wishing PNE and Hecky all the best going forward.
Barnsley fan here… Hecky is a fantastic manager, he got us promoted via the playoffs to the championship, but was sold down the river regarding transfer funds and players sold from beneath him!! He is a fantastic man-manager and i’m sure he’ll get North end buzzing again if he is backed by the board.. Good luck for the season 👍 BFC1887
I'd echo the views of my fellow Blades. Hecky is a great fella & manager, making a talented coaching team with Stuart McCall. Only good wishes from here (except when you come to Bramall Lane!).
As a Sheffield United fan I can tell you he's a top guy with real attention to detail in his work. All the best Hecky (bar when you're the opponent on match day; but I know you'll understand).
Congratulations PNE on securing Paul Heckingbottom as your new manager!! 🌟 I can guarantee you will not be disappointed. Hecky and Macca (along with Jack Lester, who's still at the Lane) worked absolute wonders for the Blades, which was remarkable given the financial constraints, player injuries and other issues that they were up against. A lot of the Blades fans still have massive respect for Hecky and I'm sure he'll give you one hell of a season! He's a great manager and I was gutted when he left the Lane. All the best to you at PNE, and don't go beating us too many times!! 😲

Finally - no need for sub-titles to understand a word the manager is saying! 😄 And some nice comments from fans of other teams which are sincerely appreciated and reciprocated in the same spirit. Good luck to Paul and Stuart, and we can always hope and dream for that elusive promotion...🤞
Incredibly chuffed to have Paul and Stuart join us - just listening to him and his experience and enthusiasm it’s a total breath of fresh air - we are so excited to be back at Deepdale at the weekend
Hecky is a very clever analytical manager. If Preston has a chance to buy a few players he will get you pushing from promotion in a couple of seasons. Good luck.
Seen all Heckys games for Sheff Utd, the feedback from Blades is probably bias and emotional because everyone liked him. He did a good job getting us promoted but he did have one of the biggest budgets, best squads and probably best player in N’Diaye. A balanced assessment is he’s very similar to Gareth Southgate in so many ways. Tactically Hecky does strange things, subs are always late and seem to have been decided pre match. The style of play is mixed, like the England team bits of nice passing then long ball. When leading he tends to park the bus defending in numbers but that pragmatic approach was really effective. Overall I’d say Hecky is an average Championship standard, this is not meant as an insult because it means he’s better than half the managers in this league and he knows how to grind out results.Like Southgate I’d say Heckys strengths are probably handling the media, never any drama in any interview, always humble and good at creating an harmonious team spirit. He’s grounded, never excited after a win and never down after a defeat, he’d made a good poker player ha ha. Also he never criticises players and like Southgate always seems to be well liked by players. Hecky is a steady the ship appointment and think this guarantees you stay up. He’s a humble, slightly dour but likeable bloke. He’ll get a great reception when he returned to Bramall Lane, good luck.
Speaks really well, thoughtful, considered and articulate. Seems like this appointment has all the hallmarks of potential for success. Looking in from the outside, you'd imagine the foundations are in-place for someone with leadership skills to take the club forward. Also seems like a bit of a coup to get Stuart McCall as assistant manager too with his reputation and track record.
(Stuart McCall and) Hecky's been great with Sheffield United, youth teams and seniors. I wish him the best of luck with the new work, never any hard feelings.

As long that he doesn’t play the same as the last guy which was really bad. We need to get back to a more adventurous style rather that sitting back. You’ll need to get some pace in the team for sure.

Can't speak highly enough of hecky. Dealt the sh1tt3st hand at blades and took all the flack on the chin. Speaks, comes across well. Great manager to drag us back up to the PL when he did. Prematurely sacked, genuinely believe we would have done better if he stayed. Probably wouldn't have stayed up, but wouldn't have been as embarrassing
Ended up in an impossible situation, one might say a victim of his own success. FA cup semi final and automatic promotion, holding that 2nd spot for most of the season was the stuff of miracles. As the entire premier season proved, we were in a terminal state regardless of who came in. Pep couldn't have saved us from disaster.
