Both guitars had identical sounds during certain segments according to my aging hearing. What gave the Eastman away was a brighter high end, but not by much. It would be the Eastman for me. I would be losing nothing to the Martin. Any guitar that can play in the same ball park as a Martin, is a top line guitar regardless of preference.
"B".......easily. Would not have been surprised either way....B, just sounded Sweeter, Rounder and more balanced overall. I have owned 2 Eastmans, however my pick was based solely on sound after the A/B comparison....Was impressed! Great Comparison!
When introducing both guitars, he gave the price. He said, “Martin 70,000+ RMB” and “Eastman 20,000 RMB”... At today’s exchange rate, that is a difference of $7,600.... can buy lots of picks, strings, capos and beer with that much extra cash...
I listened very carefully and went back again to make sure that I was gauging the guitars correctly. A and B have the same bottom end: no difference whatsoever. A does not have a "deeper" or more 3 dimensional quality to the sound. Instead, guitar B is considerably brighter than A (and that accounts for the illusion that B isn't as "deep" or 3-D sounding as A). The Eastman guitars, by all accounts, open up beautifully with age. Unlike the Martin's today, they are handmade and the tops are AAA Red Spruce: a superior tone wood to Martin's Sitka Spruce. I'd wager in 20 years that this Eastman will sound considerably better than the Martin.
Honestly, if you looked hard enough you could probably find another D45 that sounds exactly like the E40D. The Eastman is already at the same level of the D45, so the variance I'm hearing is no different than if you had another D45. I cannot hate on the E40D no matter how hard I try.
The sound is very similar, but I could tell the difference between the classic Martin sound compared to the Eastman straightaway, with the latter having a bit more midrange and the Martin having a bit more bottom end...as for aesthetics although the Eastman had a better looking top it seemed it only had half the abalone inlay completed, and looked a bit bare in comparison, the Martin has inlay to the top, back, sides and the inlay that runs down the sides of the neck heel bridging that gap and completing the fluid abalone inlay that Martin are especially famous for on this model. If Eastman were to add the inlay to the same level as the Martin's specification and put say an extra $750 dollars for the extra abalone, would you pay it? Because it would then be worthy of taking on the Martin in all areas ,it for me already does tonally but not yet aesthetically as without the extra abalone it lacks the finesse and grandure that amount of abalone portrays to a quality instrument, the only question is, would you pay the extra for the added abalone?...at that price I know i would...😏

盲听的时候还是选择了A， 感觉声音的细腻处更加清晰。 当然7W的售价， 确实不是给爱好者使用的😅。

E40对标的琴型应该是D42吧 声音类型是音梁前置的

谁是谁一听就出，马丁味跑不了，无论是分解还是扫弦，马丁声音是立体的很有声场，呈现的是絮状一片一片的，绵长浑厚；eastman扫弦颗粒感强，也很浑厚，但是总感觉有噪点一样需要修音，分解差距甚微；一个是高端木材的中端工艺，一个是中端木材的高端工艺；毕竟价格摆在那里，有一说一，eastman这把颜值真的高。啥？问我选哪个？这特么是两万跟七万的事么，又浪费我半小时搬砖时间。。。
