More than half the world is a tropical/subtropical or desert area. Most of Asia is tropical/subtropical, the MIddle East is mostly desert, so the over heating problem is an issue worldwide.
@GH0STST4RSCR34M There's an online test going on to test the display and hinge of the Flip 5 and Motorola Razr right now on YT. The flip 5 is still going with over 400k, the Moto died at 126k.
@GH0STST4RSCR34M those tests you claim test differently and test way out of spec with the way the manufacturer's test them. They are doing a tougher test to see how the phone will stand up to a human who slams the phone shut or gets it wet and folds it or use it in hot weather and fold it. Yes, they did tests folding the phone while being in a 60*C hotbox and while submerged in water. They even did a mill-spec test, which was never done by samsung to their folding phones. They basically abused the phones, and if one lasts longer than another, then you know it's made better than the other. Nothing fake about it or whatever you claim. Edit: about screen dying in different amounts of fold, no sh*t sherlock. Haven't you heard of defective products? No product is 100% perfect. Of the millions of folding phones Sammy has sold, you'll hear a handful of complaints, and it won't even reach 1% of the total units sold.
As MKBHD mentioned in his video about iOS 17, most of the features rely on other people also having iPhones with iOS 17, so it makes sense that you didn’t enjoy it much or see it as a big upgrade as a beta tester.
Really shows how aggravatingly annoying it is that they take away the ability to downgrade to earlier versions as well or just allow people to use some of these features as they would like to.
i would want an iphone again so bad just from the design/feel standpoint but the new ios just makes me gag, both from looks and functionality as of 16/17
My main issue, as someone who plays games on my iPhone a lot on my commute, is my performance. There's a glitch that causes a games frame rates to cut in half when touching the screen, which is really distracting in racing games particularly. I really hope the 15 fixes it, because it makes the 14 Pro feels less powerful than an 11 Pro
Maybe the games aren't optimized, making it seem like it's a less powerful phone. I'm not so sure though because some extensive games work smoother and better on my 14 Pro Max.
Yeap maybe it’s bro’s IPhone cause 14 pro and Pro Max are the same and they all do the same things except big screen battery life and display size apart from dah all the same they’ll play games the same way
Enjoying my 14 pro max, upgraded from the 12 pro max, yeah the 14 pro max is heavier and bulkier..but so is every pro max version 😁 will hold off from the 15 series, and will upgrade to the 16 series once it comes out, you tend to notice iphones have some bugs both parts and software wise whenever they release a new model..and they tend to get it right every other model they release so, I will keep my tradition of every other model upgrade if I can or might as well hold on to my 14 promax till iphone 17 comes out, that's if my current iphone does not give me problems for the next 2 years, hopefully
For someone who travels and likes to buy affordable local smartphone service, I need to have a physical sim slot. The rest of the world hasn't jumped onto just using esims yet. Esim is great as a secondary option but when it's not available then it can suck. That's why iPhones sold out of the US have a sim slot still. I can only assume US is the test market for the esim only idea.
I had so many problems with my 14 pm after having the 12 pro max. After 5 months of missing calls or not being able to make calls, Apple replaced it but the issue continues. It all boiled down to the fact that the sim card in my 12 was still getting the calls but not the phone itself. Everything was going straight to vm. Wouldn’t even get text. I would reboot and it would be fine for a while then it would be a nightmare again. I like the physical sim.
I am facing a similar issue on my Galaxy A73. Actually, I was planning to invest in an iPhone after trading in my phone. The problem can arise from multiple issues as I understand, since this is not a case with all the units of the same model. There can be SIM tray issues (mine was stuck once while I was changing SIMs and I had to rely on the service center to correct it), or problems with the SIM card itself. One of my previous phones had a similar issue and after replacing the SIM with a new one, I didn't face the issue.
Hey, I had a similar issue with the XR, turns out some chips don't work (maybe the size or the cut?). I just tried with other SIM on same Carrier company and works flawlessly. I suggest you to try the same, maybe it helps.
Even without a-sim I have had numerous issues with iPhone texting or calling iPhone and no notifications or nothing- the text just never came through despite the other phone saying it was delivered.
I'm under the impression you enjoyed the iPhone 13 Pro more than this 😂 Lots of iPhone 14 Pro reviews recently have been showing up. Definitely glad to see this phone get attention than its Pro Max counterpart. Battery, unfortunately, was a common complaint I heard about this phone. Crazy how the Galaxy S23 Plus, which is the same price in the U.S, has much better battery and isn't even the "top of the line" like the Galaxy S23 Ultra but to me, it feels like that since it has everything you want that you ideally wouldn't use on the Ultra. Just my perspective, though. Anyway, the iPhone 14 Pro definitely is a solid device for sure, and I'm not even an Apple fan 😂
I think overall, the iPhone 13 Pro was a very straightforward update. The iPhone 14 Pro for me has sort of fallen apart. The battery life/health has degraded so fast, the Dynamic Island is “meh” and the camera feature are so advanced that it’s hard to properly utilize them.
@@TechDailyPeople who are looking for a true cameraphone would be looking for a Sony Xperia. The battery on the S23+ is far larger. 4,700mAh vs 3,200mAh.
@@TechDailyI’ve kept my 13 pro gold since launch, I’ve only held onto my X and 6S for two years and this is by far the best phone I’ve had after a year. The X and 6S started to show their age after a yeae
I have the iPhone 14 Pro Max. Moving to Android due to esim and lackluster iOS17. I think the esim was utilized to trap you into Apple even more as you cannot move between phones like you can with a SIM card,
I'm tempted to go back to Android, myself. I switched my S20 to the 14 Pro and while I've always been an Apple user, my old S20 was my first Android phone, I've felt myself regretting the swap back a bit.
@@PKMNTrainerEeveeWhat's great too is that OneUI 6, aka Samsung's Android 13, has very improved stability and efficiency and the new chipset is extremely efficient and quick. The cameras are also amazing on the S23 lineup.
I got the regular 13 as my first ios device last year,to be exact 11 months ago ,even tho the 14 series came out i decided that it wasn't worth the extra money for not that much of a difference. Almost a year later i have 97 % battery health and i coudn't be more happy. One time i stress tested the battery from 100 to 5% before it died, i got 14 h and 45 min of screen on time. No regrets on my decision.
I have a iPhone 14 Plus and the battery degradation has already hit my phone. I upgraded to the 14 Plus in May from my iPhone 11 and my battery life is already at 98%. I’m not a heavy phone users, just use it for music streaming and scrolling social media, so I don’t charge it everyday unless it needs it. Definitely makes me think about switching to android.
At this point, there's barely any point in going for iPhones. The only major thing they have going for them is iPhone to iPhone compatibility. But that's only because Apple is a crappy company and refuses to adopt the Industry standard, RCS, and to make things like FaceTime available on other platforms. Apple is trying to monopolize the smartphone space and it's pretty infuriating to see people criticize Androids for lack of iPhone compatibility even though Apple is the issue. Samsungs work with Motorolas and Pixels and OnePluses and all kinds of Androids but iPhones work with iPhones and iPhones only.
Good review. I got my 14 Pro in December and my battery is still at 99%, so idk. But I agree that the dynamic island is another Touch Bar or 3D Touch Moment- super cool but never fully utilized. And for me, it still a bit too big. I’d like the regular iPhone to be smaller and then let the Max be bigger for the people that like that
I'm done with the whole ecosystem, moving to Samsung has been the greatest decision I've ever made. The iphone used to be smooth, trouble free but nowadays these phone has so many hiccups here and there to the point where android nature may not as smooth as apple but nowadays it's hit or miss. So for the price and performance value android is beating apple by a ton.
It's funny how many comparisons I am drawing to my S23. I turned off always on display since the S7 days, same reason as you. My S23 despite being insanely efficient just gets really dim outside when its hot. Esim is scary to set up, but for me it worked instantly. You mentioned how people may not buy the iPhone 15 due to price hikes and same features, and in the recent Apple financial report, they expected less demand as well. That's why they lost a lot of stock value recently. I want to clear some stuff up about the battery, I see a lot of misconceptions and 90% of it isnt false or true. The biggest reason for degradation is amount of cycles a phone is charged, doubly so when it is in heat (almost throttling territory). Wireless charging causes more heat, but it doesnt matter (unless we're talking 5+ years) because its controlled and iPhone speeds are already poor. Same deal with wired. I have a feeling you charge overnight, and also sometimes in extreme heat which explains the loss. Of course thats still not normal even under those conditions, thats insane loss in 1 year. Could be a bug, or the lithium Apple is sourcing from just isn't up to par. Whatever it is, within 3 years you should NEVER notice large differences no matter how "wrong" you charge your device. Usually 85% of total capacity is the norm after 3 years. I'm gonna eventually write an article over this with proper evidence, but for now I guess take this comment for what it is.
Please write an article - there’s so much false info! I definitely use my phone a lot, and no doubt it heats up quite often to a point where performance is significantly impacted. Stupid desert. But I’ve been berated by people who say “wireless charging ruined your battery!!!1” or “you only should use the 5w plug!!!” 🤡
@@TechDaily Yeah as I said maybe in 5 years you'll see a difference but you sure as hell won't before. After the S7 Note scandal every manufacturer started doubling down on battery protection, especially charge speed. So what you do is 100% normal, even on the Chinese androids with 65w charging. It's all calculated and tested in labs. A really good video on fast charging is one made by mrwhosetheboss. Besides what are you gonna do, not charge your phone? The argument just doesn't make sense it's not your responsibility for the product you bought to not kill itself with normal use.
I’ve had my 14 pro since April and the battery has been very good and still at 100% health. It’s been comparable to the 13 pro for me. I got 7 hours of sot yesterday mixed wifi and some LTE/5g usage. I wonder if the phones from launch have more issues with battery? iOS 16 also wasn’t great this year in that regard so maybe Apple updated something.
what ive seen is ppl saying that their iPhones 14's battery health would indicate 100% for months and then drop about 10% all of a sudden, so ig either the iPhone is lying abt the health for months or Apple is forcing the battery health indicator to go down now that the new lineup is around the corner so people will update
@@ceciliapereira3058I'm not an iPhone user but I work with them pretty often since some of my family has them. I have definitely noticed this, the health lingers at 100 for many months, then once it bumps down to 99 it rapidly drops until it slows to around 80 after a while.
@@ceciliapereira3058 this. If you want to see your actual battery health, you need to use CoconutBattery. My 14 PM reports 99% after 87 cycles but the actual capacity is above 100%.
That battery degradation is rough. My GF has had a S21 for over 2 years and hers is at 94%. I bring up hers because she games. Like constantly plus streaming music. She charges her phone at least twice a day and wireless charges every night. My S21 I got around the same time is at 96% and I never game on my phone so I just charge over night wireless. I was expecting a wider margin between the two honestly.
I haven't had any issues with my 14 pro max and i've owned it since oct 27th. My battery health is still at 100% and I usually charge it up once every 1.5 days or so using only magsafe and i use my phone every day. The speed of my phone is still very fast and i have had no issues with my e sim on cricket wireless network.
I'm from South Africa. As a third world country with average telecommunication infrastructure, I learnt about esim this year for the first time and it took within 30mins for the esim activation, and had zero issues since.
The Battery health thing is always weird I still have an 11 Pro with 80 something % My iPhones usually lose like 3% a year or even less And I don’t really do anything special I use a 65w charger and not even Apple Original cables
I’ve had Androids and iPhones since their inception. I’ve even had a “wedge” A T&T phone. I had iPhone’s 5,7,XR and 11. The 14 Pro is the best phone I’ve ever owned. The battery is at 98% after a year of heavy use, pictures & videos are first rate. I’ll keep it another year.
Totally agree Wade. I have owned my 10R from new which does everything I need, Nearly five years old now, so may change this fall, but if I do I will probably go for an iPhone 13 which hopefully they will discount as thier oldest phone. If so that will be a no brainer as it will have 95% of what the 15 can do for much cheaper. Like you say most average users barely scratch the surface of thier phones abilities, so why pay excessively just for the new model. Speaking of models, you should be one. Gorgeous :)
@@Howdidhenotseemenot true. Who keeps a phone for more than 5 years? Even if so, the 13 will get updated almos 6-7 years so dont panic. Apple wants us to buy the newest all the time which is all about marketing. Not everyone falks for it
The iPhone 14 Pro is my first apple phone. I remember being interested in it for its car crash safety feature and it’s cameras, but after having it for almost a year from using Samsung phones, the "honeymoon" phase has been long over and I’ve been generally disappointed with the experience. Besides aesthetics and some really good cameras, the user experience has been frustrating. I understand it’s more simple, not designed for extreme customization, but when it comes to simple things like typing and wanting to edit a word, why on earth do the devs think it’s better to tap on a word where you want to edit, only for the marker to be in front or behind the word itself. This sounds like a minuscule thing, but a thing as simple as pressing in the middle of the word to delete/ edit one letter only to have it go to the front and back and then I have to drag my finger across the word and place the marker where I originally wanted it has been absurdly frustrating. I use my phone for work and I type a lot so it’s an issue for me. Overall I really miss Android and using Samsung phones. I enjoy the customization and the ability to edit every aspect of my display, and to be able to edit text messages easily. There’s more I could rant about but I’ll leave it here. Once I pay off the phone I’m selling it or trading it in for a flagship Samsung device. I don’t think I’ll be going back to apple ever again, at least not for their phones.
I never buy a newly launched phone. Within a month we already knew, for example, that it's predecessor the iPhone 13 Pro Max had better battery life. The lack of fragmentation isn't the issue. Samsung's needs of t phone isn't always their best. E.g Galaxy S5,S6, Note 7 and S21 Ultra. Apple has never had iOS competition. It's more likely their 2 year cycle. The iPhone 11 Pro Max and iPhone 13 Pro Max were better than the 12PM and 14PM imo. I expect the 15 PM to be a very good iPhone. I'll upgrade from my 3 year old iPhone 11 Pro Max (bought July 2020) to it in July 2024
I've never really liked the always on display feature on any device I've owned. Tried it out for a day and I've never missed it. I see it as an unnecessary battery drain. I use the "double tap to wake" instead on my Xiaomi phone.
After having the AoD for my 14 Pro on and off. I decided last month to turn it off for good. I noticed I dont look at my phone as much and well, I have a Apple Watch which has it's own AoD so I didnt need both.
My experience was amazing. The cameras are incredible The performance is amazing The screen brightness is insane The dynamic island A beautiful 120hz VRR display (almost) PERFECTION (the battery life could have been better)
I have an iPhone 14 Pro Max and my experienced has been awesome: I have 98% battery health, eSim was a positive change for me and had no problems with it at all, iOS has been great, the build quality is wonderful/space black is so good, dynamic island is a cute little feature... And I think iPhone 15 (particularly the pro models) will be a huge update than in past years - Bigger batteries, iOS 17, USB-C, Titanium build, thinner bezels.
I’ve had the iPhone 14 pro I got it after Christmas traded my old iPhone 11 to the iPhone 14 pro and the battery is amazing it’s last me a whole day of using it and 6 months later my battery is still at 100%
Picked up a gently used Se 3 from the used market with 99% battery health left for $150. Then traded in my XR to Best Buy for a $150 gift card. I'm good for a few years, and would never spend 1K on a smartphone.
I lost two screen on hours from the beginning going from my 13 pro max to my 14 pro max. Not a beta user. It’s now 3.5 hours less after a year with 87% health remaining.
I feel like with having a thicker phone, you’re gonna add an even thicker case like most people; which would just make the phone too much to hold or have in your pocket
@@TechDaily i think the camera bump is the compromise, since it prevents the phone being too thick, and i assume most smartphones have no components behind a camera besides the screen itself
I feel like thickness is less of an issue than length of the phone. Eventhough the Galaxy Z Flip is a lot thicker when folded, it feels much smaller in the pocket than an iPhone or Galaxy S.
Another major negative that is not mentioned is that the new 48 Mp pictures can only be saved using Apple proprietary format, which consumes tons of space. A single picture can take up to about 150 MB, depending on the complexity of the scene. This issue would not have existed had Apple offered the option to save using the much lighter HEIF format. (Besides, this supposedly RAW format imposes post processing, so it's not even a real RAW.)
My biggest issue with the iPhone 14 series and newer was the esim thing. As a guy that has a love hate relationship with Apple, I don't like being trapped in the same phone and not having the ability to switch my sim card into any phone I want. I will say lately I'm more of an iPhone guy because in general it's more reliable than android. But Apple also should do more quality assurance on things like making sure esim works well and ensuring the battery health and battery life are stable. Because you shouldn't give over $1000 for a phone then having worry about battery life or it overheating. These days every phone manufacturer keeps upping the prices on their phones while giving us subpar devices that overheat and don't give stable battery life. And that's completely unacceptable.
It’s the month before the new iPhone is launched and people FINALLY start giving their TRUE opinion of its predecessor🤔. I’m expecting even more when the iPhone 15 series goes on sale. Most UA-camr’s flip and flop like a fish on dry land. 2021 : “I love the new curved edges “ 2022: “I love the straight flat edges”. 2023:”I love the new curved edges “
The battery problem is interesting, I have owned my 14 Pro since December 2022, now going into September 2023, and I still have 100% peak capacity, I mainly use wire charging from my PC's USB C port, but also MagSafe here and there, but even with 100% peak capacity, I am not that impressed, sure the phone lasts me a full day, but so did my old Pixel 2 XL that I have upgraded from.
I think your grievances are good ones. I bought a iPhone 13 pro max and had to use it a couple months, because my carrier simply didn't have the phone I wanted. It was a NIGHTMARE. Typing was extremely buggy, the phone seems sluggish and at times just refused to cooperate. Touch sensitivity was garbage, scrolling had bugs and stuttering, and even the most basic functions seemed needlessly overcomplicated. And OMG the voice to text was absolutely BROKEN. The cursor would jump to a random location in the text, after completing the voice to text. It would also never use proper punctuation, spell check NEVER worked properly, and on and on. I heard IOS 16 was buggy, but WOW! NOTHING worked properly on the phone except the cameras and battery. I said a prayer and thanked God when my Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra finally arrived. I will NEVER go back to an iPhone again. Yes they may have been top dog for years, but not anymore. I'm never looking back.
I never had a problem with setting up/using e-sim. When I set up my phone I had no issue and when I went to another country, I bought the e-sim online and had no issues with it. On the topic of the dinamic island i'm not gonna say it's the best feature, but it's nice to have. I hope apple gives everyone with a 14 Pro series a free battery replacement bec how is it already at 90% when my XR didn't even reach 90% after more than 3 yrs.
Yeah im switching to s23 ultra even though is alot cheaper if you trade in an iphone to me the 14 pro and pro max feels outdated comparing to s23 ultra
iPhones always feel outdated, Apple uses old technology and updates it to work with only their phones. They also wait until features are on other phones and proven to be good before they introduce it.
About dang time someone actually bothered to say something about this eSIM. I ALWAYS hated the fact that they forced people to use this here in the US and it aggravates me more that they continued to screw us North American users more while the rest of the world get to keep the SIM card tray still. And I've always said that this BS change was so bloody unnecessary, it's baffling that so many sheeples keep on defending this! It's this kind of stuff that's me wanting to switch over to Android more and more.
Just a tip when you're complaining to the dynamic island for swiping it down to access the control center or the notif bar just dont swipe it from the center from the dynamic island just swipe it to left or right just like the old iphones
I really like my iphone 14 pro. I switched from 13 pro max. The only one thing that sucks is that the speakers are not nearly as loud. Other than that no major gripe. Lovely phone. Easy 9/10.
I feel like e-sim struggles is a US problem(and probably some other countries aswell). I live in Sweden so I didnt have to use e-sim but decided to ditch my physical card and try e-sim with the 14 Pro. Zero problems and suuuuuper easy to get set up, just had to log into my carriers site, press "Get e-sim" and scan the QR code
part of the reason you struggle with your dynamic island when trying to access your notifications is having the incorrect screen protector installed the small notch for the ear speaker serves no purpose on the 14 pro unless the protector is installed way to high on the screen
Using the MagSafe charger is definitely degrading your battery quicker. I’ve noticed temps are easily 15-20 degrees higher when charging via that method rather than the fast charging cable. The extra heat is not good for the battery and I’ve noticed my regular 14 runs way hotter than my old 13 pro max. Honestly should’ve stuck with it even though I hated the size. Apple is about to lose me as a customer here before long if they don’t get their shit together. Yes, the regular 14 does everything I need it to except for the camera. The lack of zoom in this phone is beyond frustrating for 2023. Also the quality just seems like trash overall sometimes compared to my old pro. I don’t really care about the refresh rate on a phone I hardly use for anything other than calls and the usual work stuff but if apple didn’t have iMessage, app stability, longer support and just overall the best continuity between all my stuff I would’ve stuck with the nexus/pixel phones. Google is catching up quick and Samsung/pixels are looking better and better
i charge my iPhone 14 Pro with the charger that was included in the box and my battery health is still high (99%) but idk why it drops faster than i thought when i bought the phone last year. i also have to say that i try to have the battery in between 30-40% to 80-90% and sometimes i can wait 2-3 days to plug it again. also try to calibrate the battery once a month or every 2 months, it's really worth it!
The overheating problem is horrible. I navigate and do ride sharing and it overheats like crazy and gets really slow and laggy. Also dont leave it in direct sunlight, like on your seat in your car, it will get very hot and not function. This doesnt happen with my S23 Ultra. I can leave it in the sun, which is in my passenger seat and it wont slow down at all even when its hard to touch. I really hope they fix the thermals on the 15.
Take the 14 pro or the pro max, the only dilemma is the battery, can the pro push through the whole day or is it safer to take the pro max (I'm leaning towards the pro model because of the looks, but the pro max because of the battery)
I have been using my 14 pro for just over a year and the battery capacity has dropped to 92% which is not something I would expect from a device at this price point. I was wondering if there is any I can do to reduce this process
Wow, I have the IPhone 12 Pro Max from launch to now (2020-2023) and my battery health is 85% as of this video. That’s crazy the 14 dropped so much with only a year!!! I never used the mag safe charger but I do use my phone at peak brightness a lot and it does get warm a lot.
When I first got my 11 it lasted 2-3 days before I needed to recharge it. Now I am lucky if I get through the day without needing a recharge towards the end of the day- this is only with 1-3 hours of screen time each day. This is all with less than a year of ownership.
When the first and second IOS 17 betas came out the battery was abysmal, I have a 13 mini and the battery, with normal use had to be charged twice a day sometimes. The 13 Pro Max which had an insane battery life, that needed to be charged once every 2-3 days, went to 1 per day charge sometimes even more. I wonder if those problems helped to deteriorate the battery, would be nice to see a comparison between phones that were never on the iOS 17 beta and those that were.
Also remember the texting downgrade and removing security and encryption on texting on all iPhone users since iPhone has not used current cellular texting standards.
I have an iPhone 12. Probably will never upgrade to any other iPhone. If I do, It will be a European version with the sim card slot. I use both iPhone and Android, and I think the 12 is Apples best one. Great vid Wade..thank you!!
The battery health on my 14 Pro is still holding at 100 percent after nearly 8 months, I keep it in low power mode almost all the time. I will go full power when I’m shooting video but I can’t think of any other reason, I’m not a gamer. Mostly all I do is listen to internet radio
thanks for this video wade, i've had my 13 since feb of 2022 and it still has a max capacity of 93%, not gonna lie i was eyeing a 14 pro/pro max but upon watching your video i'm glad i stuck my ol' reliable
My 14 PM is still at 100% battery health, altough I have noticed battery is draining sooner than before, I use the 5 watt apple charger and I don’t care how long does it take to be fully charged
I was really going to upgrade to the pro… but after having XR, 11, 12, 13 i missed the larger phone of 6+ and 7+ so i upgraded and traded my 13 just recently to 14PM in deep purple 🥳 love it
@@sprinkleddonuts6094 I can tell you like your donuts with colored sprinkles :D! For real though, the purple is really nice. It's not very often people respond like you do because at the end of the day, it's your phone and it matters if you like it and not if some new version, with what I would call mediocre updates comes out.
I sold my iPhone 14 Pro Max, it was very buggy. Right out of the box, It was bad. Seriously considering Android. I have anxiety about buying another iPhone.
Android is where it's at. Most people that dunk on Android are the same ones who used a 10 year old low end Android device and then act like the phones haven't changed since. The cool thing about Android is you have a ridiculous amount of options, especially on Samsungs, so you can decide whether you want it simplified or super complex. I personally have mine on the complex side because I enjoy using all the features on OneUI enhanced by Good Lock.
As a user living near the equator which is always hot I can say yes overheating can and will happen . But also as a photographer u greatly depend on my iPhone for videos and photos professionally as sometimes depending on the conditions I’d rather not risk damaging my professional camera and the iPhone 14pro does fantastic. I use a lot of different apps that truly let me control every last feature and function of the iPhone . The battery is my only real complaint. Otherwise the apps and editing capabilities are great !
100% is a software issue since I got the same one with my iphone 13 pro. After the update on ios 16.5.1 the battery dropped from 95% health to 90% in a matter of days. Not to mention the extreme overheating
My 14 ProMax has still 100% battery health after almost a year. Maybe you are quite a heavy user. I noticed that your WiFi, data and bluetooth are all ON,
Well I'm really supprised about the battery life. Don't get me wrong, but Apple didn't really care about the battery life whatsoever even at older models. I'm having and iPhone 14 256GB and even after almost 9 months, the battery life is still 100%. I'm not using the wireless charging so often, just sometimes in car. Also using 20W power adapter and not charging overnight. I hope the battery will be usable for atleast another 2 years 😭
Considering getting an iPhone 14 pro now that the 15 is releasing soon, but seeing as the price isn’t moving as much as I would of liked it to. then I guess I’ll have to wait until next year. Sticking to my iPhone XR for now
I’ve had my iPhone 14 pro max since January and my battery capacity is still 100 percent and I’m a heavy user I maybe not as heavy as I used to be since I bought an M2 iPad Pro but I still go pretty hard and My battery is still good
I have the 14 pro max and i hate when it auto enhances my pictures when they looked better before they were reprocessed. It takes away from the already weak HDR and overblows the highlights. Supposedly it’s built into the chip … we can’t turn it off and thats such bs
@@TechDaily Tbh, this could be from my charging habits. I don’t use any special chargers either, just whatever came in the box. I tend to charge at least once in early evening (phone is usually around 50-75% around that time depending on my usage for that day). I also almost never charge to 100 (unless I’ve simply forgotten to unplug). And this is without Optimized Battery charging. I’ve pretty much stuck with these charging “methods” since it worked really well for me last year on three iPhone 13 models (all three remained on 100% battery health for the entire year.
The brightness issue is funny. Thing is, Apple IGNORES the panel manufacturers brightness recommendation to get those high numbers. Looks nice on paper and while the phone holds it, but for obvious reasons mentioned in the video, it us not sustainable. What good is a bright screen when a bit less brightness would be enough aswell as being sustainable for much longer? Right, it just isn't good the way it is now.
I don’t have any of your problems with the dynamic island. I use it and it doesn’t interfere with the drop-down menu or any of the other issues you mentioned. Could always use more third-party support, that won’t come until Apple as it to the regular phone. Will it stick around forever? It will probably stick around until Apple has a way to get rid of it Where can I get that wallpaper
The 13PM was almost better in every way especially battery. My 14 PM is at 87% and I’m a heavy user charging on MagSafe at night then typically fast charging once or twice during the day maybe for 30-50% and it’s just tanked the battery

@GH0STST4RSCR34M There's an online test going on to test the display and hinge of the Flip 5 and Motorola Razr right now on YT. The flip 5 is still going with over 400k, the Moto died at 126k.
true i bought my girl ip14pmax it always stops charging at 80% due to heat. basically we cant hardly use it at 100%
@GH0STST4RSCR34M those tests you claim test differently and test way out of spec with the way the manufacturer's test them.

Really shows how aggravatingly annoying it is that they take away the ability to downgrade to earlier versions as well or just allow people to use some of these features as they would like to.
i would want an iphone again so bad just from the design/feel standpoint but the new ios just makes me gag, both from looks and functionality as of 16/17
This goes to my frustration with Apple tying SO many features to major OS updates.
Yeap maybe it’s bro’s IPhone cause 14 pro and Pro Max are the same and they all do the same things except big screen battery life and display size apart from dah all the same they’ll play games the same way
I think there's an increase in the chip performance in the ProMax models

This guy acting like $999 is expensive for one of these phones when they start at €1,339 in Europe ($1460)
Terrible carrier if they cannot figure out eSIM basic provisioning
Even without a-sim I have had numerous issues with iPhone texting or calling iPhone and no notifications or nothing- the text just never came through despite the other phone saying it was delivered.
I'm under the impression you enjoyed the iPhone 13 Pro more than this 😂
Lots of iPhone 14 Pro reviews recently have been showing up.

And for me, it still a bit too big. I’d like the regular iPhone to be smaller and then let the Max be bigger for the people that like that
I appreciate you being honest bc many youtubers scared to talk bad things about apple since there are so many apple fans boys😂

The lack of fragmentation isn't the issue. Samsung's needs of t phone isn't always their best. E.g Galaxy S5,S6, Note 7 and S21 Ultra. Apple has never had iOS competition. I don’t doubt that…maybe there’s a compromise somewhere in between. I don’t fully understand why camera bulges exist in the first place 🤷♂️

NOTHING worked properly on the phone except the cameras and battery.

part of the reason you struggle with your dynamic island when trying to access your notifications is having the incorrect screen protector installed

Take the 14 pro or the pro max, the only dilemma is the battery, can the pro push through the whole day or is it safer to take the pro max (I'm leaning towards the pro model because of the looks, but the pro max because of the battery)
after 1 year my battery on my 14 pro is down 88%. I have to charge my phone twice a day.. If battery really is an issue then get the pro or plus.
@@CS-pg4go I have a 13 Pro, it's a year and half old now, and I only charge it once a day. It's also at 88%.
I have been using my 14 pro for just over a year and the battery capacity has dropped to 92% which is not something I would expect from a device at this price point. I was wondering if there is any I can do to reduce this process
my iphone 13 pro max is at 89% too and i bought it at launch back in 2021. This phone is a beast
After over a year with my 13PM my battery health is at 99% as of two weeks ago. The battery derogation is an iPhone 14 issue.
Honestly the E sim was apples worst thing for the iPhone 14. It makes it harder to switch, especially if you’re carrier doesn’t have E sim support
Wow my iPhone pro max has a battery life of 86% after 3 years of use can’t believe after 1 year it’s at 89% absolutely unacceptable
The 14 is way better than the 12 😅
lol
The battery health on my 14 Pro is still holding at 100 percent after nearly 8 months, I keep it in low power mode almost all the time. I will go full power when I’m shooting video but I can’t think of any other reason, I’m not a gamer. Mostly all I do is listen to internet radio
thanks for this video wade, i've had my 13 since feb of 2022 and it still has a max capacity of 93%, not gonna lie i was eyeing a 14 pro/pro max but upon watching your video i'm glad i stuck my ol' reliable
Lol😅😅😅
14 pro max is still king🎉
this is not complaining, you just found a reason to put your sponsor in the video
There's been a defect on iPhones and their batteries since the 12 and 2020 SE series. They degrade in under 2 months. It's terrible frankly.
My 14 PM is still at 100% battery health, altough I have noticed battery is draining sooner than before, I use the 5 watt apple charger and I don’t care how long does it take to be fully charged
I was really going to upgrade to the pro… but after having XR, 11, 12, 13 i missed the larger phone of 6+ and 7+ so i upgraded and traded my 13 just recently to 14PM in deep purple 🥳 love it
The 15 is coming out in a week
@@xkultra yea and, don’t like ANY of the colors, never had a pro version.
I have Deep Purple Pro Max and love it
@@sprinkleddonuts6094 I can tell you like your donuts with colored sprinkles :D!

@@ratrodgrady I’m very familiar with Android. My favorite was the Note 10 Plus!
@@jeremiahgant4229 im still using my note10+ in 2023 and it's still better than majority of these garbage phones 4 years later lol.
For about 4months without updating, my battery health is 100% but when I updated to 16.6 it came down to 95% just in 1month
I noticed that your WiFi, data and bluetooth are all ON,
The battery health is a real issue for resale value, what a lot of people do who upgrade every year
Well I'm really supprised about the battery life.
Sticking to my iPhone XR for now
No physical sim means no buy from me. Guess the newest iPhone I'll ever own is the 13. If I ever buy an iPhone...
Gf still uses her xr it's going on 3 tears now. Battery health still at 100% no joke. It's crazy.
wow, that the island will be gone faster than 3D-touch is the worst tech-take I've heard this year :D
Being a heavy user, I’m somewhat amazed at how the battery health on my 14 Pro is still at 100% capacity after almost a year 😅
What’s your secret?? 😅
Is it really though ? Or is that what it wants you the feel
@@mark8200 It’s really at 100% battery health
@@Kara3405 do you use social media a lot? like tik tok, ig (reels)... what you use you give your phone?
that screen protector is a crime
You should see what my screens look like without it 🙃
I agree.. the discontinuation of an iPhone Mini is really bad decision..
For a first phone to gift a teenage, would you go with a new IPhone SE or a Samsung A54?
The brightness issue is funny. Thing is, Apple IGNORES the panel manufacturers brightness recommendation to get those high numbers. Looks nice on paper and while the phone holds it, but for obvious reasons mentioned in the video, it us not sustainable. What good is a bright screen when a bit less brightness would be enough aswell as being sustainable for much longer? Right, it just isn't good the way it is now.
Can you post the link to the purple/blue smoke wallpaper, it looks so good!
I don’t have any of your problems with the dynamic island. I use it and it doesn’t interfere with the drop-down menu or any of the other issues you mentioned. Could always use more third-party support, that won’t come until Apple as it to the regular phone. Will it stick around forever? It will probably stick around until Apple has a way to get rid of it
Where can I get that wallpaper
The 13PM was almost better in every way especially battery. My 14 PM is at 87% and I’m a heavy user charging on MagSafe at night then typically fast charging once or twice during the day maybe for 30-50% and it’s just tanked the battery
100% accurate, battery was best at ios 6.2 and it plummeted from 6.3 and forward, my biggest regret of staying updated since whatever new features we got, i dont event know what they are
Charge it with 10 wat or 12 wat ipad charger for better health
Yikes! 89% battery within a year…. 😅 My 11 Pro Max is at 83% after 4 years. I hope they fix this battery issue on the next release.
