I was a little kid when I watched this. No older than 8. That song and this scene has been stuck in my head ever since. I'm 33 now and damn man I miss those days.
I love how this song plays in this movie its got good timing for the introduction, as soon as bill shakes his hands sarcasticly, it matches well with the beats at the intro also the intro beats suites the ball rolling down the alley really well with the pace, a wicked movie i think for me this movies compares to mystery men, dont know why i guess its because of the entertainment that's there, this is my personal option
Amazing Movie containing Truly Fantastic Performances, Start to Finish from an All Time Stellar Cast! Bill Murray as Big Ernie McCracken though completely steals the show here. Phenomenal, Hysterical . . . Brilliant. This was a Truly Amazing Performance from Murray, a Mesmerising Tour De Force combination of both Brilliant Character Acting and Pure Comedy Genius! 😂😂😂
An Absolute Classic! Possibly two of the best actors of my generation and im 40! They dont make them like bill murray and woody harrelson and dont forget about randy quaid
I always thought they said, ‘Looper’…..in reference to “Caddyshack”, when he says, ‘I was a looper, a pro-jock.’ ….when he was caddying for The Dalai Llama Himself. It would make more sense than a Don Knotts’ movie reference. But, I had a few cannonballs, before posting this.
You’ve got your Shakespeare’s. Your Ghandi’s, your Einstein’s, your JFK’s and your Martin Luther King’s Junior. The list goes on and on. But the list begins with Mr. Bill Murray... everyone else is fighting it out for second place 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🙏🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️❤️
You are not drinking enough. Golf is boring until 6-7 drinks in, when you all start quoting ‘Caddyshack’ and ‘Happy Gilmore’ every 2 strokes. MULLIGAN!!!!!
I always thought they said, ‘Looper’, in reference to him being a ‘looper’ for the Dalai Llama, in “Caddyshack”. He was a looper/caddy/pro-jock and the Dalai Llama drove the ball into the crevice of a 10,000-foot glacier. Don’t know. Mine makes more sense, for one syllable difference, in his roles.
Murray should have won a friggin oscar for this performance. Brilliant.
Fuck Ya! Big Ern!
Bill Murray played an asshole so well that I actually hated him in a movie. That’s how good of a job he did.
Thats wtf im sayin
you would be punctilious in assuming that
I still say it's his best performance he's ever done,And definitely the funniest 💯

Same here. I specifically searched for thus movie just to hear the song again.
The hand in the ball polisher stuck with me too dark but loved the movie as a whole
Big Ern's hair is a character all its own.
Bill was so in his element in this film
Bill Murray's best performance of all time on an all-time underrated movie.
The Farrelly brothers demonstrated impeccable punctiliousness in crafting this scene.
This movie made a 9 year old kid fall in love with ELO. This is one of the dopest songs ever.
I was 14yo but the same for me
Me too!
This is the best scene in the movie thanks to the 13th greatest band of all time; Awesome song! Jeff Lynne is a total genius!
One of the best comedies I've ever seen.

typical skeptic This wasn't Woody's best work.
After watching this movie and hearing this classic you have to hear it 20 times back to back. You might be like me

Woody and The Murricane both was awesome in this scene.
The combover coming apart and flopping everywhere is always funny

My favorite movie and band in one moment... perfection! ELO is ridiculously underrated. Jeff is the man!
"that a boy Luther!" is from the ghost and Mr Chicken starring Don Knotts - its so funny and random that they put it in the movie
Hotshot the Robot “and they used bon ami!”
I totally agree, so random. A vague reference I forgot was in there and I was hoping someone commented on it
Hello from 9 years in the future. I always wondered what that was about, Kingpin is top 3 Favorite movies of all time.

why is bowling not this exciting in real life? Big lebowski, this, the movies make bowling look like the coolest sport in the world.
You are not drinking enough. Golf is boring until 6-7 drinks in, when you all start quoting ‘Caddyshack’ and ‘Happy Gilmore’ every 2 strokes. MULLIGAN!!!!!

"That a-boy, Luther!" WTF does this reference!??!!? I'm dying to know.
Travis Greene
It's a reference to Don Knotts' 1966 film The Ghost and Mr. Chicken
NO WAY! Amazing. Thanks for that tidbit!
The Ghost and Mr.Chicken used it a lot.

+Greg Bill Murray came on to do Zombieland with Woody so they're definitely friends.
I worked on zombieland 2 and talked to woody about this. They dont see each other much but they get along. Had some cool story's to tell for sure.

All Bills lines where adlibed 😮
Anyone know what the lady says about woody as shes pulled away??
