I'm late to the party as a new Glock owner, but found this very helpful as I have heard that dry firing your weapon without either snapcaps or a 'dry fire' magazine is bad for the gun. Also it seems you have everything duplicated here except for the 'kick'. But good job! I live in SD so I will see yall soon to pick up my new weapon light.
Lenny is right about the probability of accidents while dry firing. 26 year Army veteran, never any weapons safety issues. Retired now; dry fired in the basement garage. Put the loaded mag in before walking inside the house. Racked it then dropped the mag but did not clear, pointed the weapon down and pulled the trigger. It fired into the concrete floor. Felt shrapnel run up my hamstring. No injury, but felt the burn.
ELMS by G sight is a great dry fire instant response laser system for only $85 and it will time your draw and shot! It’s a laser cartridge that is inserted into the barrel of your own gun that is activated by the striker. It’s accurate and great for dry firing and draw and shoot dry fire practice.
Overall, I found this video to be very helpful. I am not an expert with handguns, not by any means. Obviously, this instructor is. That said, I do have 1 safety concern that jumped out at me while watching this video: When Mr. Magill goes to demonstrate the laser at first, he aims the gun at his support hand and pulls the trigger. That seems like a terrible thing to do and seems to be encouraging a very unsafe habit. Instead, why not aim the gun in a safe direction, namely at a target and demonstrate the laser that way.
"The skills you learn here will translate directly to the range". Yeah, if my range allowed us to holster fire. I understand why not, but it sucks I can't practice live firing from the holster.
I think Lenny's draw would be safer if his support hand wasn't downrange of the muzzle in the moment when the pistol is rotated toward the target. If his support hand actually touched his shirt on the draw then it would come to the grip from behind the muzzle.
pull the slide back as if you were to take the slide out to clean it but not to much, about a 1/4 back, fold a piece of paper about 5 times into a small square, jam it between the ejector and the slide and that's it. You won't have to rack the slide back every single time reset the trigger. I own a glock 26 that's what I do. I think theres a video here on youtube...
I looked on glockstore.com and the ultimate dry fire practice kit, the reset trigger kit are not on the website and the magic bullet ammo is for real guns and cost way over 100 dollars and the laser targets are 100 dollars a piece not including shipping. You could just buy a full metal construction gas operated blow back system airsoft Glock or full metal construction gas operated blow back system bb pistol and practice with that. That's what I do and when I go to the range my shooting is spot on and all I do is set up a competition shooting obstacle course in the back yard and that's how a practice.
Besides the usual "snap caps", there are laser cartridges that you can chamber and they will shoot a brief laser beam when the firing pin strikes the center of the cartridge. I have these from 45 ACP and for 380 ACP. They seem to work really well.
The more time that you spend feeling, and handling your gun, the better you will become. It's like a kid wanting to learn ball handling skills. He doesn't have to go outside and shoot basketball every day, to become a good ball handler. Watching gun videos is great, and very beneficial. But, it WILL NOT make you a good gun handler. Period. It's just like any other activity in life. You only get out of it, what you're willing to put into it. Practice, practice, practice.
Carlos Cardona Agreed. The fact that the handgun is completely unable to actually fire a round while the laser is in the chamber seems to have missed Mr. Rankin.
Thats great and this guy knows what hes talking about but unfortunately the two by far most important things when using a gun for self deffense is exacly what isnt helped by these training tools.1.people usauly miss because they flinch before the big explosion recoil and noise which makes u jerk the trigger, flinch so on.2.is people shooting EVEN WITH LIVE FIRE AT A RANGE are not beyond pumped full of adrenaline with tunnel vision and laying down with out hearing protection in a dark place at a moving target being shot back at so on.not thats theres anyway to train for that but my dad would make me stay up for a long time and right before the range give me a caffine tablet and put my laptop next to the target so if i miss its a huge deal.he said im gonna be the man of the house full of women and he was right and i dont think pf him as insane anymore.
No matter how much you know Lenny can always teach ya more love the videos and always trace back to them man.
Just a thank you for your dedication and hard work. As a new shooter, I really appreciate your willingness to help others improve on their craft.

Do you have to have a snap round to protect your weapon? If not, what are snap rounds for, loading practice?
This is the 7th episode on a topic that could've been finished in one!!!

I can only “shoot” Christmas decorations so many times!
Dude this quarantine is killer
So did I miss where I could get these handy dandy dry fire tools?
Do you ship the Dry Fire Glock with Trigger Reset in the Philippines?
bro this is awesome
Great video, great info!! Thank you!! 👍
Great video! Is that G19 a real gun or is it the Glock 19 airsoft? Can you put the laser ammo inside of the airsoft version seeing it has the slide?
Doesn’t even blink. This is how I will protect my family.
OMG I NEED THIS SYSTEM
That is cool.
Is it ok to dry fire the new Glock with out a snap cap?
I've seen some slide damage to an older Glocks.
Ron i Huh? Slide damage from dry firing!!????? Hmmm. Not sure that you understand the mechanics very well.
this turned into a commercial real quick hahaha good info
GlockSTORE channel...
These videos are so cool.
Nice video. Thanks for sharing.
wow... It might just be me, but Lenny can sell me anything!
Robert Sepulveda Lenny could sell a dead bird to a blind kid.
Yeah, Lenny has charisma for sure. Great attitude
I dont even own a glock and i want one

You have to mod the gun for the laser? There is the “dry fire magazine” but that doesn’t work with a new laser and app that you can use.
is this available for purchase? I dont see DFKIT001 on your web site
is it legal in California?
LOL
@@kerrz41 i need a permit for my oversized cock in cali
Wow nice sir
"The skills you learn here will translate directly to the range".
Yeah, if my range allowed us to holster fire. I understand why not, but it sucks I can't practice live firing from the holster.
Robert Burke Dude you need to drive a bit and find a real range.
+Robert Burke
Look for some IDPA matches in your area. It's a great way to practice.
Robert Burke drive out to the middle of nowhere and shoot. that's what I do

Great comment! See my comment, as well. I also point out ano9ther safety concern that I think is important.
What model glock is that??
Does the reset trigger work for a XD 9mm?
my shooting has been so bad lately I need hand grenades for protection
Let me know where u are so i can avoid the area
Aim small,miss small...
Thanks to these videos, the people in my airsoft games won't stand a chance hahaha
Hello. Very very nice presentation. I wonder where can we buy this and how much? Thanks!
why you need to buy it ...here on UA-cam is for free. ..
the video is really suck
Great video as always but it would've be nice to see what happens when you miss !
Junior Rivera nothing
Damn it Lenny stop taking my money

Spektra18 very true. But ironically I can only shoot my airsoft pistols and rifles on weekends now due to nieghbors. Lol.
I wonder also should you use snap caps?.
john clev It's not necessary for modern centerfires like Glocks. The manual will generally specify when dry firing is safe.
Besides the usual "snap caps", there are laser cartridges that you can chamber and they will shoot a brief laser beam when the firing pin strikes the center of the cartridge. I have these from 45 ACP and for 380 ACP. They seem to work really well.
I like it.
You ~ Rock ! !
Dry fire is good but you need live fire to feel recoil, big difference.
Period. Now when you go to the range you can fire and manually eject a live round...
so you're telling me. money free training is the best.. SIgn me up
Get a gas blowback airsoft, set up targets in your backyard or garage, and start practicing.
Super nice... too bad we don’t have these in the Philippines. Suck s!
lenny uses the osolise stance i prefer the weaver much more control
No one in the world can convince me that a gun owner that shoots himself while cleaning a gun is anything but a liar!
Coughing
"make sure there are no magazines in this room"? they are on your belly .. lol
Atty Bong ‘no magazines in the room that are loaded’ and ‘no ammunition in your surroundings’
holy crap he checked to see if his gun was loaded by putting his hand in front of the muzzle!! wtf is he teaching here?!?!
+Stephen Rankin
Thanks Captain Safety.
youre welcome citizen
Stephen Rankin he checked to see if the laser was on . that gun isn't used to actually fire bullets. hence the orange tip
Carlos Cardona
Agreed. The fact that the handgun is completely unable to actually fire a round while the laser is in the chamber seems to have missed Mr. Rankin.
Check out tactrainers.com
The videos and the products
"Shoot fast and accurately" was this a lesson? Or a sales pitch? I'm going with sales pitch. I hate glocks so this wouldn't work for me anyways.
Nice commercial for your crappy plastic crap that only works in a crappy glock

Your dad was hardcore! Good man. God bless him
For glock 9mm, do you keep the unloaded magazine inside the weapon or do you keep it removed?
