Thank you for all of your great tutorial videos and the free downloads! I think the iron trade is probably the best, but I actually had a question: If you wanted to build your farm complex (or just the iron farm) and a villager hall, like in your video, how close could you place them in the world?
After starting minecraft in December, I built your elevated iron farm, villager trading hall (w/zombie), cactus and bamboo XP farm, small gold farm, and the villager breeder. Oh, and the kelp farm. My go-to for XP and more is iron into the Armorer, Weaponsmith and Toolsmith, then spending the emeralds on glowstone and lapis with the cleric. Oh, and on an unrelated note, I added a switch and reroute on the cactus farm so I could switch it from XP to bonemeal when I end up with an abundance of cacti in the hoppers. Love your stuff, and keep up the great tutorials!
You can buy enchanted book for one emerald and throw it into the grindstone for XP. Some enchantments give more XP than others.

Thanks as always for the great tutorials. I’ve learned a ton from your effort. One thing that is painful to watch though is the manual reload of the trades. Hit the space bar to refill the same trade with the villager.
Big tip for everyone! If you want to sell a lot of items to a trader and dont want to keep clicking the trade on the left menu you can leave your cursor at the output of the trade and shift + spacebar and click the trade output items into your inventory quickly. Hopefully that makes sense but it's very useful and easy to do.

@@samallen7689 you dont need to shift but if you do so then the items automatically go into ur inventory and u can just keep spamming it, do you just drag the stack of items down? quite inefficient imo
@@ibeprofinn8890 no, I just tap spacebar over and over. The items move themselves when hitting spacebar
To make trading with villagers faster you can press spacebar to automatically select the last trade you did. This means you can just spam clicking on the emeralds and then press spacebar instead of dragging stacks of items out of your inventory!
I plant two fields of potatoes and carrots (18x18 each). I make 6 farmer trading stations, at least 4 potatoes and 4 carrots, plus pumpkins and melons on every one. Fortune 3 the carrots and potatoes. Automatic farm the melons and pumpkins (9x18). Much stronger when you cure zombies 4x on each trader so every trade is for 1. You will NEVER, EVER run out of emeralds, nor will you ever fail to mend everything you’ve damaged, with plenty more XP to spare for loads of enchanting. An iron farm really helps with the melons/pumpkins….but you were building that anyway. After this build, you will want to finish the OP trading hall!
The key points are…. potatoes and carrots have 16 trades and are fortuned crops. Pumpkins and melons are automatically collected, but you still craft melons from slices. Once trades are all at 1, it’s very low effort with very high XP. Great until….yipes….those nether and end XP farms.

Also with Cartographer you can get really nice trade with paper and glass.. especially if you buy glass block from the librarian and then you sell glass slide also 1:1 😉
If you’re going for xp, may I recommend training villagers with enchanted book trades? You get xp from buying the bookshelves, bash them into books, get xp for having the villager enchant, then disenchant them book for more, and repeat.
That’s time consuming
@@GrimGothSinner true, but the XP you get from the process is unbeatable. The only thing I’ve found that comes close is a double blaze farm.
I made 16 blocks of emeralds just trading paper from my sugar cane farm
@@ChristopherTradeshow I’ve come to find, once you have your own village, emeralds are the most abundant non-dirt/stone block in the game.
@@landonmadison2205 me and my friends dont even have our own village yet but we're using a village to store all of the zombie villagers we cured and DAMN mending books for 4 emeralds look TASTY

one of my favourites is an auto raw chicken farm in spawn chunks… butcher buys raw chicken and fletcher buys feathers. A simple raid farm can get you Hero of the Village which gives even better deals.

A tip, I saw someone use a fox to automatically harvest sweetberries. The fox ran lose amongst the sweetberries and a hopper minecart was collecting it undernearth.

This was a great video. I am always a bit afraid of trying those hostile mob spawns for the Xp to level up and repair those heavily enchanted weapons and tools. This is a perfect way to get the same results with no big hassle. You could get a silk axe and make melon collection better even tho not automatic. Keep up these great videos love them all. Can not wait to see what’s next. 😁☕️
I've pretty much been doing this for the last couple weeks now. I've got about 40 villagers trapped underground with golem spawners on top feeding two chests. Get plenty of iron and tons of poppies to turn into bone meal. I farm carrots wheat and potatoes and sugar cane. I mainly trade iron with blacksmiths and toolsmiths and weaponsmiths for their respective goods. I have done very minimal mining in my world and have full diamond armor and weaponry as well as tools everything has protection IV and unbreaking III. My helm has respiration III In addition, and boots have the added bonus of feather falling III. And bamboo works well for feeding your Fletcher's sticks. Two pieces of bamboo makes a stick plant tons of bamboo around and it grows fast especially if you're close to water.
Easily overlooked "XP farming", and very useful in Peaceful mode. Good Work! I mostly do paper and/or sticks.
Villager trading is honestly one of my favourites. I typically start as early game I can with "chicken pits". Not only can you use the extra meat for food, it's super easy to collect eggs and make more chickens. You can sell chicken and feathers. Takes up very little room and super doable early game. Plus the xp from killing off the chickens and if you can get a sword with looting AND mending *chef kiss*

This is like an ad for the dying business of villager trading and also telling you to play the game right without cheating and looking online for an xp farm. Really makes me reflect on myself

Cartographer glass pane trade is also very op especially if you zombifiy them you can get 1 emerald for 1 glass pane
use silk touch to mine melons! you get the whole melon, so you don't have to worry about slices; it's manual but the yield is incredible
Avo, I'm with Granaidh below. I'd like to have a pumpkin and melon farm...big enough to actually do some good (I'd just add it to my list of tutorials from you that I use ALL the time - because I keep restarting my game - LOL). Seems like two plants might not be enough. Just my opinion though. Who knows, with it being automatic, it just might be enough. Thanks, Avo. As always, I believe in you and I can trust EVERY tutorial you make. They ALWAYS work.

You forgot the best part if you buy glass from the libraerian and turn it to glass pains u can sell them to cartographers
You do this with java or bedrock ?
It's even more efficient if you infect and then heal the villagers 7 times then the trades will be one for one,
I absolutely love villager trading. It's almost like a little sim-game inside of Minecraft. It is crucial to turn and cure your villagers through a few zombie cycles to get maximum efficiency. There are some really cool combo trades that work well together. A few examples are, buying compasses for 1 emerald, and selling them for 1 emerald to the cartographer. Buying book shelves and breaking them into books, and selling back the books. (or using the books to enchant, then disenchant with grind wheel for exp)
You could also use the humble fox to harvest the sweet berries as well
it's hard to beat slabs for simplicity though esp if you're really just getting started
Clay balls are great early game trade. Get tons of them from rivers.
Thanks for this video, well done and very informative. I've never gotten into messing with the villagers but i finally decided to and I finished bringing in some villagers last night. My underground base was nowhere near a village so I brought them through the nether lol
I feel vindicated. I’ve been doing this since I started playing Minecraft again (~bee update), and no one has been taking it seriously. Thanks for putting this out there. 🙂

The time it takes to get all this stuff in order to trade already makes this a slower xp grinder. The cool down only hurts it more.
The biggest reason why I'd do this xo grinder is to get the trades I want other than that I'm cool with just smacking a load one time connected to 3 other grinders in one room.

There's a thing called a Compact Farm. It helps out a lot plus you can put multiple layers. I built one in survival. Took me about 6 hours lol. So worth it tho.
Is there a way to tell if the weapon/tool/armour Smith will have iron as their second trade? I set up 5 villagers and only 2 of them traded iron
That's odd. Every one I've trained up has had Iron when they hit Journeyman. According to the fandom wiki, they always get iron.

best and easiest xp ive found is a gold farm with a nether portal. its better than anything else by far
I agree, especially if you grindstone the enchanted golden swords. Then smelt the swords into gold nuggets. You get exp from killing mobs, furnace smelting, and the grindstone removing enchantments from the swords. Super fast
@@kylehodson8542 yeah, I have one that's stacked 3 high ( I'm on PC) and it's so op that it lags my server when it's been going for a bit lol
I'm on PC as well but when I tried stacking it on a creative server I crashed it so I stuck to one portal on my survival

You maybe need an enderman exp farm 60lvls in no time at all
Have done a few of them... but you have to grind AT the farm and get nothing but XP (and enderpearls) from an enderman farm... with THIS method, you can get LOTS of other stuff too!
Bamboo will also give you insane levels of sticks. Just saying.
Yuuup. And you don’t have to chop wood. A bamboo farm Hooked up to an autosmelter, hooked up to a kelp farm = unlimited food, fuel, compost and sticks, and some nice xp every once in a while.
@@landonmadison2205 I have that in mind for a location where a desert, taiga and frozen ocean biomes come very close together. I have some bamboo going now -- enough to get pandas -- but I am going to add sugarcane for the paper. There will still be plenty of spruce biome left all around.

yes actually - it will. Some of the trades are slightly different but the villagers still work int he same way
