I like that. it is acknowledging the cyclical nature of pain. something I've noticed about the world is that people often only focus on the way they themselves have been transgressed and chose to keep that same cycle alive. all it takes is for one person to be the bigger human being and end the system of pain. like when a father/mother chooses not to do to their children what their fathers/mothers did to wrong them.
3:58 I have always thought the Happy Mask Salesman is some kind of supernatural entity. I mean, he's the ONLY character in the whole Zelda franchise who changes animations suddenly and basically teleports around instantly. He even gets a damn pipe organ out of nowhere to teach us the Song of Healing. Wtf is he?
@@Ghostcharm that... makes sense, tbf. Also, have you played "Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning"? I'd love it if you were to ever make a Villainpedia of its two main villains.

In all cases, he's causing strife between people who care about each other because he's so alone.
This skull kid may have a somewhat slight yet musical impact in the lore: in twilight princess there are skullkids playing saria's song this may be the same one or perhaps some other ones this one taught. Also appears in hyrule warriors cuz idk.

@@DaDunge you're drawing connections between unrelated objects. Majora never transforms anyone because the entity IS the mask there was no soul or previous thing "healed". If we go off the most agreed theory that the twilight made the mask then that argument would have to be applied to the fused shadow mask/helmet and that thing having its own soul just doesn't make any sense either.
I don’t know if it’s canon but in one of the comics it’s said thst the mask was carved from the scales/armour of a dragon named Magora by a warrior after he killed said dragon
Majora could have been a Character that long ago ruled the world and threw it into chaos which I feel a hero came and turned him into a mask and this is where I say the Fierce Deity is the one who did it cause I believe the cannon way to beat Majora is with that mask which could mean there is a connection between the two now after the Deity did so back than he wasn't a God he was just a chosen Warrior he was than turned into a mask aswell so that if Majora comes back another one Chosen to take him down may have a better chance in doing so but this is just a Theory/Head cannon this video has enlightened I now know more about this Kid and the Demon thing that has been a Mask for a very long time
The only thing anyone knows is...Majora DEFINTIELY has some sort of connection to the Interlopers of Twilight Princess. The Fused Shadow bears some striking simillarities to Majora's Mask, specifically one of the eyes.
Little known fact: if you visit skull kid in OoT as adult Link, he’ll attack you outright, apparently he has no love for adults. I like to think skull kid killed the happy mask salesman as he was traveling through the woods. It would at least explain why at the end of the game, the mask salesman deliberately fades into nothing while skull kid (without the mask) can’t even bring himself to look at the salesman. It’s a stretch but it would make sense
I saw this in a different video and this is accepted as cannon majora was once a dragon who was leader of a land that he was the only one in it, he was very powerful until an ancient hero game and as you would think majora wasnt thrilled to see him some stuff happens and it ends up with the hero playing his ocarina forcing the dragon to dance into exhaustion which led to his death out of respect the hero carved a mask out of one of his scales and that is how majoras mask was born what ties into this is that at the end of the game majora if you get the fierce deities mask hes challenges you to a game of good guy vs bad guy the deity mask is supposed to represent the hero that killed majora millennia ago the hero was really powerful as well which is why you can take out most bosses with a few hits but yeah all of this is cannon

A world where Demise was never a thing and thus the need of a hero and a princess who wielded the Triforce pieces weren't needed.
Even more so after the events of OoT no one even knew link was the hero of time since he went back in time after saving hyrule. So for everyone else the future of Ganon taking over never happens thus leaving most blissfully unaware of the future they could of faced.
Imagine if all the masks he owns were at some point people alive with misfortunes who met their ends tragically, so tragically and depressingly that it prevented them from moving on to the afterlife because of unresolved things tormenting their spirits. I think of him as the Oracle of Time, the one appointed by the goddesses in ancient times, with the duty to heal the misfortunes of poor souls, purifying them, leaving only a fragment of their goodwill in the form of a mask, to remind those in dark times that rope still exists, and to support the needy of a light at the end of the tunnel, so that those don't meet the same terrible fate. As Link is the hero of time, it is only fitting that the Oracle of Time guide him to fulfill his duty, the duty to heal, a task that only time can do perfectly, but requires indomitable courage to take on the pain of others and find a way for the winds of change to clear the path.
For a hero is also a Terrible Fate, to witness that he alone cannot save everyone and he is always needed in this dark times, cause evil is everywere and his neglicence or denial turns to be a spiral of suffering with no end.

I've been overcome with loneliness, rejection, and I never had any friends, like the Skull Kid. Over time, it took a toll on me. At times I feel like I will break down as I'm close to rock bottom. the two suspects for who made the mask is either the Interlopers who were the ancestors of the Twili I.E, Zant and Midna from Twilight Princess who made it along with the Fused Shadow or the Ikana Kingdom. we know it's the oldest settlement in Termina and there's evidence of Ikana conducting a bit of imperial expansion and the possibility that the mask was sealed in the Stone Tower Temple that was around before the kingdom so i'll say the ancestors of the Ikana people maybe?
In the Majora's Mask Manga (not canon) there is a sort of end credit scene where we see a traveler (who is reminiscent of the fierce diety) tricks majora into killing itself and skinning it into the Majora's mask. While it is not canon I believe it holds weight as a likely origin of the mask considering the mask itself has horns, beast like eyes, and strange mouth holes/pores. The reason for it's chaos is the unrest and wrath of Majora.
