Eastwood has everything you need to do the job right when you're restoring a car, truck or motorcycle - from welders to paint and everything in between.
30 gallon tank will deal with "moderate" tire inflation use...Talk about overkill. I'm glad at least that one guy was reasonable saying he had the 30 gallon and it worked for him for most stuff at home.
This video would be much better if they were also mentioning the CFM of each of the compressors.
You are absolutely right, they just talk like my 10 years old son. " this is a big Pump. with big motor. for big job). Daaaaaaa, No CFM , No HP. No Watt, No Price.
lol'd
Was just gonna say that.. prlly really shitty so they dont mention it
I know right I'm sure the 60 gallon are at 15 cfm and the 80 ones are over 20 cfm
The sticker on it looks really cool though 🤣
you need to tell us the specs on each one such as 10cfm at 90psi
Cfm..is something you guys need to talk about for each unit..but thank you..and top psi...for each unit..
really liked the video overall but and liked the chart I just think though that cfm should definitely have been brought up
Your best selling point came 7 minutes and 45 seconds in. It was like oh ya and they made in USA. That should be what you saying from the jump! USA USA USA
Can or do they make a wheeled cart thst you can move the 80 gallons around without mounting them to the floor
I am regular user I use just for my home and my little house on the Prairie can I have 8 bar 22 gallon ?
I did and it’s a King
How often do you drain the air water at Olympics
Lol I use a 30 gal for my blasting needs. Works fine. I have done intakes, valve covers all that and never have to wait. Anyways....
That's a lot different than sandblasting an entire car.
@@JustMe-999a They were trying to make it sound like you couldn't use it for a blast cabinet.
Eastwood is losing credibility every year as they just want to sell you their more expensive products.
Most of their stuff is the same as the stuff from Harbor Freight. It is mostly marketing and a higher price for it.
Well I can tell you all right now that my 8 gallon is next to useless with a die grinder, and on the impact gun, only if the lugs are normal tightness. You got the last guy came in and put them on like they should never come off, you can barely get 1 lug at a time before the tanks refilling.
I use my compressor for spraying lacquer for furniture….specifically piano cases and parts….I spray at 50-60 psi. What compressor would be adequate for my needs?
CFM;s would have been nice - - - single stage vs two stage - - - whats the big difference of the 3 cyl vs the 80 gal pump??
Could you explain the electrical hook ups for the bigger air compressors? The smaller ones work with a normal plug so what do I need for the other ones?
They are hardwired.
If you are not comfortable with deadly voltages and high current, hire an electrician to hook it up for you.
Why can't we have a new technology on air compressors?? We're stuck with 100 year old tech.
Turn compressor on, wait for it to fill.
Use most of the air, wait for it to fill.
Why can't somebody make it so that the thing can monitor the exiting airflow and turn the motor on during heavy use.
You must have never seen the Eastwood Scroll Compressor! Incredible Technology and ultra quiet. Here it is: www.eastwood.com/eastwood-contour-sct
Oh man Smh
How much is the last one 80 air compressor, Turing my man cave into a shop to repair my cars and friends cars.
does the cfm on compressor have to match the cfm on impact gun? I have a 5.8 cfm at 90 psi good size compressor can I run a 6 cfm impact gun?
It depends. CFM on consumer compressors is nonsense. On industrial /commercial compressors you do actually get close to what you are paying for.
First I love your channel, it has been informative in many ways. I have a quick question, is big of a compressor I would need to operate your pedal sand blast gun? I have a gun similar to yours but it’s not picking up the media through the gravity feed cabinet I have.
Thanks, that's great to hear! Are you using our tools? If not you'd need to look up the CFM requirements from the manufacturer of your blast cabinet and then make sure your compressor is rated for at least that.
If that's all correct then your blast cabinet may be having an issue.
Which one can live outside of the garage in a little shack?
I purchased a new 30 gal Kobolt Air compressor and 6 weeks after warranty ran out (5yr) wouldn't you know my crank shaft snapped off. I have been unable to find parts for my motor, 30gal, 155psi from Lowes or Kobolt. Does anyone have any recommendations on where I can order parts (Crankshaft) for my motor. Oil was full when I took off the plastic cover only to find the flywheel sitting there unattached to the belt. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Peace
I think I found my answer. Double the pressure = double the airmass.
Thus: If you needed 90psi and had an 80 gal tank that went to 135psi, there would be 45psi * 80gal of "buffer" or usable air before you drop below 90psi. 3.2k
If you needed the same 90psi but onky had a 40 gal tank, but that 40 gal tank went to 200psi, you would have 110*40 or 4.4k
Thus the high pressure 40 would buffer more than a low pressure 80 (before dropping below 90psi)
I just wasnt sure originally if doubling the pressure of a tank actually meant there was twice as much in it.
@@truthisweareallgonnadie.
I'm restoring my car and plan on using an abrasive. I also eat to paint my car in the garage. Will the 4.7 HP 60 gallon do the job?
What compressor should I buy for 4 bays , and painting job ?
Thanks
I was always told that a 60 gallon would help me paint a car but I just heard the gentleman say that a 60 gallon has to refill up again before it's ready so a 60 gallon is not good to try and paint a car yes or no cuz I have a 83 El Camino that I'm trying to paint
Which is better? Oil Free or one that needs oiling. How often should you oil an Air Compressor? 2 Stage or single stage? You guys left a lot out.
oil free is not very good for longevity. If your needing something, quick, small and cheap then that would be the only time id buy a (rattle compressor) otherwise the belt driven units will probably last you your life.
single stage multi cylinders high volume lower pressure(limit to around 120 psi can go higher but then takes longer) 2 stage higher pressure(builds higher pressures 120 to 200 psi) Change oil once a year should not need to add oil unless leaking, do need to add oil to tools few drops a day, except for paint guns and sandblasters.
Oil free is loud as hell,,,and double stage will almost double your CFM,,,my advice, get a dual stage with oil,,,you can't go wrong with it,
To What size I need to run a sandblaster
What about if you want to do a full paint job on a car
can the 3 gal pancake tank put enough lbs to remove rusty tire lug nut ?
I would like to upgrade my current Campbell Hausfeld portable air compressor to something larger. I'm not a serious DIYer, yet, and plan to run a dedicated line from the garage, (compressor installation site), to the lawn sprinkler system winterization blowout connection in the backyard.
I am not at a point where measuring line length is needed, so I have no idea what the distance from Point A (compressor) to Point B (winterization connection) is at this time.
My automotive projects (currently a 1979 Ford Mustang Ghia) are usually done solo, so "Multi-User" is not a necessity, but would be nice for the times when helpers show up. I am thinking one of the 60-gallon models would suffice.
Suggestions?
Edit:
Forgot to mention this, I would also like to install a RapidAir system, too. If that has any bearing on model selection advice.
Craig Peters any 60 gal would do fine, if your old compressor tank isn't in bad shape, reuse it by connecting it to your new compressor's tank which would give you more air storage.
you can use rapid air with any compressor
I have never connected one air to another. How is that done? I am more concerned about having the "little" tank stop filling before tank overpressurization creates a safety issue.
The only problem with my current compressor is the "Auto-Off" switch/regulator assembly. The regulator works fine for adjusting output air pressure. The "Auto-Off" does not turn off the compressor when it reaches maximum, (100 PSI), tank pressure. The compressor continues to run until the tank pressure exceeds maximum and activates the pressure relief valve.
Unfortunately, the cost to replace the "Auto-Off" switch/regulator assembly is high enough that I would rather upgrade to a larger capacity unit.
What are the specs of each unit??? CFM, HP, Power Required.
what kind a compressor do i need for painting cars?
Do they have a 60 gal with 120 volt plug in
What you're really lookiing for is the QST 30/60 but it's 240v
www.eastwood.com/eastwood-elite-qst-30-60-scroll-air-compressor-with-quiet-technology.html
our largest 120v is a 29 gallon with 5.9CFM at 90 PSI
www.eastwood.com/eastwood-29-gallon-single-stage-compressor.html
so can i put a California Air Tools SP-9421 2.0HP Ultra Quiet and Oil-Free Air Compressor Motor on my 60gl up right tank
Yes
I would like a 3 cylinder 30 gal compressor
What’s the best air compressor for air grinders
You won't need anything crazy just to power some pneumatic tools in the garage.
Take a peek at our single-stage compressor. This'll work great.
www.eastwood.com/eastwood-29-gallon-single-stage-compressor.html
Is a 2 stage better for less water problems
I have a fifth wheel that requires 90 psi. How much CFM and what size compressor what I need for that?
Any of these will work for inflating tires. The 30 gallon would be the most sensible.
Eastwood.... With everything you covered... you left out one thing (on each compressor) that would have been Very Informative, and that is... what the "recovery time" is from.... say ie: 60psi up to rated psi.. THAT would be nice to know, and critical in making a decision on which one to get.... otherwise, very informative... and Thank you.
I WOOD LIKE TO SEE MORE OF BEAUE B
Is there a trick to taking the 3 legged air compressor off of the pallet with out the compressor falling over?
Yes, but you'll need to anchor it to the floor, and use some rubber pads to absorb vibration, some guys use hockey pucks. Hopefully this answers your question.
What about tire changers?
Excellent video!
what is the largest 220v 30amp compressor i can buy for my garage
Get a screw type compressor if you have the money for it. You will never find its limits and the pressure is more stable than piston type compressors.
we need scroll technology in asir compressors!!!
Can I get a compressor that uses 240W and not 110W .. intended for usage in Nigeria?
Yes. all of the 60 & 80 gallon compressors are 240V.
Make sure the motors are safe for use at 50Hz, USA power is 60Hz. Most other countries use 50Hz.
How long is the recharge for each and does it do it automatically as I run it down or do I have to do it manually? Also, on the big ones, can you install wheels to make them portable?
What size generator i need for a 60 gallon air compressor
Hello! While using your air compressor with a generator is not recommended, as the fluctuations in power delivered by a generator can cause serious damage to your air compressor, you will most likely need a 5K to 6K generator. Check out our site for more information: www.quincycompressor.com/resources/
not a very good comparison. No cfm mentioned, how many tools each can handle at once, time to refill, so much not covered here.
Is 100psi in a 80 gal tank more or less air than 200psi in a 40 gal tank?
No. 200psi is more than 100 no matter tank size. PSI is a measure of pressure. You're concern is likely CFM, which is the amount of air needed. A 40 gallon tank will run out of air quicker than an 80 gallon tank. So if you're tool needs a lot of CFM you need a larger tank. Or you can consider a scroll compressor, which is highly efficient and doesn't need a big tank. Plus they're incredibly quiet. Check it out here: www.eastwood.com/eastwood-qst-30-60-quiet-scroll-air-compressor.html
No, I mean if you had two tanks, one charged to 200psi, the other to 100psi, and you were filling balloons, would you be able to fill more balloons with the 40gal tank that started with 200psi or would you be able to fill nore from the 80gal tank that started with only 100psi
Did U actually turn one on?? 4 sound level??

How can I get a free 80 gallon compressor?
Do you have a 3 stage compressors or not
Which compressor is best for sanding and sanding a whole car
None. Get cordless tools such as a die grinder, angle grinder, and a good ol' cordless drill for sanding. If you use air to do what cordless tools can do, then you're a dinosaur stuck in the dark ages.
Can i paint a mid size car with the 30 gallon?
You may need to do it one panel at a time to let the compressor catch up.
Question I’m
Looking to buy a 10hr 80gal 2-stage one and it recommends 60a breaker and it has 40a running and 80a start up. I don’t understand electric all i know is my old compressor has 8/2 cable rated at i believe 45a and i have a 50a double pull breaker. I’m a little confused why they reconnect a 60a breaker but they say it’s 80a start us. Can someone tell me if I’m ok with my 8/2 and 50a breaker or so i need to update my line. Any help appreciated.
Typically a common load center have what are called "inverse time trip breakers" When they trip depends on the time the load is applied,,,,The 50A breaker will dump faster then you can detect on a dead short but it should take the locked rotor draw long enough for the motor to come up to full speed...., but if you run it continuously at a 41 amp draw (over 80%) for over 30 minutes your 50 amp breaker will soon trip.
As far as the conductors go, #8 SO cord (SJO etc) is rated at 40 amps, not 45. and connecting to to a 50 Amp overcurent device (Fuse, Breaker, etc) is a violation.
For a 10-Hp motor my recommendation is is get a swear to God licensed electrician to hard wire it for you - A safety disconnect and some sealtite on a compressor will be much better then any cord and plug connection. - Trust me, sooner or later the receptical will burn,,,,and may undervoltage and take your 10HP motor with it.
As far as
can i change a head to a bigger one
I would get a air compressor from Eastwood but the shipping is to much
What size compressor would I need to run a air buffer to wax a vehicle at my house, use a air blower tip to blow out grills, inside wheels and inside under seats?
Check air requirements for the tool. It will be listed in CFM at maximum working pressure. Check requirements for all tool you will be using, then go with the highest CFM required when selecting compressor. All the jabbering in the video was 100% meaningless drivel, as is the chart. Go with the CFM requirements for your tool and, again, get a compressor that meets the needs of the tool using most air and you'll be fine.
does it matter if we let compressed air inside the tank when you finish the job?
or should I empty it every time when I don't use it?
I heard you should empty .that the air builds condensation and effects the o ring.just what I heard.
What about air dryers
Thank you very much my long time doubt clear today.
Is Eastwood same company as industrial air? The air compressor seem to look the same...
Eastwood doesn't make anything, they just put their sticker on someone else's product and mark up the price.
Which is the most quite. I don't have a fully plumbied 100,000 sq ft shop...
Check out the QST 30/60 Scroll compressor if you need quiet!
Can a truck be painted with a 20 gallons 175psi .what problems will I have?
You need to determine the cfm output of the compressor to ensure it's more than the requirements of the spray gun that will be used.
Should have given more information on the specs. at least hp and PSI, CMF, SCMF, maybe some price ranges? you basically were just saying, you should buy these If you dont use It daily or you shouldn't buy these if you dont use these tools.
bo what is your second name and what do you think of be comeing the king of bad shuller men
If you have an old tank can you gang them together?
mchiodox69 As long as the tank is still safe, ie. the motor burnt out, you shouldn't have any problems as long as you have a sufficient size line between the two.
I wish they turned them on
Yeah.All at once. lol.
Screw style 80 gallon coming soon?
is the pump and motor made in the u.s.a
I have an upholstery shop currently have 5 places where a hose can be connected for either to use for a staple gun or a cement glue gun. If that is the case what size gallon compressor would you recommend me using?
You could likely use a small compressor, but you may want to discuss with a Tech so we can completely understand how much air will be used. 800.343.9353. If you want an incredibly quiet and efficient compressor, you should check out the Eastwood Scroll Compressor here: www.eastwood.com/scroll-compressors

Around 3 thousand dollars for 2, look on their website
I saw a youtube video that eastwood has a 30 gallon screw compressor coming this summer. how dies that compare with the 30 gallon piston driven compressor and the 60 gallon compressor?

you mean assembled in USA the part are not
I have a kolbolt 60 gallon 1 stage I'm doing a restoration on a 71 c10. is that enough to sandblast blast and paint?
Eli Swink I have the same one. curious to hear the answer!
Sandblasting uses heaps...not much keeps up with it.... but as for painting, it should be no problem as long as you stick to a conventional air cap or a LVLP air cap. only issue will be with HVLP..... you dont need HVLP.
No motor hp information that’s the important thing they only know about tank size
Very informative! I like the Made in the USA feature the best!
Jeremy Gaitsch tank is made in USA, motor is made in Mexico, and pump is made in china.

Okay i need one of those compressor in Jamaica HOW can I gets one for my garage please
What a terrible video. We need cfm flow @ a specific pressure. How many stages? Any drain accessories? Any special filtration requirements or recommendations? Rebrands are alright, but I prefer to buy direct from the mfg (i.e. Atlas Copco, etc.) to avoid excessive mark up.
Why not make a small 2 stage compressor

these guys are nuts
i painted all my semi with it

What the hell is a pressure blaster ?
does he mean a bead or sand blaster ??
I watched up to about the end and I still do not know the CFM of any of the models you just spent 12 minutes explaining ..
You can have siphon blasters or pressure blasters. Pressure blasters are more powerful. Both are often referred to as "sand blasters", "soda blasters" or "media blasters". The tank that holds the media is pressurized when it fills with air. Siphon blasters are often used in blast cabinets or in bucket blasters where the media is simply in a bucket with the hose for the gun stuck into it. Here's a link: www.eastwood.com/abrasive-blasting/pressure-blasters.html
Kevin should of done this.
Which one would be better for sanders an body work
The 80 gallon would be best, but you should be fine with the 60. You may want to consider the QST Scroll Compressor - www.eastwood.com/eastwood-qst-30-60-quiet-scroll-air-compressor.html
My 3rd video like this and no one talked about oil-less vs oiled. So you are just pushing product
It's a comparison video, we're showing you options. Oilless is what many DIY guys have at home. some of our staff included, but they're NOISY.
Somebody needs to chime in here thats bought there compressor and tell us how its lasting or tell us about eastwood customer service these look like Husky or Hausfeld compressors with eastwood stickers on them so why buy it when its marked up? Somebody chime in give me a reason to buy a eastwood 80 gallon im in the market for one and seem to not trust anybody's product right now they all run at to high of rpm and dont last so somebody tell me something and not eastwood u dont count
Big is better. Most diy people only have standard power points. You never mention power supply? ??
They sure did.
I hate the term DIY, used to be a time when there was nothing special about doing something yourself
