Thanks very much for including me in this! =) An interesting fact I just learned the other day: despite popular opinion that Enix merged with Square to save them financially after the Spirits Within disaster, Enix actually considered pulling out of the deal entirely because it was looking less and less worth it for them. It was only after Sony themselves invested yet more money into Squaresoft and the huge success of Final Fantasy X that Enix were brought back round to the merger. So that's yet another time Sony splashed cash to help a studio out with not much expected in return. They just had faith that FFX would be huge for PS2. Unheard of nowadays!
I actually cut a bit in the script about that investment and how sony actually sold back a majority stake to square to allow them to pursue Nintendo again during the game cube era.
Yeah, it's how Crystal Chronicles came about! It wasn't bad, feels a bit crap playing without 4 people though. (Not that I've ever had chance to do that haha) I do think Sony missed a huge opportunity to just buy Squaresoft outright at that point, which might have saved us the later bonehead move of Square Enix staff leaving to make Xbox exclusives.
Your videos are crazy informative! I’ve never heard about the fallout between Sony and Nintendo, no other video about the game i’ve watched to ever include this detail! You need more subs my friend! ❤
Even though not everything was entirely knew knowledge to YT or the like, the way you delivered it was fantastic and well edited. Stuff like this really helps new ff fans get in, so thank you!
I love 7, 6 and 8. My female beagle is named Aerith. FF7 was the first game I bought with a paycheck. Remake was done well. Rebirth is even better. But will never hit home like the OG 7.
@@kentuckyjerk323 I actually didn't love remake too much and was worried I'd feel the same about rebirth. I'm like 30 hours in and loving it. Wish they'd initially gone this route for these games but hey them the break. Also ff9 is goated love that game.
I only heard about it the other day is there alot there? I've only seen a single article on my google feed but if you have an source I'd be more than happy to check them out.
@@KevstreehouseNintendo court filing is pretty interesting. They are using the anti-circumvention part in DMCA to make their case. Which I think has a serious loophole. Let me explain with an example: It is legal to make copies of games you own for preservation. It is illegal to circumvent copyright protection. This is the tricky part, you can't make copies of games without circumventing the copyright protection, so the 1st part is pretty much meaningless. If Nintendo wins this case. Emulation kinda becomes illegal in USA.

Nice to see you rog 😁
FF7 and FFT are my two favorite games of all time. I still play them both, with a complete playthrough of FFT every year.
I really need to give tactics a proper go. It looks amazing

That's odd. I would assume you'd have more views for something this well put together.
Yts weird like that. It might kick off once rebirth drops
Yup, I'm here because of your preservation video. Speaking of which, did you know the N is suing yuzu?
What? No I didn't.
I wish I could’ve played FF7 when it first came out in the 90s. I feel like I would’ve appreciated it so much more.
I remember a neighbours brother playing through 9 as a kid and being blown away by how amazing it looked. Shame I wasn't a reader back then 😅
Cover Nintendo v Yuzu. Please!
