Im trying to find a good video that goes in detail on replacing the rear brake shoes, springs, and cylinders on these dually trucks. I have a 1990 K3500 and can not figure out how to do these brake springs. Everyone glosses over the spring assembly, or time lapses over the important parts like the torque requirements for the 8 axle bolts.
Is it worth it i will never go with a 6.5 again Cummins or a duramax or a gas motor live got a 96 motor in it know it needs glow plugs and injectors if i can get threw till sprig I’ll be happy just getting ready to do my back brakes ther not torque ther finger tight
Gotta maintain them and they'll treat you good. Abuse and neglect them and they'll leave you high and dry and that goes for any engine regardless of what name it has stamped on it.
5-0 ft pounds is news to me what the point of all that to draw the seal in maybe anybody I know that have changed the if they don’t come off with your fingers ther to tight I don’t know hmm

I need to get mine done , my left seal is leaking.
What size is that socket?
How do you bleed the rear drums on that thing? I have a P30. Is it easier with both rear wheels off? It’s no room back there
Much easier with rear wheels off, i was able to get my body between the wheel and fender and get to the bleeder screws when i did it though

What happens with the motors you were going to build
Machine shop was booked out for months so I had to wait for that, but working on assembling now

Gm updated the service manual. Its to seat the bearing properly with the correct preload. Mine came off finger tight as well.
