There is a mountain of country music that is without question worth listening to, Willie Nelson is one of about seven in the male gender alone. There's also Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Kris Kristofferson, Hank Williams of course, Merle Haggard, and the Sons of the Pioneers, to name a few. All of them are worth hearing. Especially Waylon Jennings, IMHO.
Mr Willie Nelson is a legend in country.. let's be respectful.. I appreciate you diving in this genre..its important to know where it comes from.. there's something just magical about that generation of artists and their music,, you don't hear it today.. Country music is close to Soul music both coming from a similar place...
In the 60's and early 70's Willie was a successful Nashville songwriter(Funny How Time Slips Away, Hello Walls, etc). In about 1975 he made his Red Headed Stranger album and started 50 years of performing his own brand of country music.
