The court house featured in this video was the place where the public lynching of a black criminal took place & leftist KNOW the guy was a criminal. BUT just like with George Floyd his entire life of crime doesn't matter all that matters is that the lynching of a black man took place in front of that court house as far as leftist are concerned. The video is racist because it has the court house in it, the video is racist because it shows BLM & Antifa rioting & committing crimes. My questions are; When is black people going to realise that the same corperate leftist funding BLM are the same people paying Anitfa? When are y'all going to accept the #FactualReality of HOW leftist go about GENTRIFICATION of poor black & white neighborhoods? Let me break it down for you. First they get as many people in the "TARGET AREA" pissed off about something EVERY MSM OUTLET IS GOING TO CALL racist. Then BLM will show up in the "target area" to organise a protest against the racism & do all they can to get as much of the poor working class in the "target area" involved in JOINING the protest. While the local poor working class are out protesting ANTIFA GETS BUSED IN & immediately moves to smash & burn the homes, communities & buisnesses of all the poor working class LOCALS off participating in the protest. After that, the democrat city councils & managers quickly declare the "target area" UNSAFE & CONDEMNED all the poor working class LOCALS from the "target area" LOSE EVERYTHING & have no choice but to leave. Then the democrat city council & managers go on TV & SAY they do not condone violence but find it "UNDERSTANDABLE" in these tragic circumstances. They then go on to talk about "RE-IMMAGINING the "target area" & building back better. TRANSLATION = Now that we have FORCABLY RELOCATED these undesirable poor working class people we can now build more expensive housing & attract RICHER RESIDENTS & WEALTHIER CORPERATE INVESTMENTS to the area. Democrats have been using this same playbook to destroy small businesses & poor black/white communities for the past 40 years! They only reason they keep getting away with it is by screaming RACIST at everyone pointing out HOW they they've been fucking over the poor & working class of the vote blue no matter who people forever.

the song itself is not racist, but the video is but you do not understand why and that is the real issue. That court house they filmed in front of is where many racist events took place, from the crowd lynching of a 18 yr old black male for talking to a white woman, and race riot in the 40's where a couple dozen people where murdered to the white group the formed up there and then went and looted a black community. This is the reason it is being called out and should be, someone involved knew this and is why it was filmed there.

From what I have seen on numerous reaction videos on YT, Black people are saying there is nothing wrong with the song/video and that they are all for it. Whereas there was a reaction video of a white guy who was calling Jason Aldean racist, while that same white guy was threatening to go to cities and towns and commit the very crimes Jason was singing against. Talk about irony. Jason wasn't being racist. If anything he was singing about people like the white guy that was calling him racist, while that same white guy sees nothing wrong with threatening to go into communities and commit criminal acts against innocent people.
I'm really glad he released this song. I've spoken about the difference between the two since I moved to the city. Being a small town girl all my life, lived in the city for the past four years. I have been ready to go home since week two. Pizza delivery ain't worth the crime rates. People are hateful, cruel, and don't care about each other in the city. You so much as sigh 'hi' just to be nice and greet someone with a smile and they yell at you about not knowing you. Of course I don't know you! Still a human being! I don't have to know you to show respect and demand it in return.
I believe this song crosses all racial lines, it's about community unity, and don't bring that violence into my neighborhood cause we stand together.

This song is 🔥! I am a 63 year old, big city resident my entire life and not a fan of country music but this one is catchy and has a good message. I can't speak for the rest of small town America.....but I'll damn sure speak for mine. In my small town here in Texas, we are all about community and family. We all know each other. We all help each other. We all respect each other. We might disagree on certain issues, but we still respect each other and we will stand up for each other.

The courthouse in the background is a place where a lynching happened. But there have been countless movies and shows that used the same courthouse. Even in large cities, neighborhoods can stand together and defend against the violence that comes. You don’t have to be in a small town to fight for each other. Put aside your differences and start standing together and watch what happens in your community. We as Americans, can stop this madness if we try. Violence hurts everyone, try standing up for each other and fight for your rights and freedoms and you’ll be amazed at what happens. It starts with block parties and getting to know your neighbors.

If it wasn't for the uproar, I might not have heard of this song. So I checked it out, and I love it, so I bought it.
It's amazing that Aldean releases a song that is *for* community and freedom, and *against* crime, and everyone's sayin' he's a bad guy, his song is all these negative things. And yet, no, it's not. Those people aren't listening to the message being conveyed. First set of lyrics call out the divided status of all the big cities that *let* what is sung about happen, as to where smaller towns will flock to those in trouble to help or protect them, whatever the case may be.

When our town was threatened with possible riots, we had a meeting & closed every street into town down. They try to make something out of the history of the courthouse. Take ANY courthouse in America and there will be some controversy attached to it. They're just reaching.
I'm a transgender woman who first heard about this song due to the controversy. Politically I consider myself center-left, with a libertarian bent. I grew up in a conservative (but generally not religious) family, then had my liberal-progressive phase back in college. As I've matured, I've come to realize that free speech means free speech for everyone, and that big government isn't usually the best solution. I do realize that free speech doesn't mean freedom from consequences, but cancel culture takes "consequences" to an unnecessary extreme in many cases, especially to people without the fame or following that Jason Aldean has (not to mention large parts of his fanbase probably oppose cancel culture).
The problem I believe many people have with _Try That In A Small Town_ involves the combination of the lyrics in the verses, the imagery in the video, and the lyrics in the chorus (especially the "see how far you make it down the road / 'round here we take care of our own" lines). It's easy to perceive the lyrics as referring to vigilante justice, and from there, make a connection with lynching (as a product of vigilantism).
Truthfully, I'm sick of all of this senseless violence and political division. Too many people try to "resolve" their problems by resorting to violence. It's a problem on both sides of the political spectrum, although many of our mass shootings appear motivated by extreme right-wing ideology. The Allen, TX shooting in May 2023 immediately comes to mind, in consideration of the shooter having Nazi tattoos, as well as the May 2022 Buffalo, NY shooting. I'm not letting the left off the hook either, in light of some of the unnecessary violence that occurred in summer 2020. What happened to George Floyd was not justified at all, but neither was looting, rioting, and vandalizing businesses. I'll also say that taking the law into your own hands isn't justified either, because we have the rule of law.
By the way, I also live here in Fort Worth. I'm pretty sure we avoided the kind of riots depicted in Aldean's music video. Yes, we have problems here, although I personally find living here to be the perfect mix of city life and safety. Sometimes I wish the environment here were more LGBTQIA+ friendly, especially to transgender people like myself, but I do find some room for common ground through framing it as a personal freedom issue. As much as I'd like to live in a progressive city, I can't help but notice what has happened to places like San Francisco and Seattle. Both the cost of living and the homelessness crisis are out of control there. People need help... which is what "taking care of our own" should mean, including (but not only) when it comes to our own family members who might be struggling.

Also keep in mind that Jason Aldean was the performer who was playing on stage when a man opened fire on the venue in Las Vegas. He literally had to run off stage while bullets were flying. In a matter of minutes there were over 1000 rounds fired, injuring more than 850 and killing 60 people. If anyone had the right to push an agenda or divide the country over firearms and/or violence, he would be one of them. Instead, he is using his music and his platform to show what it means be a proud American. The people who are criticizing this song and video need a wake up call and a check of their mental health. The filming location is the Murray County Courthouse in Columbia TN, the location of a brutal lynching in the 1920s.
Columbia was also the location of a large race riot in the 40s that almost resulted in the lynching of a future Supreme Court Justice
TN was infamously known for the Good Ol Boys Roundups in the 1990s where fake lynchings were often acted out.
Aldean references the Good Ol Boys a few times in the song
All of the depictions of small town families at the end of the video are white people

Now, Jason might not have known about that when he shot the video. Also, Miley Cyrus shot some of her movie, Hannah Montana, the movie at that same courthouse, but that was OK to do?
He also lives in Columbia @ 15-20 minutes from courthouse.

I think you're missing something here. 🤔 He lives near this place and is well aware of it's past. Is he inferring that in this small town, part of the townsfolk sticking together may go as far as lynching? Is he signaling something here for the large number of KKK, white supremacist that live in these small towns? They absolutely do use dog whistles , hand signals, to convey their hateful messages to each other, just like gang members. Seems like a subtle dog whistle from and to the klan to me.
