Viewing your work makes me happy, in short, it puts a smile on my face. The image that touches my heart the most is "One Among Giants". Thank You for posting.
Great pictures, not easy to find a favorite one, Dream Sequence and Balance of Power are two that got my attention and the vertical are nice. The Golden Gate made me smile for some reason. Keep up, great works!
Some really great images there. I've not seen someone shoot 6x17 vertical before and it wasn't something I'd ever thought about but works very well in certain situations.
I like how you thought outside the box and went portrait with 6x17 I haven't seen anyone else do that ... could make for a fine print on a narrow wall. also "Spirit of Red Rock" was incredible and of course the Golden Gate .... what better format to capture that.
Tony, I'm with Raevenwood. Going portrait opens up exciting possibilities. I'm dreaming of a waterfall I've struggled to capture with my 4x5. I gotta get one of those backs. Thanks for sharing your images.
Excellent work Tony. Wow, thinking of cranking up my 4x5 with 150mm lens again and doing panos. I see you liked Red Rock area in NV; I do as well (born in Las Vegas).
Great sets of image Tony, may i ask what lens did you use for 6x17? and how about Dayi film back built quality? im looking for one but still considering Dayi or Shen Hao.Thank you
Guna, I have a separate video that will answer your questions: ua-cam.com/video/EScJzoWlMaQ/v-deo.html I appreciate you taking the time to watch and support me!
hi , Tony i'm a 6x17 photgrapher fuji film 6x17 camera , and i like your images , the fujifilm6x17 camera has only 3 lenses i only have 2 the 90 mm and the 180 mm i like to have the 300mm , but it is no t easy to find and it's expensive .i know of the Ebony which i have the ebony 4x5 i like to convert it to 6x17 , but it cost so much money . probably the reason i want to buy an Ebony 6x17 is the choice of lenses .
Spiritual Awakening is my favorite. Having said that there were so many others that I enjoyed that it is hard to make that call but I think it gave me the closest sense of the emotions you had looking at the scene. Using Velvia correctly is an art. I have almost always failed. Mine often come out so magenta. But, you obviously used the film to best advantage.
I'm getting the dayi roll film back and would like to use the nikkor 90mm f/5.6 to shoot velvia/provia. Do you think I'll have a problem with light falloff and have to use a center filter?
Ammar, How exciting! I think you will enjoy using the back. As for the Nikkor lens, I don't have any experience with that lens so I wouldn't be able to help you out. If I had to guess, I would assume that you might have some light fall-off issues. Thanks for watching! Tony
Love your videos Tony, what 4x5 camera do you use? I'm looking to get back into 4x5 and wish I'd never sold my Ebony some time ago. I'm really interested in shooting panoramic. I like the looks of the Dayi setup.
The film back extends beyond where the 4x5 holder would normally sit and provides ample coverage of the film. I've never had any issues with my 150mm or 90mm lenses. Thanks for watching! Tony
You vids r awesome, interesting and entertaining ! I love spirit of red rock and sacred scripture , simply colour, actually I love them all !!!! Inspiring work and suck wonderful use of colour and the films elements and range.... love it...... I would be happy to donate and do you have a fb page ??? Lastly any chance you could do a detail clip on scanning ??! Again I would and will happily pay you .... I’m shooting 6x7 on my mamiya RZ67 Pro and just cannot scan well, have the new epsom 850 and but blown if I can get a good scan :-( love tour vids keep them coming if you can 😊🙏
Phil, I humbled by your post! Thank you kindly! I would enjoy very much to produce a video on film scanning as I have tried many techniques. I am currently wrapping up a new video that should be up soon. I would be gracious for any donation you may consider; my PayPal account is: tony@tonysantophotography.com. Thank you so much! Tony
JT, thanks for watching! You can easily get into an entire 4x5/6x17 setup for under 2k. You just have to shop around a bit and look for the best deals. The large format photography forum group has a buy/sell forum with people looking to unload their setups for very reasonable prices. Tony
+J T I took a look at the availability of 4x5 setups with lenses, film holders, etc on Ebay and there seems to be a good number of deals available for around $1,000.

absolutely AMAZING 照片太棒了commenting all the way from mainland China useing vpn by the way this back you are using is a product of a Chinese company called 大艺 and it's made in the 80’s The company is long gone by now. I can still find these for 500USD in China.

Some really great images there. I've not seen someone shoot 6x17 vertical before and it wasn't something I'd ever thought about but works very well in certain situations.
I appreciate the kind words Greg! Vertical panos are fun to look at but challenging when a large format camera is involved. 🤣
Stunning panoramic images. Ive wanted to shoot 6 x 17 myself for a very long time.
Wonderful shots

i love these! what is the possibility of getting into 4x5 with a panoramic back for around $2k? I'm getting weary of the lack of control with my 35mm

Why not use circular vnd to compensate for the vignetting in corners?
That's a very good point. For me, they are cost-prohibitive. Donations gladly accepted! Thanks for watching! Tony

All chromes? Or do you mix it up with colour negatives?
+oceandrew Yes, these are all chromes (transparencies); shot on Fujifilm Velvia 50.
just got my speed graphics 4x5 camera with 127mm f4.7 lens do you think it will have enough coverage for this back?
That lens should be able to cover the 6x17 back if it was designed for a 4x5 camera. Thanks for watching!
