    At the start of the video when you showed the paddle moving circularly for the first time, I said "wow that is cursed" because there is a trend in minecraft where people make videos /mods and call them "cursed minecraft". In the video/mod the mechanics of the game are changed in unexpected/weird ways. (Look up cursed minecraft on UA-cam to see what I'm talking about). And then I find out that the theme is cursed! I guess that's another way your jam fits the theme.

  • @hawkinberry
    @hawkinberry 4 роки тому +1

    How funny. The experience you described about stumbling into a jam mirrors what I experienced Friday evening for Miz Jam 1. I'd never done a jam before, and neither did I think I would.. but as I was rating some of the entries, my brain picked up on an idea that it could not let go of. And, the rest is history.
    Also, I learned the lesson that you suggested: it's better to make a game too easy than too hard.
    By the way, the impact that you added to the collision (the sort of pulse on the ring) looks A+

    Tried to make a couple of devlogs myself, but really struggle with the huge amount of time it takes to find the right video. And seeing you uploaded a video after just a couple of hours, I was wondering if you could give a bit insight into how you make your devlogs. For instance, do you record all the time while working on your games and then later browse through it all looking for specifc parts to complement your voice-over / story? Or do you keep the devlog in the back of your head all the time and record small pieces while working on your games?
    Would appreciate it a lot if you could help me out a bit ^^

    I accidentally saw a game jam and then slipped over on the floor and wrote code by mistake and then my cat stepped on my keyboard and hit submit

    Hey guys, I was struggling to find a name for my game, and I was wondering if anyone would leave suggestions? The game is about a futuristic battleship with a malfunctioning time warp compressor (time machine)

    It could be really interesting to add space Invader style enemies into the centre of the ring and to get points by hitting them instead.
    That would definitely leave space for some weird and wacky power ups.

      @@Vimlark absolutely understandable, what you made given the time you had is insanely impressive as is! It has the same addictive quality of super hexagon.
      (Btw, I'm sure it goes without saying, but I love your channel and the content you produce is absolutely awesome!!!)
