Nice job!!! Really warm pre amp. Stereo width is right outa the box. The IR player is one of the the best i've ever heard. It also supports your favorite VST's right in the signal path. Standalone awesome, DAW not so much. Longtime user since Peavey days.

You should really do a video on AudioAssault's ReAmp 2 and their pedal packs (Drive Pack A, Soda Pack) inside of Amp Locker. I've used some of the pedals from ReAmp 2 and Drive Pack A with the free Prestige 1959 amp included with Amp Locker, as well as fiddling with the other amps and pedal setups. Some of the older Plexi type amps even have separate knobs for regular and high frequency channels, like they had been input jumpered.

A particularly unique and very, very good amp lineup. HeadRush just dropped a slew of Fender Blackface amps into the mix along with a few AC30's and some SVTs, not to mention a Matchless.

Aha, so this is where the Headrush Prime got its "Amp Cloner" capture tech from. I figured it was not an actual machine learning neural network the Headrush Prime was using. It "clones" amps too quickly and it's done completely on the onboard CPU. Considering how long it takes for the Quad Cortex to capture an amp (and the QC has a much, much more powerful CPU), it just didn't add up. I have to admit that the "Amp Cloner" in the Headrush Prime does sound damn good, especially considering it's an older technology. ReValver always was ahead of the competition in that regard.

Very important things about revalver - if you going to use it with your own IR with for instance Nadir loader - use impedance curve IR before cabinet IR, it's crucial. But the best choice is using the revalver impulse loader because it matches the impedance curve for every head.
Also if you use MIXir3 loader, you dont have to use impedance curve IR before them.
Actually I didn't know about this when i bought revalver4 years ago, and I thought it is impossible to get great high gain tone out of them.
But now I got really really huge high gain tone from revalver.

Revalver's website says Headrush is about 50 USD, which seems affordable enough for me. Since I've used the trial versions of some VSTs of those "competing" plugin manufacturers I might actually get this.
Is this something we'd be able to keep once purchased or is this subscription based like STL's Tonehub?

Once again Peavey drops the ball on a great product and innovative technology. I saw a video of Hartley Peavey at NAMM years ago talking about how they were going to integrate a computer with their revalver software to make the ultimate modeler. But, for whatever reason, it never happened. It's a shame the entire Peavey company has gone to hell since Hartley gave over control.

    • @amirtak9886
      @amirtak9886 5 місяців тому

After Peavey stopped making their amps in the USA in 2015 the company has been on a downfall. The 5150/6505 series is the company's saving grace or they'd be out of business.

What's going on with the strings on that guitar? There's some kind of black block between the tail piece and bridge that I thought was covering the strings but the high E doesn't appear to be covered or even look like it goes to the tail piece at all! and I don't see the string ball ends on the back side of the tail piece. I thought I could kinda see the string ends in my EC1000 tail piece, but I give that guitar away so I can't check to see if I'm remembering right... Am I just imagining things or what is going on here?

Wow! I was wondering when I saw revalver 5. I bought 4th version maybe in 2016 😂. Used it just once and ditch them.
Just one year ago a tried if my license still work after acquired by inmusic 😂 And it worked 😂
Yesterday I downloaded headrush version of revalver and ..... It works again! It's just great without any hussle! I tried old peave heads and it seems to me that somehow revalver now sounds great, abit different from all-around there but great! Maybe it's because I have good studio setup now 😂 After I tried headrush heads I bought upgrade (headrush bundle) immediately!!!
I really need that type of unique sound!!! I do sladgy doom sound and revalver 5 just fit in perfectly!!!

I saw Revalver as a neat platform for deep-dive tinkerers. The question to ask is, what % of home recordists have a need for this much tweaking. Is this a solution to a problem that really does not affect a significant portion of this market share?

Revalver came to dethrone Guitar Rig, which at the time almost ruled alone in terms of market share.... And it definitely did. It is a joy to see it resurrected, however I feel a little disappointed, I thought I would find an updated GUI, totally renewed, not this "guitar rig" style (for the reason I explained before)... I imagined something more elegant, modern, like the standard that Neural DSP has imposed with its plugins... It's a shame, regarding the sound, it's still Peavey Revalver and I LOVE that, I love those tones, plus the ACT Modeling section, is something very authentic, similar to what Positive Grid does, but I think it's better achieved here despite the years... I hope that eventually (although we will not see that until a version 6) Headrush is encouraged to make the total facelift that this plugin had, because both the modeling technology of Headrush and Revalver, are undervalued, an attractive interface could help to solve this problem. We will have to wait and see how much work they will do to update it.

3,5 years (!) ago I was invited for the beta test. 3,5 years. Just checked it out, still looks pretty much as the last version aeons ago...soundwise I'm not convinced as well. Revalver was good before Peavey took over. More like abandonware to me now...🤷🏻‍♂
