🥚Jackie and Shadow have withdrawn from their unhatched eggs. On 4/11, one egg was broken and disappeared in the bowl. It is unclear if there was any development inside. On 4/13, Jackie consumed at least one remaining egg (no signs of development). The last (third) egg still remains in the nest (hidden in fluff).
We have no way of knowing why the egg did not hatch. It could be environmental, such as temperatures, humidity percentages, oxygen levels at high altitude, etc. It could be biological with something just being off at the time the eggs were created. It is very unlikely that either Jackie or Shadow are infertile since they have already had 2 sets of chicks together - in 2019 and 2022.

When I have troubling days, I think about what S&J would do. They have sustained me during some really trying days. I tell myself I need to be strong minded like Jackie, yet be a soft soul like Shadow. ❤

Not only are they nurturing to each other….they nurture WE who all watch them.
He is such a homebody, always decorating, and rearranging the furniture in the place. He really should consider constructing a roof on that log cabin for next winter, I bet Jackie would appreciate not being buried in snow so often. Love them. 🦅🩷🦅

I agree Susan! It’s amazing how God has used these two in “my own life”, to see that we can get through anything. They are like a married couple as my husband & I, We go through what comes our way, “ together”. The storms may come, the winds may blow, like J.& S. have & do face, but with an endurance, of the power of love, & dedication to each other. When looking at these two, it’s like really looking into the hearts of man. We humans take care of each other, as a couple united, & J.&S. have illustrated they do exactly the same thing , united together! They have showed us for months, what it’s like to “stand together “, in the best, & in the worst times. Human life, human marriages, relationships, can learn a lot from these spectacular bald eagles! If anything, a greater appreciation for life! To just “ roll with the punches” , keep “soaring on”, LIFE, is precious. Just like J.&S.! 😊🥰🙌.

Ah, yes! Makes my day to again see them being eager eagles. Not sure what Jackie was doing under the fluff. Going after the last egg…? Whatever it was, she sure dirtied her beak. They both seemed to be on a lookout for something.

Not until Nov-Mar, which is when Jackie is fertile. Enjoy the time we get to see them in the nest when it’s not mating season because it is rare. There will be no more eggs…
