I've loved the band since the Being So Normal days, but this album really is a cut above their work up to this point. So glad that someone had the forethought to gather this footage
My comfort band. Thank you for saving me thru ur music when I thought things wouldn’t get better. I started being a fan at 17 and now I’m 24 and life is still hard but it’s now bearable and I’m enjoying it with your songs. p.s i hope you play live here in the philippines or even anywhere in asia. love the documentary!!
Mate, Magpie was the first song from you guys that I heard. The song slapped and the music video was shot so perfectly. Between the single's release and the album release, I went through your discography and got SO HOOKED to your guys' music (Black Licorice, Psychics.., Give Up Baby Go are ritualistic bangers). And man, what an album! You guys smashed every song equally, and Neil's lyrics hit me in the feels, so perfectly. Truly felt a lot of personal bitter sweet emotions. Beautifully done! Every song has an occasion too, but if any one of them come on during my work shift, I turn the speaker up just to sing along. Everything Little Thing, Magpie, Little Dive, Yasmina, and St. Mark's.. are now ritualistic bangers that I play at almost every setting, and recommend to all my friends. But Am I your Girl, Outta Here, Wax & Wane, Long Black Hair, and Did You Love Somebody hit so comfortably, and are perfect for the quieter evenings. Nowhere Next To Me is EASILY on par with Black Licorice _(My beloved)_ All in all, my top album of the year, which couldn't be better for a band I hadn't heard a year ago, which is RARE for me. But absolutely DEMOLISHED my Spotify wrapped Magpie Album is bought! And tickets for Bristol, UK are bought! I and the family just love you guys now, and we can't wait to see you. Job well-fucking-done. The hard work paid off, to me, 100%!💙💜
I love how raw this is. so much of my own writing process feels like trial and error and frustrating at times and its so reassuring to see a band ive looked up to for so long go through some of the same motions i do and push through. u guys rule
Definitely heard Neil talking about how the get back doc inspired the recording process for this album and I think it produced some of the best songs in their catalogue
Your method of lyrics (at least in that part of the video) reminds me of Justin Vernon's of Bon Iver. Writing the melody first just to HAVE a melody, then doing the lyrics. What a sweet docu, it's CRAZY hearing how close you guys come to giving up on or reworking a song entirely, every song on Magpie is a banger just like the last album. EDIT: As an artist, there's so many things that could cause me to ditch a drawing entirely. I love seeing that it's much the same for musicians.
I’ve been making shitty guitar songs for a few years, and am always intrigued by other people’s “ process. “ really cool to see the PP boys work together to create some jelly styled jams. Love it boys!
seeing behind the scenes stuff like this is so kewl to me because it's so interesting to hear the process of a song and the changes made along the way, while knowing what the final product sounds like!! knowing they'll eventually find the exact thing that sticks and works so well in the end!!! amazing shit as always. thank you for this amazing album!!!!!!
I remember when I first heard you guys in 2017, you guys have come a long way!!! “Peach pit” was the first song I heard, sometimes it feels like your music narrates my life. In fact a girl I used to know is dating a member from the band arma-nodillo that opened for you guys… I hope I get to meet you all some day too❤❤❤
has am i your girl been finished before this doc? I would loveeee to have seen the making of it, loved it for years and I loooove how the final version came out. That flourishing little intro is perfect and the solo does everythinggg for me. Much luv PP
1. Go check out Magpie by Aoife O’Donovan. She’s beautiful 2. Did You Love Somebody is one of your best songs ever. ty for keeping it on the album. Even though it’s a soft song I feel like it’s the climactic point right in the middle there.
Yay! I love you guys and your music is dooooooooope. Hanks and more documentaries please 🙏 ❤. We don’t even ever have to stop getting sounds, there’s so many sounds 😂
What's up guys, Yukoner here. I know it's not where the best scene is, but you would definitely sell out the venue here and make a lot of people happy because we don't have any good artist coming over. I mean, come on, you are from Vancouver, it's only one 2hrs flight with Air North!
I really wish they'd tour here at home more, especially up there for you folks. They got global recognition so fast that they've only been to Calgary 3 times in 7 years. Like that's the next major city across the Rockies, it should be one of the places a Van band really cuts their teeth and proves their mettle outside of the local scene
@ i really don’t like the overall sounds. too soft, to me it’s really not what peach pit are. some songs like magpie are much stronger and i’m aware that bands change their sounds etc but it’s so disappointing to go from quintessential PP to many of the tracks on this album
this is so sick, love getting to see into the trials and tribulations that occur before you guys put out what seems like to us perfect records every single time. Love yall so much

Holy shit 30 mins of lore
I’m eating this shit up for breakfast lunch and dinner nom nom nom
This doc really shows you how important effective communication is between these artists. Complete professionals
mid-session packing a bowl had me dying
It’s really cool to see how they sort of “fight” about creative stuff and then they find some middle ground and at the end of the day it’s all love
major mark of true friendship, being able to tell your bros their ideas aren't quite good enough without seeming like a dick
Not "Little Dive" being my favorite song on the album and them absolutely hating it xD
i’m so damn glad they put did you love somebody on the album it is such a beautiful, perfect song
I've loved the band since the Being So Normal days, but this album really is a cut above their work up to this point. So glad that someone had the forethought to gather this footage
it’s poetic that the song with the most tumultuous journey ended up being the best single
It's so interesting to hear the slightly different iterations of the songs. I wonder how much of this stuff will show up next time 👀
the immediate reach for the stash had me weak

I love Little Dive so much.
Yay! I love you guys and your music is dooooooooope. Hanks and more documentaries please 🙏 ❤. We don’t even ever have to stop getting sounds, there’s so many sounds 😂
Idk if this has been said before, but Neil sounds just like Dax Flames, he could do a perfect impression
Yes, I can’t wait to see you guys perform in Bristol 👍
Crazy how against Little Dive Neil was. Was immediately a favourite off the album

you made a good album that doesnt have a whole lot to say societally or spiritually. i dont care that you recorded it in vancouver. waste of money
Ur mom doesn’t have a whole lot to say societally or spiritually when she’s jorkin my peanits
music doesn't have to be about conveying a deep message. I can be just about making enjoyable music.
Oh we early early
