I’ve had my GR1 for almost 2 years. This is the first time I used it for a weekend trip in Vegas as a carry on for the flight. My fiancé was impressed how I conveniently fit a packing cube of all my clothes with a toiletry bag and his mom couldn’t believed it was everything I was bringing (plus a purse as my personal item). Most successful minimal packing I’ve had! I will admit it’s not ideal for always carrying around comfortably as my back aches when having it on for too long. Otherwise nicely designed with structure and best if you’re directly dropping it off at your place of stay.

Nice video! I use my GR1 26l and pack it with at most 10% left of space. No shoes, but I bring my Fuji camera gear with me. Works perfectly.

Nice! Leaving some extra space in your bag is definitely a good idea so things aren’t so tight

Hey guys! Wanted to get a video out for you guys this week before I left so I apologize if this video seems a little unpolished. Nonetheless, I hope you enjoy!

Came out great, just what I was looking for. I pack a bit heavy and wanted to see if a GR1 26L would work for my travel. Seeing what you got in a 21L def gave me some confidence and inspiration.

The back stash pocket would have been a great place to keep your dress shirt

Wait. You brought a roku with you?? omg that's pretty brilliant! I had no idea you could even do that. TVs are not my area of expertise, so is it pretty simple to just hook it up?
Your video was super helpful! Thanks! 😊

It is super easy but you do need to be mindful of those login portals that some hotels have you sign into!

Please update your trip status later along with Merino wool clothes. I am curious and will be waiting for your update. Any suggestions on which type of clothing is preferred if I am planning for a one week trip. And also I would like to know how to maintain hygiene related things including clothes that we would carry, body, hair etc.
Btw, very nice video. I am from India and looking for a week trip. It would be nice if your video helps me out in planning. Cheers!!

Very nice load out. I didn't catch the edc pocket with the multitool

Thank you! If you’re talking about the pouch with my edc in it, that’s the Yellow Birch Outfitters Pocket Pro with a Kizer Uprising, Tactile Turn Bolt Action Pen, and Reylight LAN, all in titanium. There’s also a pocket where I keep my small notebook, and in the zipper pocket I threw in an AirTag to track it. Thanks for watching!

Nice, I just got a CHZ22 because of your reviews. Could you have fit all that into your CHZ22? p.s. Morino wool stuff varies madly, some excellent, some rubbish. I have an old Nike wool running top I love.

Oooh great question... I don't think I'd be able to fit all of that in the 22L CHZ. Even though it has a similar volume, the clamshell opening of the GR1 makes packing more practical. Thanks for watching!

ummm... how did that work out for you?
Also, I had a few questions that I am confused by:
Why didn't you just put the hoodie in the car like you did the shoes? Or just hang up your nice pants and shirt up on a coat hanger freeing up space in the GRI? Then you could have used the goruck packing cube, the tube packing cube from eagle creek and placed the field pocket back to the inside of the gr1 allowing you to keep the sleek look. If you needed exterior space, you could attach the goruck water bottle pouches, that would have held your water bottle freeing up inside space. I simply do not understand the motivation behind this. Were you attempting to walk from your car to your hotel room without being seen carrying anything else but the gr1? If so, why...
I understand if you were going camping or something, but it appears you are going out of your way to make this difficult for some reason? I use the gr1 for fishing trips and camping and it is fulfilling being able to carry a weekend worth of items to survive with, but if I am driving to a hotel room, I am personally not opposed to taking an extra trip to the car to move my stuff.
Help me out here, lol. What am I missing?

      It worked out great!
      To answer your questions:
I didn't put the hoodie in the car because I didn't want to have to carry it out.
I didn't want to hang my pants and shirt to save space in the car and so I didn't have to carry it out.
I don't own Goruck packing cubes.
I don't own Eagle Creek packing cubes.
I preferred having the field pouch on the outside for this load-out.
I don't care too much about a sleek look in this case.
I don't own a Goruck water bottle pouch, and if I did and chose to mount it on the outside, wouldn't that be counterintuitive to your earlier recommendation of putting the field pouch on the inside to keep a sleek look?
The motivation was to fit everything in one bag so that my hands were free, to make it easier to pack and unpack, to have less stuff to keep track of, and to save space in the car
It wasn't really difficult, in fact, it made things much easier!

      Very Nice!
I know it is personal preference, but I think the gr1 still keeps the slick look with the water bottle pouches mounted on the sides. I did get the black pouches with the black gr1, so it blends together in my opinion. At times I care too much about aesthetics and not enough about functionality. I'm not good with balancing that.
I still think the hoodie could have just traveled in the car, lol. Glad it worked out and hope you had a great time!

    • @MorrowGhost
      @MorrowGhost  2 роки тому +1

I could have probably tied the hoodie around my waist to keep my hands free since that did take up a lot of space. Thanks for watching!

How did you like carrying your field pouch on the outside?

    • @MorrowGhost
      @MorrowGhost  2 роки тому

I loved it! I’ll often switch it up between inside and outside for my everyday carry depending on how much I’m carrying, but for the purposes of this trip, carrying it on the outside was great
