    As a fellow trail rider I approve of this message 🫡 . Always be prepared in case you get stranded. I pretty much carry all those items and than some. I also carry a Gps/satellite communicator, some protein bars or snacks, I have the same 3L hydration bladder but I’ll pack a Gatorade too. A lighter/ fire starter, an emergency blanket, a rain poncho, zip ties, electrical tape. ( I once used electrical tape to wrap my arm to stop an injury from bleeding) I also keep a small usb battery to recharge my cell phone,

      Cheee! Wow that’s sick, I always wanted a sat phone but got discouraged by the monthly subscriptions 😂 super cool to have tho! I can definitely see the benefits of having any one of those items you mentioned. There legit. Thanks for sharing your essential list with us bro!🤘🏾it’s cool to see what you boys in Cali are packing 🤙🏾

      @@MicahManago yea they’re not cheap. The one I carry is the zoleo. It was 200$ for the device and than I think it’s like 20-30$ a month on the subscription fees. Kind of expensive for what it is but I’m often out in the woods riding by myself with no cell service. But I use it to keep in touch with my wife when I’m out in remote areas. It’s got a tracking feature called “follow me” that will update her and send messages with my gps coordinates and show her the trail I’m on every 30 minutes so she can see where I’m at, and then if I need to get a hold of someone I can text from my phone with no cell service.

      @@RidingWithDom Heck yeah, I'll have to check it out. For what you use it for its actually a justifiable cost. That "follow me" feature is awesome. Knowing you can communicate and be tracked no matter how deep in the woods you go must bring peace of mind. Here on the island we also do lots of fishing with boats, often times we find ourselves 40 miles offshore which is another reason this device would be worth it. I have a small handheld Garmin but its no communicator lol basically just an overpriced compass 😂but I really appreciate you taking the time to explain which gps/sat you use, it'll definitely help me make a decision!

      @@MicahManago I use Gaia maps app on my cell phone for gps, and the zoleo box pairs up with my cell phone if I need to get ahold of anyone. The zoleo isn’t a stand alone device, it requires a cell phone too. There are other options…(more expensive ones) that will do gps and satellite communications without the use of a cell phone.

      @@RidingWithDom Oh got it. I see now, should still be fine because usually my cell is on me. Now I get why you pack a mini battery pack! That being said, your wife will only get the coordinate pings through the Gaia maps app every 30 minutes so long as you have cell reception? Or the paired zoleo uses the sats to deliver these coordinates as well as be able to communicate? Actually, that's ok bro you did more than enough! I can do some research and digging around, not trynna bother you too much lol greatly appreciated ma man 🤙🏽

    I ride a bike (motorcycle) but when I tried a dirt bike it was difficult as hell.

    • @MicahManago
      @MicahManago  7 місяців тому

      Really? I would say the operation aspect is the same with the clutch being a little more forgiving on a dirt bike, no? Or was it more challenging because you were riding dirt and uneven terrain vs paved asphalt?

    • @LennyTim
      @LennyTim 7 місяців тому

      I don't know. I can ride my bike asleep pretty much. But the dirt bike was so draining and difficult. The big boot made it very uncomfortable to shift and I just couldn't handle it well. Prbably the rough terrain contributed too.@@MicahManago

      @@LennyTim Ahh I see what you mean, yeah man riding dirty is whole different animal. More seat time would definitely do it tho especially since you're already comfortable on bikes. For the boots, try to use a low cut boot in lieu of the full size. I only run low-cut boots for that purpose. You'll be able to switch gears way easier 👌🏽
